Pretty steller choices (although any 6 episodes from series one would have easily been the best submissions), with Missing Kitty being the only imo notable omission (I probably would have replaced Buster).
Congratulations West Wing, Emmys most honored drama. 27 Emmys including 4 best drama series "What's Next?"

I just watched Desperate Housewives 'No one is alone' episode s2 and i totally agree Marcia Cross shouldve submitted it. I was actually in histerics during the balloon scene and the cake scene and her final scene when she checks herself into hospital was so emotional.
I totally think she couldve won with this tape but instead we had Dreyfus win for her seinfeld comeback!! Do youse think Marc Cherry had anything to do with Marcia submitting 'next'?? He must actually think he is helping them and i hope Cross picks her best tape this year!!

i've always read it's marc cherry who picks their emmy submissions.because in 'no one is alone', felicity huffman has some good stuff, some people thought marcia submitted it in order to not give the emmy to huffman like she did the year before. i dunno, i thought even next was a pretty good submission, and i'd have her as a strong contender there. but no doubt 'no one is alone' was an unbeatable episode
i'm gonna do a little list on what i think should've been the sopranos acting submissions over the years. i'm gonna put lorraine bracco in supporting and i will state the main contenders frm the cast even in the years they weren't nominated.

^Good choices, overall. =) I really wish Lorraine Bracco had gone Supporting since the beginning, she was never lead and I would bet money she would have at least one Emmy for her role as Dr. Melfi.
Anyway, here's what I would've chosen:
1999 James Gandolfini - Isabella Edie Falco - College Lorraine Bracco - The Legend of Tenessee Moltisanti & I Dream of Jeannie Cusamano Nancy Marchand - 46 Long & I Dream of Jeannie Cusamano (Wasn't that the episode where she had the stroke and was smiling in the hospital? I think so.) Dominic Chianese - Pilot & Boca Michael Imperioli - Meadowlands & The Legend of Tenessee Moltisanti
2000 James Gandolfini - Funhouse Edie Falco - Knight in White Satin Armour Lorraine Bracco - Big Girls Don't Cry & Toodle-****ing-Oo Nancy marchand - Do Not Resuscitate & Funhouse Aida Turturro - Guy Walks Into a Psychiatrist's Office & Knight in White Satin Armour Dominic Chianese - Do Not Resuscitate & House Arrest Michael imperioli - D-Girl & From Where to Eternity
2001 James Gandolfini - Amour Fou Edie Falco - Second Opinion Lorraine Bracco - Employee of the Month & Another Toothpick(?) Aida Turturro - Proshai Livushka & Employee of the Month Dominic Chianese - Another Toothpick & Second Opinion Joe Pantaliano - University & Amour Fou
2003 James Gandolfini - Whitecaps Edie Falco - Whitecaps Michael Imperioli - Whoever Did This? & The Strong, Silent Type Joe Pantaliano - Christopher & Whoever Did This? Drea de Matteo - No Show & Watching Too Much Television
2004 James Gandolfini - The Test Dream Edie Falco - Sentimental Education Michael Imperioli - Irregular Around the Margins & Long Term Parking Steve Buscemi - Rat Pack & Sentimental Education Drea de Matteo - Irregular Around the Margins & Long Term Parking Lorraine Bracco - Two Tonys & Cold Cuts
2006 James Gandolfini - Johnny Cakes Edie Falco - Mayham Michael Imperioli - Luxury Lounge & The Ride Lorraine Bracco - Mayham & Mr. & Mrs. John Sacrimoni Request (Although she didn't really have anything this season...) Dominic Chianese - Members Only & Johnny Cakes (Isn't that the one where AJ tries to kill him?)
2007 James Gandolfini - The Second Coming Edie Falco - Soprano Home Movies Lorraine Bracco - The Blue Comet Michael Imperioli - Walk Like a Man Aida Turturro - Soprano Home Movies Dominic Chianese - Remember When Robert Iler - The Second Coming (Because I thought he should've been nominated...)
hey!! thanks for posting your opinion too! i think the sopranos' past submissions is a really interesting discussion for us emmy junkies, since they could've won a lot more emmys if they didn't screw up so many times, whether in category placements or actual submission choices.
i'm gonna comment a bit more on 99 since it was where we disagreed the most.
in 1999, falco didn't have much to choose from and gandolfini gave probably his best performance ever on the show in 'isabella'. as for marchand i think 46 long was the winning tape, with 'isabella' as a really funny and witty complement, since that's the one where she runs away from the nursery home and tells the cop to shut up. WOW! imperioli would submit 'the legend of..' and either meadowlands or a hit is a hit would be fine submissions. i went with a hit is a hit because the biggest chunk of the episode is a bout him and de matteo. finally, bracco was very good in the finale when she almost experiences physically tony's anger. people have remarked the dinner scene in 'the legend of...', but i didnt think it was a particularly good episode for anyone besides imperioli. 'meadowlands' was where she and tony were closer, and i loved that scene where her and her date get pulled over. the pilot would also be a very good introduction to her character.
in 2000 everyone could've won, but pretty much all of them screwed up (i still dont get how gandolfini won with 'happy wanderer'). turturro should've been nominated instead of marchand (no offense to her), and bracco was funny i 'toodle fu*kin-oo', but i preferred her almost-fight in the restaurant in 'house arrest'. falco was also very good in 'commendatori' and 'full leather jacket', but 'the knight..' was the best choice
in 2001 we agree in almost everyone, but i'd have bracco submit the 'he is risen', since it is a good (not great) follow up to the raping, since she mentions it a lot with elliott. plus, her session with tony is particularly interesting.
in 2003, i do think gandolfini was very, very good in whitecaps; but it was his biggest risk. he's completely shadowed by falco, and 'whoever did this' showed more range and it really showed how tony really is. de matteo had 4 possibilities: 'no show', 'watching too much..', 'pie o my' and 'the strong silent type'. any combination of 'no show' with one of the other three would be a fantastic pairing (although tyne daly was unbeatable that year). falco had tons of submissions to choose from, but whitecaps was the obvious unbeatable choice. 'eloise' would've also made her a lock
in 2004, we only disagree on gandolfini, but i do think the test dream would be an amazing submission, since it's an episode exclusively about him and it is pretty challenging acting-wise to perform on a dream for a whole hour, and he was flawless in it. i went with 'two tonys' because it's his softest moment on the series when he's practically begging melfi to go out with him. falco had a lot to choose from, but 'sentimental education' is probably the longest screentime in an episode she ever had on the entire run. but 'unidentified black males', 'marco polo' and 'all happy families' were all very good, emmy deserving choices.
and yeah, lorraine bracco would've definitely won the emmy in 2001 if she had gone supporting. maybe in 99 even, since they clearly didn't want to award marchand (who screwed up her submissions)
i'll post my 2006 picks in a second! please reply

i finally got through season 3 of THE OFFICE. another brilliant season. though not as good as season 2. and definitely not as funny as 30 ROCK's entire first season. but nevertheless, very worthy of the Emmy nomination.
what really sorta miffed me was John Krasinski's glaring omission for the 2nd consecutive year. for me, he's miles better than Rainn Wilson and should've been given a nomination. anyway...
does anyone know what episodes John Krasinski, Angela Kinsey, Melora Hardin, and the rest of the supporting cast submitted for Emmy consideration?
Hi, this is the list tjat goldderby put on the web
The Office (Jenna Fischer - The Job) The Office (Kate Flannery - Women's Appreciation) The Office (Melora Hardin - C0cktails) The Office (Mindy Kaling - Product Recall) The Office (Angela Kinsey - Traveling Salesmen) The Office (Phyllis Smith - Phyllis' Wedding)
The Office (Leslie David Baker - Traveling Salesmen) The Office (Brian Baumgartner - Phyllis' Wedding) The Office (David Denman - C0cktails) The Office (Ed Helms - The Return) The Office (John Krasinski - Business School) The Office (Paul Lieberstein - The Negotiation) The Office (B.J. Originally posted by vozas: yeah, i would have Edie Falco win 5 emmys:
- 1999: the only one that i could've seen beating her would be Julianna Margulies, but she was fantastic in 'College' - 2000: Sela Ward was better than her and had more screentime, even if Falco had gone with 'The Knight in White Satin Armor' - 2001: the range she displays in so many different situations in 'Second Opinion' are brilliant and she deserved that win - 2003: 'Whitecaps' - 2004: maybe Jennifer Garner, but come on... even with 'All Happy Families' Falco deserved that emmy, especially after such a good season for her - 2006: lets face it, as good as Mariska Hargitay was in '911', both Falco and Conroy had better tapes. But Conroy is supporting, and Falco has probably her second best episode ever in 'Join the Club'. She deserved to win her 5th emmy for that - 2007: they gave her nothing to do the whole season, and her storyline was almost a guest-actress one, so she obviously didn't deserve to win
I'm right there with you! I mean, seriously, I would've given her five Emmys in those exact same years. I truly think that Edie Falco portrayed one of the best characters in TV history with Carmela Soprano. It boggles my mind, still, that she wasn't even nominated in 2006. I actually predicted her to win this year, but I think that was probably more wishful thinking than anything else because I had no clue who to pick in Lead Actress, Drama.

yeah i had her too although she didnt deserve. i just thought they would correct past mistakes where they clearly didn't watch the tapes. in 2004 there is no logical explanation for awarding allison janney over pretty much any of the other nominees who are really leads on their shows, and in 2006 they simply did not watch the tapes, because she was a sure lock on that category.
in join the club and throughout the entire the series. you can mount an argument that she wasnt lead in the first and last, but besides that she was a leading force of the show. and yeah in join the club of course she was lead. she stands in the episode for as much time as gandolfini and the episode is pretty much about her dealing with him. conroy is and always was supporting. i mean, even ambrose had more to do than her

I don't get that at all. Both actresses played similar characters, each was a piece of an ensemble and both had character arcs in each episode. What exactly do you mean by "leading force"? Screentime?
first sorry about thinking you wanted to fight, my bad.
as for leading force, i've never seen conroy as it. krause, griffiths and hall? definitely, especially the fischer brothers. but ruth never felt as important in SFU as carmela was in the sopranos. i perfectly accept (though i do disagree) that she may have been supporting in the first season where she just had about 2/3 episodes where she played lead, them being the finale, college and pax soprana. but from then on, and especially from the 3rd to the 6th season including, she had a constant and extremely important arc and she is, obviously, the closest character to the heart of the show that is tony. her storylines never felt secondary, especially in the 5th season during which she was divorced from tony.
but being supporting is not a bad thing, nor does it less honouring than being lead. i mean, some of the best performances in several tv shows are from supporting actors, and had conroy gone supporting, she would've probably won in 2006. anyway, supp actress had two major snubs: katherine heigl (for '17 seconds' and the finale) and rachel griffiths (for 'coat of white primer' and something else i dont remember). both of them should've been nominated instead of candice bergen/blythe danner and chandra wilson. oh and smart definitely deserved to be there, but griffiths and heigl were fantastic in their seasons

I have no problem with a supporting performance it's just that I don't see where Carmella and Ruth differ in regards to a "leading force".
In your words Christopher should be a lead character as well because he had character arcs that directly related to the character of Tony and was just as close to him as Carmella - he may not have been married to him but damn if they weren't closely connected. In actuality and in regards to the majority of the storylines on the show he feels even closer to Tony because he directly relates to both families.
I would go out on a limb and say Carmella was more secondary than Christopher for the majority of the show.
Algrl07, i've updated what i think should've been their submissions. i had some of them wrong. just two questions: why would you have bracco in 'toodle...' instead of 'house arrest' and pantoliano in 'amour fou' instead of 'he is risen'?
in 2005 people only submitted after they were nominated. unfortunately, sheridan was snubbed in favour of conchatta ferrell, which is was terrible. i thought about that the other day, how had she been nommed and submitted 'everyday a little death' she had one of the FUNNIEST scenes of the 2004 and 2005 season (if not the funniest, and i'm not exagerating), when she throws mrs hubers ashes in susan's face. it would've been the biggest laugh out loud moment from that category
