Their second season, which is unofficially its last (per their decision due to difficulties in writing so many songs, not low ratings), aired from January to March 2009, so it is in the 2008–2009 eligibility period. (I still have not seen the last eight episodes!) They used up basically all of their old songs in the first season and have a wealth of original songs to submit this year.
I'm glad he at least has "Motherlover" to submit. I'm also wondering, Flight of the Conchords was cancelled this season, right? If so, do they still get one last chance to submit songs, or was last year their final chance?
The show aired in this eligibility period, so the songs that are eligible to compete will be in the running for this cycle.
Congratulations, Primetime Emmy Winners!

Something about "material not published in a different medium" or crap like that, probably.

Does anyone know when they are going to do the judging panels for the Guest Acting categories? When they do, will we find out who made the top 10 in all of those categories?
For Your Grammy Consideration: Kristin Chenoweth - in all eligible categories
"The Office" - Creed Bratton for supporting actor (surprising only because nine other guys were put forward in the category)
"Chuck" - Scott Krinsky, Mark Christopher Lawrence, and Vik Sahay were submitted in the supporting actor category, but Adam Baldwin, Joshua Gomez, Ryan McPartlin, and Sarah Lancaster are not in the supporting categories for the show.
"ER" - Scott Grimes and David Lyons not submitted for supporting actor (if ER was still on the radar, then Grimes could have been a contender). Anthony Edwards and William H. Macy were not submitted for the guest actor category. Alex Kingston and Laura Innes were not submitted for the guest actress category (Kingston was in two episodes), while Sherry Stringfield (smartly) submitted for "In Plain Sight" rather than "ER." Edwards certainly could have been a contender, as could Macy.
"Friday Night Lights" - I'm surprised the show didn't put forth recurring characters such as Derek Phillips, Brad Leland, Liz Mikel, Kevin Rankin, Dana Wheeler-Nicholson, Kim Dickens, and Louanne Stephens.
"Southland" - Only Ben McKenzie, Regina King, Michael Cudlitz, and Shawn Hatosy were submitted. C. Thomas Howell could have been a guest submission, and Kevin Alejandro, Tom Everett Scott, Michael McGrady, Arija Bareikis are also series regulars who were not submitted.
As for guest submissions, I can tell that the following people submitted these episodes:
Andy Buckley (The Office) - "Broke" Idris Elba (The Office) - "New Boss" John Larroquette (Chuck) - "Chuck Versus The Seduction" Gaius Charles (Friday Night Lights) - "Hello, Goodbye" Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights) - "New York, New York" Jeremy Sumpter (Friday Night Lights) - "A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall" Ellie Kemper (The Office) - "The Michael Scott Paper Company" Amy Ryan (The Office) - "Business Ethics" (as previously stated) Nicole Richie (Chuck) - "Chuck Versus The Cougars" Pamela Reed (Parks & Recreation) - "The Banquet"

Megan Mullally really should have went with Old Christine. Just because 30 Rock is the more critically acclaimed doesn't mean your guaranteed a nod. Plus the Christine episode had a gay/lesbian storyline, something the old ***s at the academy love.

30 Rock is an Emmy favorite. Old Christine is not. Mullally's odds are infinitely better with 30 Rock.
Nice to see Universal throwing Jay Leno a bone with the feature campaigning for him this weekend. The 2 x 1 feature jammed into the top of the screen last weekend was so small.
Universal has been plastering this site with ads lately. I am not feeling so good about Real Housewives of whatever, but I would love to see Steve Carrell and The Office gang. LOL.

C'mon "The Office" has had its fair share of face time here.

Yeah, I think that you missed it (it was not up for too long--30 Rock had a much longer stay). So far, I think that we have had Burn Notice, Dexter, In Plain Sight, House, Late Night, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Office, Saturday Night Live, The Real Housewives, The Tonight Show, 30 Rock and a couple of more NBC Universal-produced cable shows. Friday Night Lights, Heroes, Parks and Recreation have been featured in the sidebar in group promotions.
Darn, I did miss it then. I remember all of those except Dexter and The Office. I had a crazy few days about a week ago, though. I definitely missed a day or two here. Darn.
It is kind of weird to see this level of campaigning through ads on this site. It just seems kind of funny to be seeing ads for shows that get a fair amount of negative commentary here. (Ahem, Heroes.)

I know many predictions for Guest Actress in a Drama Series are going to a few actresses who guest starred on Law & Order: SVU like Brenda Blethyn, Carol Burnett and Ellen Burstyn(whom I'd like to see nominated). I just hope that Emmy voters don't forget about Teri Polo from her turn on the show. I completely forgot about how great she was on the show too. I just remembered her last night while watching a different episode and I was irked because I thought she was on during last year's eligibility and snubbed so I check and found out she guest starred this season. Anyway, I think I will have my fingers crossed for Teri Polo on nomination morning.
