She was also submitted in the supporting category last year.
Lots of new info has been added or changed throughout the drama, comedy and movie sections (top of this thread). We'll keep adding more as it becomes available.
Thrilled to here that the ER alum will compete in the Guest Catagories. Couldn't be more thrilled, because if there's any justice, Anthony Edwards and Noah Wyle will be real threats for nominations (hell, I wouldn't be surprised if George Clooney sqeaked by on name recognition alone).

Anthony Edwards and Noah Wyle gave wonderful performances as guest stars on ER this year. I really hope one or both can get nominated. I am much more hopeful now that I know that they can indeed be nominated as Guest Actors.
Though, I hope with these two, plus Danson in Guest that Patrick Fischler doesn't get overlooked. I feel like I have seen him in *everything* this season. His performance on Mad Men was really great.
G'Day, Boomer is Clooney not submitting himself or have you just not had it confirmed one way or the other yet?

I would contest that anyone with 4 minutes of screentime over an entire season should be in the guest (not lead) category. To say he's the lead because he's the lead is not a valid argument.
To determin someone's placement 3 things need to be evaluated: Screentime (ammount of episodes), Centrality to the story and Who's perspective the story is taken from (although unfortunatly actors often add a 4th - what do I have a better chance with?)
The performance matters and it's fine for an actor to reasses on a year by year basis. By the way I don't know what Dempsey should be in this year so I'm not saying he's made the right call.
Congratulations West Wing, Emmys most honored drama. 27 Emmys including 4 best drama series "What's Next?"

If this is the case, then Erica Durance as Lead Actress for Smallville is unwarranted. She was only in 12 episodes of a 22 episode season, and her contribution to the storyline was lacking tremendously. Apparently it seems the reason why she considered herself as Lead Actress is solely based on the character's name and prestige in other media, however that wouldn't be the case for Smallville.
The only actress in Smallville who should be in the Lead Actress Category should be Allison Mack, however I doubt she would submit herself.
Only Stamos is getting into the supporting actor race for "ER"? Scott Grimes had an excellent year and would be a threat if there was still any love for the show. Even David Lyons had better work than Stamos.
Do you know if the two of them will be submitted, Boomer or Tom?
ETA: Great to see "ER" oldies putting their names forward. The only ones missing are Clooney, Laura Innes, and Alex Kingston. Kingston was actually in two episodes.

I just hope Beau Bridges won't pick "My Name Is Earl" over "Desperate Housewives". And it really makes me wonder what will be Zeljko Ivanek's choice for Guest Actor in a Drama Series.

I could imagine that Ivanek would go with his "House" performance. It was a big, baity performance on a show that does fairly well with the Emmy voters -- not to mention that he did do a great job with it.

Plus, Ivanek is one of the few guest stars on House who didn't get scenes completely stolen from them by Hugh Laurie. I actually think having Laurie in the scenes with him would help him. I thought they worked together really well. There are still panels in this category, right? Although, there seems to suddenly be a lot more competition in it than I thought there would be.
I am glad that PBS is submitting Judy Parfitt in Supporting for "Little Dorit". I could see her being like Eileen Atkins last year. A respected veteran actress who has never gotten much acclaim finally winning a prestigious award.
For Your Grammy Consideration: Kristin Chenoweth - in all eligible categories
L.A. Times screening series for several Emmy contenders (including Battlestar Galactica, Californication, The Cleaner, In Plain Sight, Rescue Me, The Shield, Sons of Anarchy).
I really hope USA pushes for "In Plain Sight", while I don't see Mary McCormack getting a nomination (even though she SHOULD) due to the already crowded Lead Actress field, Lesley Ann Warren NEEDS to get a nomination. Anybody who has seen the show knows that.
