Why did Anna Friel pick "Bitter Sweets"!?!? She was so much better in "Corspicle." I guess I'll have to go back and watch. Lee Pace picked perfectly though.
And I saw on Tom's blog that Ted Danson is submitting "Jesus, Mary, and Joe C*cker." NO! He needs to change that to "Sort Of Like A Family." Close picked well, and their Series tape is great.
And I know he has no chance, but why is Penn Badgley running in Lead for Gossip Girl? And why is he the only one in the Lead category? Wouldn't Blake Lively as the only lead make more sense?

"Medium' submissions for this year per the actual DVD screener sent out. Reference EBAY for the proof.
YUP, these ARE the Emmy tapes for Houston, Weber, and Arquette.
per ebay: This DVD has 3 Episodes from Season FOUR These are the episodes the producers chose as the best of the season to present for awards consideration: "AFTERTASTE" (orig. aired Mar. 3, 2008) Devalos tries to reclaim the D.A.'s office. Allison's support of Devalos is tested when she has visions of Senator Jed Garrity, Devalos' strongest political supporter, involved in a horrible conspiracy. Guest Star: Gregory Itzin If you are not reading a listing by eBay seller "wilbert_son", it is has been copied & pasted without permission and against eBay policy "WICKED GAME PART 1" (orig. aired Mar. 24, 2008) While working to locate a missing local girl, Allison learns about secrets from Cynthia Keener's past. Meanwhile, Joe's relationship with Allison is tested after Bridgette's science class project sparks his imagination. If you are not reading a listing by eBay seller "wilbert_son", it is has been copied & pasted without permission and against eBay policy "WICKED GAME PART 2" (orig. aired Mar. 31, 2008) A shocking and brutal conclusion awaits Allison and Cynthia as they delve into the decade-old case of the kidnapping and murder of Cynthia's daughter. Meanwhile, Joe tries to get funding for a new invention and Bridgette predicts good fortunes for her dad.
What did Weber do in Aftertaste? if this is Arquette's tape I will be seriously upset.
My guess:
Arquette: 'Wicked Game part I': Arquette keeps finding out and being hit with more and more bad news and heavy, and her scenes at the end regarding the children's college fund money... Houston: 'Wicked Game part II'
Houston and Arquette are certain to be in the top 10 of their catagories. Emmy judgers watch both eps, and you have a slam dunk for both actresses as superior support for each other. They both did a wonderful job here.

I'm gonna comment on the PUSHING DAISIES submissions:
Series- Pie-Lette is perfect, but I don't get the Bitter Sweets submission. Great episode, but I liked The Fun in Funeral or Corpsicle better. It's still good and Pie-Lette could make up for it.
Actor- This is a pretty good submission, though he should have gone with The Fun in Funeral. He should get in the Top 10 with this.
Actress- It's good, but her best was Pigeons or Corpsicle. I might have to rewatch this episode to see what was good about it.
Supporting Actor- Finally, the submission that was dead on! Chi McBride picked perfectly! And I just rewatched the episode yesterday and its a hundred times better than the first time around.
Supporting Actress- Kristen is also dead on. Best possible tape for the most part, should get in the Top 10. Ellen and Swoosie picked a good tape, but its a better tape for Ellen IMO.
Oh and Neil Patrick Harris' tape is very good, but IMO, The Bracket is better. This one should get him nominated though.
Originally posted by JJA91 :-): What about Grey's Anatomy's submissions?? I see that they weren't listed. I was just wondering what the cast members picked for their submission?
We're still waiting on final confirmations of the GA episodes.
Originally posted by Boomer: Added the official episodes for MEDIUM...
Arquette ("Aftertaste")
Weber ("Wicked Game, Part 1")
plus the other regular cast members and guest stars Itzin and Huston.
Are we really certain that Arquette submitted "Aftertaste"? Because if this is true, I'm afraid she just shot herself in the foot. There is very little for her to do with much impact in that ep, and she has no real "money" scene, unless you count the last one.
Better choices for her would have been "Do You Hear What I Hear?" (great impact, emotional, and at least 2 money scenes) or "Wicked Games 1 or 2" (very emotional, a couple of great money scenes). Or perhaps even "But For the Grace of God".
I'm surprised Miguel Sandoval didn't submit himself for "Aftertaste". A great one for Maria Lark, given that she had so little to do this season. "But For the Grace of God" is a perfect choice for Sofia Vassilieva. If Arquette really did submit "Aftertaste", then I hope she changes it. Not that she isn't good in it, but she has better eps to submit.
The DVD screener for Medium is confusing because it doesn't really say who is submitting what. But Huston nailed her submission if she picked "Wicked Games pt 2". She should get top ten easily.
G'Day, I have posted this in the Damages thread, but I think it bears repeating here (get used to it, I have a feeling this is going to be one of my pet peeves of the Emmy season):
There is no way in hell that Rose Burn is a supporting actress. She has the most screentime of anyone in Damages, it is largely told from her perspective and the narriative revolves around her as much as Close. A top 10 slot or nomination for Byrne would be the most obscene case of category fraud at the Emmys in recent memory (since Grammer for Wings) and would take away from one true supporting actress who puts in great performances each week (including Damages own Griffiths). Hopefully the Emmys are too smart to buy into this or we could very well see the acting awards decend into a category for big name lead actors and unknown lead actors. And it's a shame because in my opinion she gives a performance that warrents the strongest consideration in the lead category. If FX or Burns have any respect for the Emmy awards and supporting actressess in general they will change her submission to lead.

I wholeheartedly agree with Byrne being a lead actress. I was shocked when she got nominated for a Golden Globe in that category. She is much more present on the show than Close even and it all really revolves around her in a lot of ways. I happen to really not like her on the show and do not think she is deserving of any nomination, but a Supporting Actress placement is much better for her. Lead actress should be split among the 7 likely candidates (Arquette, Close, Driver, Field, Hargitay, Hunter, and Sedgwick), whereas Supporting Actress is pretty much wide open. The 3 (or 4, if Sara Ramirez is popular) Grey's Anatomy candidates might get in, and otherwise probably Rachel Griffiths and maybe January Jones for Mad Men. People keep saying Candice Bergen, though I'm pretty sure she's not submitting herself like last year. Much as I'd like not to predict Byrne, I think she has a pretty damn good shot of making it in for Best Supporting Actress. Category fraud indeed.
