Does anyone on these boards watch CHELSEA LATELY? I absolutely love love love this girl!
Did anyone catch her "semi-exclusive interview" with Lynne Spears last night? Or how about her interview with the Jonas Brothers a month ago? (which was followed by a kick-ass PSA about making death threats with proper grammar.)
WHAT. A WHIRLWIND.
You can watch her interview with Lynne Spears HERE.
I LOVE this woman. She's freaking hilarious. I've started recording CL on my DVR.
My only complaint with the show is the skits; they're awful and horribly unfunny. I wish they'd just do two segments of roundtable and save the last segment for the celebrity guest.
The show was great the other night when they had Cesar Milan on. They had two roundtable discussions and then Milan.
When the show began it was all ove the place. It has honed in quite a bit and is always entertaining if not consistantly funny. It's like an estrogen infused "The Soup" which is often hilarious. The Emmys showed some love to "Talk Soup". It'd be great if they would see that E! has more than half-naked bunnies, Kim Kardashian's booty, and Ryan Seacreast pimping himself out.
She has totally grown on me. I do catch it now from time to time.
Agreed, the skits are absolutely awful. Really, as bad as non-"Weekend Update" skits on "SNL" these days.
It's weird that the skits are so bad, because Chelsea's interviews are quite good. Contrary to many talk show hosts, she appears to actually know something about her guests and asks decent questions.
Agreed, they should stick to a couple segments of the round-table gossip and hit-or-miss jokes, and conclude with a slightly longer interview.

Chelsea Handler is definitely becoming one of the funniest women out there. I know people think her skits aren't funny but I thought her Living Lohan parodies with Heather McDonald were funny.
I agree with what you all have said....her interviews are very very funny but awfully short....
anybody watched the one with New York? The fact that Chelsea mantained herself with her and managed to talk to her in her own language was amazing....It was like she was tastefully insulting her and being funny at the same time without being disrespectful....it was a very weird and hilarious and confusing thing to watch....
the round-table is also pretty great, she leaves a lot to the guests but none of them can be as funny as she is....
and her reactions and questions to Chuy make me laugh aswell..
I was very excited when I saw that she was invited to The View and had a piece done by Entertainment Weekly....sure The View sucks, but at least she's getting herself out there...
and it's true The Emmys should take notice with her and Joel McHale and the Soup which is also extremely good...

argh! it's nightly shows like this that make me wish i had the money to buy a DVR!!!
i disagree with those who said that the skits are awful. sure, they're not always funny, but sometimes they strike gold with those skits. it's more of a hit-or-miss thing with me. but definitely not awful.
For instance, i loved the whole MISS CHELSEA LATELY pageant thing they did a couple of weeks ago. And just the other night, Chelsea had a brand new "ADVICE BOX" skit and it was so freakin' funny! Especially the one with the guy who she thought was gay and made him do a really girly "heeeeeeeeeeey!!!"
And Oscarluver's right, her "Living Lohan" spoofs are good too. Heather McDonald totally nailed Ali Lohan!!!!
Heather McDonald also does an excellent Heidi Montag. Click HERE to watch.
Coincidentally, Heather also did a spot-on Lauren Conrad. Click HERE to watch. The whole wiping-the-tears-while-looking-up bit was perfect!
Both "Chelsea Lately" AND "The Soup" most definitely need to get some Emmy love next year!!! Are you listening, E??? It's time to start mounting a campaign for these shows!
WHAT. A WHIRLWIND. (that's my new favorite expression!)

i am a total Chelsea Lately addict! i love this show so much it's sick. I love her round tables and i adore all her interviews, she's a natural interviewer who seems to know about her guests and has a very converstational tone. I actually like most of her skits and find them very funny. My only complaint is that she repeats her skits too much... My favorite thing she does is when she talks to the old people and i LOVE anytime that Heather McDonald plays Ali Lohan and Chelsea plays Dina Lohan and was in love with the "keeping up with the palins" skit the other night---that was some dang funny stuff!
I've been a chelsea fan since she was on "Girls Behaving Badly" and this show just ROCKS!
It's much funnier than the soup imho and i wish Chelsea would get an Emmy nod!
Praying The Daytime Emmys air on TV in 2010!

Chelsea Handler was the one who hosted the pilot episode of "On The Lot" right??? I remember her being the one who welcomed the 50 finalists. Then she turned it over to that atrocious Adrianna Costa.
Just double-checking. Because i really remember a blonde girl named CHELSEA hosting that pilot. I'm just not sure if her last name was HANDLER. Hahahahaha!

Totally agree. That's one of the gazillion things i love about her. It doesn't matter who her guest is. She could be interviewing someone from the Z-List for all she cares. No matter who it is, she always knows stuff about her guests. I guess she actually takes the time to read up and research a bit on them. She doesn't just read bullet points off a cue card like most late night talk show hosts.

Oh, so it was her. Whoa. It's so weird, coz i remember Chelsea hosting that pilot episode with a more serious tone. It seemed very different from what i was used to seeing from her. Haha.
Adrianna Costa... that name still gives me shivers. Horrible woman.
Keep an eye out for an indie film called "Steam." It stars Ruby Dee and Ally Sheedy. I caught the film at OutFest this past summer in L.A.
Chelsea plays Ally's smart-alecky best friend and steals every damn scene. She's hilarious.
The movie overall is good, a real crowd-pleaser. It doesn't have distribution, might go right to DVD. Look for it, because hers is the kind of showy scene-stealing work that could lead to similar, high-profile roles.
If any of you get a chance, check out her appearance on Jay Leno last night she was such a riot. The subject of some people still undecided on who to vote for in the election came up and her analogy was this:
"Do you like your coffee black or with expired milk?"
She also added:
"If you get the expired milk, you also get a side breast milk."
She was so funny.
