There is always at least one nomination/snub (sometimes more) that leaves people either pleasantly surprised or wondernig WTF...so who is brave enough to go ahead and call that/those nominations (or snubs)?

Apart from Glenn Close and maybe William Hurt, I don't think we'll be seeing much of Damages in the nominations lists. In fact, I don't think it will be nominated for Best Drama Series.
FYC: "Up" for Best Picture and Kathryn Bigelow for Best Director
I'm just curious as to why some of you think Battlestar will all of a sudden get in? I know it is it's final season and several critics have written excellent things about the show, but it seems to be similar to The Wire in that it was loved by its hardcore fans & critics but the Emmys largely ignored it. Plus the show is sci-fi and you know the Emmys don't go for those shows. Has it ever made the top 10 (cause I don't think so)? If you take the fact that they haven't made the top 10 AND the fact 24 is back in the race, I just don't see how they would get in...plus if the Emmys are looking to reward a show for its final season wouldn't they be more likely to award previous Emmy fav ER? I'm not trying to cause controversy or anything...I'm just curious about the thought process that leads to it getting a nomination other than "its a great show so it should be nominated" cause we know that isn't necessairly how the Emmys work.
Mary McDonnell seems a more likely surprise since she did make the top 10 last year.

Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco and "The Big Bang Theory" getting nominations for Best Leading Actor, Supporting Actress and Series. I know, too good to be true... "ER", Angela Bassett and Maura Tierney getting nominations for Best Series, Supporting Actress and Supporting/Guest Actress. Another one that won't come true. It's going to be same old, same old. :/
The hopes for Battlestar Gallatica are just like the hopes for The Wire last year. So I think all of you who think it will get nominated, should get ready to be disappointed.
For Your Grammy Consideration: Kristin Chenoweth - in all eligible categories
Katherine Heigl making it into the supporting actress race and being the only Grey's girl to do it.
And, if we're really being bold, 11 acting nominations for Mad Men, coming just short of TWW's record 12 in 2002: Hamm in Lead Jones in Lead Slattery in Supporting Kartheiser in Supporting Hendricks in Supporting Moss in Supporting Melinda McGraw in Guest Actress Mary Anne McGarry in Supporting Actress Patrick Fischler in Guest Actor Robert Morse in Guest Actor Mark Moses in Guest Actor
Half of those nominations probably aren't going to happen, but with Mad Men on its way to becoming a next emmy darling, with critics going gaga over it, a big emmy push from the savy AMC, and a new season arriving/being advertised for just as ballots are going out - I think they'll do very well come nomination morning.

I don't know if it will get that many but I do think MM will increase its acting nominations by a lot this year. It really is positioned so well because of when it comes back on air. AMC handles the campaign for their shows so well...which is surprising considering how new all this is for the network.
As for Battlestar, I only think it may surprise because it got way more publicity than I ever imagined it would.
