Many times the Academy really doesn’t get it right. Sometimes they don’t give the Emmy to the most deserving nominee on the category, and sometimes they don’t even nominate the show/person that should really be recognized. We all know that and that’s why we dedicate so many time to this: trying to “find” who’s the most deserving winner in each Emmy category.
So, just for the fun of it let me ask you: in the most recent Emmy ceremonies, who should have won the award? You can include shows and actors that were nominated or even shows and persons that got snubbed. I’ll start by posting my list for last year’s Emmys.
2008 Outstanding Drama Series: In Treatment (HBO) Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series: Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad (AMC) Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series: Ally Walker, Tell Me You Love Me (HBO) Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series: Zeljko Ivanek, Damages (FX) Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series: Chandra Wilson, Grey’s Anatomy (ABC) Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series: Glynn Turman, In Treatment (HBO) Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series: Mira Sorvino, House (FOX)

Nelson, My Name is Earl (NBC) Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series: Elaine Stritch, 30 Rock (NBC)
G'Day, fun thread I did the comedy categories for this decade. The one where I struggled the most was lead actress- Anniston and Heaton I didn't like that much and Kaczmerek isn't really deserving of 4 -but I just found this category weak. Actually last year was strong I found it hard choosing between Fey, Parker and Friel, I may actually prefer the 2 latter but I decided to give the emmys the benifit of the doubt.

G'Day, did my drama categories now. they are a little rough and I guess subject to change. Drama series in 2005 which I could have just as easily given to 24 or west wing (and I am just about to see Deadwood season 2) - but I decided to give the emmys the benifit of the doubt. Also if I were an emmy voter I probably would have voted for Martin Sheen every year but I tried to be a little more objective there and not give him all 7 wins.

He was definitley the best actor on televison that season. The MS storyline and CJ becoming his new chief of staff allowed him to add a lot of layers to his performance, discover new things about his character, and reexamine Bartlet's relationships with other characters. "Impact Winter" was a sure winner.

"A movie is not good because it arrives at conclusions you share, or bad because it does not. A movie is not about what it is about. It is about how it is about it: about the way it considers its subject matter, and about how its real subject may be quite different from the one it seems to provide." - Roger Ebert, from the introduction to "Awake in the Dark" (2006)

I'll post my list for 2007. I just want to clear that you may find some "snubs" on my list; that's because I haven't start watching some shows (The Sopranos, The Wire, Big Love, How I Met Your Mother) or because I've start it very recently (Friday Night Lights, Battlestar Galactica, The Shield...).
