I've just read it on IMDb. It's an independent drama starring Sigourney Weaver and Kate Bosworth in leading roles. I saw it last year and really liked it. Sigourney Weaver was amazing and is heading for an Emmy gold next year, without a doubt. As for Kate Bosworth, she really surprised me because I have never thought about her as a serious actress. She was very good. Definetely her best performance to date (deserves an Emmy nod too). Has anyone else seen it too?
I'd had never seen this trailer before. It looks like it could be another good part for Sigourney Weaver.
I think she's still the frontrunner for the Emmy this year for Prayers for Bobby, so she could win Lead Actress in a Miniseries or movie two years in a row, BUT if they give it to Jessica Lange this year(I think she's the only other option) then I think that will only help her even more next year for this movie.

I was talking about Kate Bosworth. You misread what I've written. And, yes Sigourney deserves an Emmy this year for "Prayers for Bobby".

Oh, it is a really good part and she nailed it. Of course, she's front-runner but we all know how much Emmys love HBO, so the award might as well go to Lange or Barrymore. All three are deserving of a win, but IMO Siggy was the best.
This film does seem interesting, but the problem is, I had to find that out after reading what it was about since the trailer seemed very confusing... I hope this will be a good film since Weaver and Bosworth are leading this. My question is - would this even be considered for Emmys if it's already previously played in theaters, such as in theaters in the UK...?
EDIT: It's even available on DVD now...

It's going to be eligible for Emmys because it hasn't been released in U.S. at cinemas. Overseas releases don't matter. It's going to be released in U.S. first on TV and then on DVD in 2010. If you can't wait for it, you can order it by Internet. It's worth of buying and it's not expensive.

I think I can wait... I mean, I wasn't that blown away by the trailer... But I'll take your word for it Scout, I guess we do have similar tastes! I will try and catch it when it will be on tv...
But I'm glad to know that it will be eligible. Now the real question is, will Lifetime make it eligible and promote it well when they send out the screeners?

Yes, I have noticed that too. We do have quite similar tastes.
I heard that Lifetime (or Weinsteins because they sold the movie to the network) waited with premiere of "The Girl in the Park" because they wanted to make Sigourney Weaver eligible for two Emmys. If the movie premiered in season 2008-09 it would collide with "Prayers for Bobby". But now Siggy has a chance for two stauettes. Even if the movie won't get any campaign from the network, she'll get in on a name's recognition alone. Sadly, we can't say the same about Ms. Bosworth who needs a campaign because she also gave a great performance and we know that voters do not recognize young ladies without a proper promotion.

Good to keep in mind... thanks for all the info!

Change of plans. Sadly, the movie is going to premiere first on DVD in U.S. (December 2009) and then premieres on Lifetime somewhere in 2010. There goes Sigourney Weaver's chance for finally winning an Emmy.
