But if I can put in my 2 cents, I thought she was so great in her episodes on The Office and she totally deserves a nomination!

She should've won, but this isn't the Oscar thread and Tilda Swinton is a phenomenal actress and was great in Michael Clayton so I don't mind her winning and at leat it wasn't Cate Blanchett for that Bob Dylan business.

Did anyone find out if with the new system there could be a tie and there be 7 nominees in a category? Because at one time someone thought with the new system it wasn't possible.

I'm pretty sure ties can and do happen with a straight up popular vote. We did have a Top 11 last year in one of the drama categories.

I don't remember reading anything about a change. Seems like there could be ties in a popular vote, as there have been in the past. The new rules appear to be more inclusive (with 6 nominees) rather than exclusive, so they would probably welcome the chance to have a 7th here and there (providing less opportunities for people to complain).

Dan Castellaneta, The Simpsons (Homer, Krusty, Barney, Grampa, Kent Brockman, others)
Hank Azaria, The Simpsons (Apu, Chief Wiggum, Moe, others)
Seth MacFarlane, either for Family Guy (Peter, Brian, Stewie, Quagmire, Tom Tucker) or American Dad (Stan, Roger)
the surprise nomination: Kristin Chenoweth, Sit Down, Shut Up (Miracle Groh)
and someone who does narration for either a PBS or HBO special.

No, I did not forget Harry Shearer; there must be a reason he never won an Emmy, and now the voiceover artists on the committee can make it five times as clear that they don't like him for whatever reason. (As soon as Comedy Central airs non-DVD Futurama episodes, they can do the same to Billy West.)
Maybe Mike Judge gets one for King of the Hill (he's Hank and Boomhauer), since this was its last full season.

Since this is a full-blown category now, I wonder why the people submitted were not listed on the academy's website? I would love Kristin Chenoweth to get nominated for Sit Down, Shut Up. I wish that show would have been given more of a chance, I think it could have worked through the kinks. Is it eligible for any Emmys? I don't remember if it even had 6 episodes?

I have never seen something on television as awful and disappointing as the pilot for that show.

Ok so this has been tough wrestling with who I want to get nominated/vs. who they will actually nominate but here goes.

Best Drama Series
24
Dexter
House MD
Lost
Mad Men
True Blood

I think based on what Tom, Boomer and Rob L. have said....I think for this category it will do a couple things. House is a mass hit that will stay. Lost and Mad Men are there for sure! They keep Dexter showtime pushed it well and it is back for another year. I see 24 returning because of the actors and the technical side appreciating this show. My sixth pick is the wild card and I say HBO will get a nominee this year it will be True Blood.

Best Comedy Series
The Big Bang Theory
Entourage
How I Met Your Mother
The Office
30 Rock
Two and a Half Men

There will be no Family Guy or Weeds they are both way too much for this category. Weeds is just too out there for this award show, and Family could make it I just do not see it happening. I think CBS will do wonders and have three shows in this category.

Lead Actor in a Drama Series
Gabriel Byrne-In Treatment
Bryan Cranston-Breaking Bad
Michael C. Hall-Dexter
John Hamm-Mad Men
Hugh Laurie-House M.D.
Kieffer Southerland-24

I think these 6 will easily be the nominees. I don't think I see them going with anyone else Spader is a possibility but I think they will go without him this year.

Lead Actor in a Comedy Series

Alec Baldwin-30 Rock
Steve Carrell-The Office
David Duchovney-Californication
Jim Parsons-The Big Bang Theory
Tony Shaloub-Monk
Charlie Sheen-Two and a Half Men

What can I say the Emmy's love Shaloub and he is a good actor. I wish Sheen could be replaced with some one like Lee Pace but I think PD will be forgotten.

Lead Actress in a Drama

Glen Close-Damages
Sally Field-Brothers & Sisters
Holly Hunter-Saving Grace
January Jones-Mad Men
Anna Paquin-True Blood
Kyra Sedgwick-The Closer

I think Jones will be in, but I also think Hunter will make this list.

Lead Actress in a Comedy Series

Christina Applegate-Samantha Who?
Toni Collette-The United States of Tara
Julia Louis Dreyfuss-The Ne Adventures of Old Christine
Tina Fey-30 Rock
America Ferrera-Ugly Betty
Mary Louise Parker-Weeds

I do not think Poehler will make it here she will probably make it in supporting actress.

Supporting Actor in a Drama Series
Patrick Dempsey-Grey's Anatomy
Michael Emerson-Lost
William Hurt-Damages
John Mahoney-In Treatment
William Shatner-Boston Legal
John Slattery-Mad Men
