Do we really need a Miley Cyrus thread every Emmy season?
She won't make it. If she did, it's the end of the world.
FYC EMMY VOTERS!!!
Please consider the following performances:
Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies) Julia Louis Dreyfus (New Adventures of Old Christine) Steve Carell (The Office) Hugh Laurie (House) Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother)

Originally posted by EmmyNominee: If Patty Duke was nominated for the Patty Duke show in 1964 Lead Actress, there is no reason Miley can't at least make the top 10.
But Miley Cyrus isn't Patty Duke.
Top 10 in Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category is almost lock: 3 spots for 'Desperate Housewives' - Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher and Felicity Huffman 1 spot for 'Ugly Betty' - America Ferrera 1 spot for 'Samantha New' - Christina Applegate 1 spot for '30 Rock' - Tina Fey 1 spot for 'Weeds' - Mary-Louise Parker 1 spot for 'The New Adventures of Old Christine' - Julia-Louis Dreyfus These are 8 locks, while next 2 spots belongs to 2 of these 3 women: Eva Longoria Parker from 'Desperate Housewives', Patricia Heaton from 'Back To You' and Anna Friel from 'Pushing Daisies'.
Simply, she's out.

I just want to say this, Miley is like on top of the world right now. I wouldn't be surprised if she made the top 10 list, and even the top 5... well my jaw might drop down to the floor, but... basically, she is popular, and i am assuming many emmy voters have kids and watch Hannah Montana with their kids, therefore she could have a chance. If someone has no idea who Miley is they must be living under a rock becuase she is huge right now.
2009 Oscars FYC:
Lead Actor - Richard Jenkins, The Visitor Lead Actress - Sally Hawkins, Happy Go Lucky Supporting Actor - Haaz Sleiman, The Visitor Supporting Actress - Amy Adams, Doubt Original Screenplay - Thomas McCarthy, The Visitor

I'm sorry but what a simply ludicrous and stupid/ignorant thing to say. In 1964, Patty Duke had a freakin' ACADEMY AWARD!!!!! Miley Cyrus has zilch in the way of awards recognition, or even respect as a serious actress, comedy or drama.

and ontop of that Hannah Montanna is a TERRIBLe, HORRIBLE show. if she were competing in maybe Children's show or something like that at the daytime emmys than i'd say maybe. but she will not get Lead Actress In A Comedy Series.
Ron Carvalit, you are my hero!

Sorry if I offended you, but I dont think it's a legit question. That's my opinion. She wouldnt have a tape that could get her anywhere near a nomination. The competition is way too strong. There are the 4 Housewives, Julia Louis Dreyfuss, Mary Louise Parker, Christina Applegate, Tina Fey, Judy Greer, Patricia Heaton, Tichina Arnold, America Fererra, Anna Friel. And the show's quality is nowhere near anything that would get nominated.
Your cool The thing is that I'm not a fan of hers (she can't sing but thats my opinion), but she's on top of the world right now. Whatever she does ppl are tlkn about it. So if this were to happen OMG I can see this board losing its s.h.i.t
