The season 6 premiere of Nip/Tuck is Wednesday, October 14th at 10pm on FX.
I know very few people around here still watch, I only do so out of habit (and the occasionally good episode they churn out). I'll be interested to see how the series begins wrapping up. For all intensive purposes, Nip/Tuck helped define FX's original programming, so it certainly holds some weight with the network.
Reviews forthcoming.

Creatively speaking, few programs have experienced the wide swing in operatic highs and wince-inducing lows as "Nip/Tuck," which at its best paved the way for basic cable fare to ambitiously challenge HBO in the prestige realm. So it's encouraging to see the series return for its sixth-season arc of 10 episodes in reasonably solid fashion, albeit after dispensing a bit too rapidly with the nifty conflict laid out in last season's cliffhanger. Dark and twisted, the new episodes again find the partners of McNamara/Troy unlucky in love -- and grappling with the ill effects of a sluggish economy on the plastic-surgery biz. The premiere uses an ersatz documentary format (narrated by Linda Hunt) to recount the story thus far, which saw Dr. Christian Troy (Julian McMahon) discover that his fatal cancer diagnosis was actually mistaken -- good news that he received right after marrying Liz (Roma Maffia) for estate-planning purposes.
Partner Sean (Dylan Walsh), meanwhile, has a lovely girlfriend in Teddy (Rose McGowan, taking over the role from Katee Sackhoff), but his anxiety about the business' financial woes is keeping him up nights -- so much so that he begins abusing pills in order to sleep.
Further highlighting the doctors' apprehensions about aging, Sean and Christian feel compelled to recruit a younger partner (Mario Lopez), whose washboard abs offer the older surgeons a nagging reminder of life on the wrong side of 40. Christian also enlists Kimber (Kelly Carlson) to help with a lewd money-making scheme that yields several amusing moments.
At its best, "Nip/Tuck" offered a searing indictment of society's preoccupation with youth and beauty and the sordid depths to which that pursuit would go -- while simultaneously providing the voyeuristic allure of beautiful people in tawdry situations. Now, fans will mostly have to settle for the soapy denouement of Sean and Christian's not-so-excellent adventures, as they demonstrate greater proficiency in terms of sexual acrobatics than the relationships that go with them.
The central duo's bond, of course, has been the program's one constant, and even with its periodic missteps and excesses (see "The Carver" payoff), it's worth hanging around to see where series creator Ryan Murphy and company choose to leave them.
Season seven will be the show's last, and given "Nip/Tuck's" dour worldview, a happy ending hardly seems to be in the cards. In its wild storylines, virtually every character has suffered scars, both emotional and literal; we'll just have to wait to see if the last cuts are the deepest.

It will be interesting to see where the show goes, and as always I'll watch the season premire. Those are usually good, this show just has a habit of dropping off from there really quickly(at least in the later years).
However, I've always loved the actors on this show. I still don't understand how Jolie Richardson was snubbed in 2005. She's the January Jones of that year. And how did Vanessa Redgrave, one of if not the best living actress, miss out on a nom that year or the next.
I can't remember the cliffhanger(I really only remember Richard Burgi having sex with a couch). Was it that Christian no longer had cancer even though he married Liz?
Also, does anyone know why they recast Katee Sachoff's role. I liked her in the role since it was different from what we were used to seeing her in, though it will be interesting to see what Rose McGowan does with it.
"Wolf, creator and producer of Law and Order, hired Sackhoff to play "an offbeat female LAPD detective who, after butting heads with the higher-ups, is sent as a punishment to the basement to work on John Doe and Jane Doe cases," so the show had to re-cast because it conflicted with her N/T role.
Synopsis: Sean and Christian struggle to keep McNamara/Troy successful in this declining economy. Meanwhile, Matt and Kimber have mixed results in their career paths, as Sean keeps himself distant from Teddy.

This show is just beyond most everything else on television. Interpret how you will. Still, like it or not, it's addictive and entertaining, and with less than 20 episodes to go until the end, there's no turning back now. The technical aspects of the show remain top notch, especially the editing and, of course, the makeup.

Vanessa Redgrave returns in two weeks. Can't wait for that. She should have been nominated alongside Jill Clayburgh during the shows 2nd season, so maybe with the right material, she get a nod this year.

This an absolute guilty pleasure of mine. I simply love campiness of this show. The storylines are so entertaining it's ridiculous (btw most of the time they're RIDICULOUS). Can't wait to see Ms. Redgrave again on the show. Can't believe she wasn't nominated for the show before.
After being soggy and depressing for the past couple of seasons (not that I watched much of last season), this show has finally returned to campy fun. No, it'll never be what it was its first two seasons when it was able to balance parody with affecting if overripe drama, but it's a good time, and it hasn't gotten too ridiculous.
I will say that the supporting cast is what's making this worth tuning in: Roma Maffia, Kelly Carlson, Rose McGowan and Mario Lopez's body are the main interests.
Congrats Kristen! All the PD haters can (SPOILER ALERT) Suck it!
Nice to have Jolie Richardson back, even if it's in such a small way. Hope that's the last we've seen of Matt (though I highly doubt it). Vanessa Redgrave next week!
