The Holly Hunter predictions are very troubling. Look what a high popular vote score can cause.
The prediction I love is Jim Parsons in lead actor, comedy. I know it won't happen but it nice to see someone else thinks his work deserves Emmy attention.

Holly Hunter is an Oscar winner and a two-time Emmy winner. Her and Sally Field probably finished first and second in the popular vote.
Field, Hunter and Close are 100% locks because of their pedigree. I think Sedgwick is also in because that show and her role are so damn popular these days. Arquette, Driver, Hargitay, etc. are in for a dogfight. I bet this category has six nominees.
Wow, that is really surprising to see all those picks for Holly Hunter. I consider her a contender, for sure. But this list makes her look like she should be a lock. I mean, really? In *this* category? Wow.
I, too, have a feeling that Boomer, Rob and Tom will have the highest scores.
OK, I did some comparing and it went like this for me.
Mitovich: 17 Berman: 19 Ausiello: 23 Richmond and Licuria: 25 O'Neil: 26 Boomer: 29 (I didn't predict Mary-Louise Parker)
I 100% agreed with Boomer on everything but Comedy Actress, Richmond on Drama Series, O'Neil on Drama and Comedy Series and Rob L on Comedy Series.
Oh, I'm so excited! I can't wait.
EMMY FYCS:
Drama Series- Damages Drama Actor- Hugh Laurie Drama Actress- Glenn Close Drama Supporting Actor- Michael Emerson Drama Supporting Actress- Chandra Wilson
Comedy Series- 30 Rock Comedy Actor- Alec Baldwin Comedy Actress- Tina Fey Comedy Supporting Actor- Neil Patrick Harris Comedy Supporting Actress- Kristen Chenoweth

You said nothing about Hunter's show or her performance in it. I'm well aware of her resume but one should not garner an Emmy nomination because of what's on her mantle.
BTW; I'd bet Glenn Close scored number one in the popular vote, but since neither of us can back up our claims our guesses are simply that.

I'm surprised to see so many people predicting Bryan Cranston! I love him and I've only heard good things about him on Breaking Bad, but I think his popular vote was likely low and hurt his chances. Who knows, I wouldn't be upset if he was nominated.
I also find it very interesting that Boomer is the only one to predict Mariska Hargitay. Now, I don't have her in my predictions (she's my number six) but I'm still a little surprised... Elizabeth Moss has the same number of predictions. I guess that fifth spot in this category really is a toss up without Sedgwick, Field, Close, or Hunter getting more than two predictions.
I have my doubts about Lee Pace getting into Comedy Actor. I'd love to see it happen, but I just can't see Sheen, Shalhoub, or David not getting in. Baldwin and Carell are locks.
I didn't know Tom didn't have America Ferrera in his predictions! I hate to sound rude, but I do hope she's not nominated this year. I like Ugly Betty in season one, and I'm happy that she won last year, but I wasn't a fan of hers this year. Although she did send a pretty good tape... I don't have the guts to leave her out of my predix.

So?
I mean really, so?
Prestige and prior award wins help a lot with these nominations. 50% of the nomination is made up of a popular vote. While it may not seem fair it is what it is.
That's why I'm trying my best not to get too bent out of shape about those who won't be nominated on thursday even though they are deserving. Or even those who didn't even make the top 10 and were deserving.

Emmys FYC: Lead Actress Comedy Please view the actual tape submissions and reward for quality...
...Not because of buzz ...Not because the nominee has 3 other Emmy noms ...Not 'cause the nominee is a writer so this would be great after the writer's strike ...Not because the nominee starred in a movie this spring.
Please view the actual tape and reward for QUALITY.

I love the Jim Parsons prediction as well.
Deep down, I'm hoping that one of the five nominees in Comedy Lead Actor end up being one of the two unknowns from the top 10 list.

Just say that to Patricia Heaton and Kelsey Grammer
FOR Your Consideration:
Best Drama Seriesexter, Mad Men, Lost, The Wire & The Tudors.
Best Comedy Series: Ugly Betty, Entourage, Two & Half Men and 30 Rocks
I would really love to see Lee Pace nominated, but I am not expecting it to happen. I guess Shaloub, David or Sheen could not be in. But you also have Duchovny to think about. Anyway, I am surprised to see so many picks for Pace. Hope it happens!
