Has anyone else seen the previews for "Nurse Jackie?" Showtime has been running the previews for a minute now. I think it looks pretty damn funny.

The pilot premieres after "Weeds" on Monday, June 8. After being disappointed with "United States of Tara," I hope "Nurse Jackie" delivers on the comedy front.

Will anyone else be watching the premiere?

I will, for sure. The show looks amazing, and I'm sure it'll add to Edie Falco's awards shelf (assuming she has one).

I watched the sneak peaks on the site and they seemed to lean more towards drama than comedy. Or at least dramedy. And her character seemed a bit like House. I hope it's good because I really like Edie Falco.

It does seem a bit too familiar. Hopefully it'll at least be a decent vehicle for a great actress.

Congrats Kristen! All the PD haters can (SPOILER ALERT) Suck it!

There are posters on billboards for "Nurse Jackie" all over L.A. It's crazy. The posters are even on buses.

I think Showtime is planning for this show to be their next big emmy hit. Having an early summer release will make it eligible for the all the guild awards and the globes, and it will be airing next year during voting.

It will be interesting to see what kind of reviews it gets.

Even if it's really dark, which it looks like from the previews, it seems like it will fit in really well with Showtime's other black comedies. It actually may be easier to laugh at than United States of Tara since it's not dealing with a mental illness.

I'm looking foward to the first few episodes.

Also, I'm looking forward to seeing Edie Falco doing comedy. She was great on 30 Rock(when she got to be funny and not just there) and her guest turn on Will & Grace a few years back as a power lesbian was funny and entertaining.

I watched the first episode and I found it to be too quirky and too dark even for my taste. There wasn't any laugh-out-loud moments. It tries to shock a little bit too much. Falco will be nominated because, well she's Edie Falco.

This year's Emmys, give some love for The Shield

I saw the ad for this on a bus in LA the other day and I had to laugh out loud at the tagline.

Life is full of little pricks.

Sounds too familiar, lol!

Where can I see a trailer for this?

I was interested in this show, but after a few thoughts I'm not anymore. Even if it's bad Edie Falco will get every single nomination (or award) know to human kind just for the sake of being Edie Falco. :/ I hate that popularity is what's really counts nowadays.

The first episode is now available on demand.

I quite liked the show. Falco is incredible (duh). I liked the British doctor/friend and Haaz Slieman's character. I'm on the fence about Peter Facinelli's character (though the boob-grabbing was funny).

The only thing I didn't appreciate was the reveal at the end that showed Jackie and her family. It's gonna be hard for me to root for Jackie, but the situation will obviously be explained as the season continues.

Another solid show for Showtime.

This show is not a comedy.

The reveal at the end was reminiscent of the end of the Mad Men pilot.

Overall, the show isn't what I expected. Very slow moving, too.

Okay, Lindsay, are you forgetting that I was a professional twice over— an analyst and a therapist. The world’s first analrapist.

If it were me who said that, I would've been roasted alive. Thanks for speaking the truth. :-) Edie Falco has a lifetime free pass with Emmy. Any show she's in, no matter if it's a test pattern, will yield her a win.

This is true but she deserved everything she received for The Sopranos. Who knows what this show will turn out to be like, though.

Edie Falco deserved every single Emmy, SAG, Globe, etc. nomination/win she received. I even liked her guest spot on 30 ROCK and was thrilled to see her nominated for that.

Truth must be told. I have a feeling she's going to be the Meryl Streep of Emmys. You know they're going to nominate her for every single performance, even if she doesn't deserve it. It hurts me that actresses like Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kristen Bell or Mary McDonnell can't get even one freakin' nomination and someone like her could get a nom for ****ing on a phone book.

LOL at the Falco wank already.

The Pilot was okay. Too early to say how the show will turn out but it really could go either way.

This is a pretty good show. The pilot wasn't extraordinary but it was definitely enjoyable. I agree with MissyGal in that I didn't like Dr. Cooper at all. But other than that, everything was pretty solid.

Based solely off the pilot, I really think this should be campaigned in Drama, as there is very little comedy in it. However, in Drama it would have the disadvantage of being only a half hour show.

I'm on the fence about this one. Just watched the pilot, and it wasn't as funny as I thought it would be. There were some funny moments (the two brothers of the bike messenger cracked me up) and there were some not so funny. The boob-grabbing was just awkward and painfully un-funny. I liked the character of her best friend (the scene in the restaurant was a hoot!) Based on the pilot, it's hard to tell if they were shooting for comedy or drama. Based on the fact that it's a half-hour show, and the ads that I've seen for it, I'd say they're going for comedy. Hopefully, it'll get better as it goes on.

Edie Falco is great. She brings a sincerity to the role, and her character's passion for her patients is evident. And the quirkiness of her character is different. I kinda like Jackie. Having worked with a LOT of nurses in my time, I've seen more than a few Jackies. That's not to say that the Jackies of the world are always right, but the world is a better place with a few of them in it.

I'll definitely give this one a try. And I'd have to agree that Edie Falco will surely get some nominations for this one. Partly because she's Edie Falco, and maybe partly because she really deserves it.

See, I think it's definitely a comedy. Sure, there are some dramatic moments, but, if anything, it's a quirky show. And quirky shows usually go in the comedy category (see: United States of Tara).
