Episode Synopsis: MEDIUM "Deja Vu All Over Again" (Season 6 Episode 1) - Allison and her family deal with the outcome of her brain surgery and its possible lasting effects. Also, a local television station owner asks Devalos and Scanlon to look into the possible stalking of his sportscaster, who is also his wife, on the season premiere of MEDIUM, Friday, Sept. 25 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS
I'm really glad this show is still on the air. Weber and Arquette do great work and play two of the most "real" and grounded characters on television.
I'm really excited to see what its ratings look like. I've enjoyed CBS's promos for it with "Sweet Dreams" and I think if Love's show stays strong in the ratings than this one will probably have good retention.
I agree with your ratings statements G. Penn. I would also like to see primos JUST for Medium, not always the combo. Hopefully that will change once the show premieres.
I hope to see print ads for the speical Halloween ep!
Great ep, LOVED this premiere. One of my favorite eps. Allison dealing with her post stroke sx was very hard to see...our favorite gal had a lot to deal with. She faced everything with dignity and fortitude, which is why we love her.
The story was fun too. I suspected the wife...only because I recognized the guest star from 'Hung' and thought she would have more to do than be the victim....that is typically how I figure out the guilty parties in film and TV...
Joe getting a green job is perfect.
The use of Al's right hand by the end of the ep was very heartfelt.
Any changes being on CBS besides a better lead in? I would say the tone was more dramatic in a good way, and the music was more powerful.
Arquette really shined in this, as usual. I love how she handles huge pieces of dialogue. her expressions were perfect here. If she had a crying scene or a 'rage' scene, this would be a wonderful Emmy tape. Actually, her subtly made this ep.
Ariel as a smoking, drinking, stripper next week will be fun. Al looks a little more than upset about it...yikes!
Medium wan THE NIGHt with 8.8 million viewers, and a close seconbd was Ghost Whisperer.
While the numbers are not huge, CBS appears to have a solid lineup that wins the night (like Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday....possibly Thursday...and Sunday...)
Bringing Medium to CBS right after Ghost Whisperer has worked out exactly as planned really. There was almost difference between GW and Medium ratings. Two hour episodes of the same show haven't shown that level of consistency.
I thought Arquette was good in the episode and I liked the flickering of her "gift" and then the ending which was nice. There was a good line "having good days and bad days and her good and her bad side" that was funny.
WILLIAM PETERSEN: Well, this is a shock. The only explanation for this is that somehow in the last year, every one of you tried to act with rubber gloves and tweezers.

I'm surprised no one has commented yet. Ooooh, this was a goo-ooo-ood one. "Who's That Girl?" is totally an Emmy submission for Sofia Vassilieva. Damn, she was good! And how great was her interaction with the wondrous Maria Lark as her suspicious little sister? Good stuff.
That ghost didn't know who she was messing with; you do NOT want to cross Mama Tiger Allison.
The opening narration nicely set the tone and mood for the episode, too. I've said this a lot over the past few years, but it's that kind of attention to detail that makes "Medium" such a fantastic show that will stand the test of time. It's really quite ridiculous that it doesn't get nominated for writing and direction or tech categories like costuming, art direction and sound editing. I wonder if it's Emmy's famous blue-collar bias at play?
As for ratings, it fits like a glove in total viewers and demos with "Ghost Whisperer" and "Numb3rs."

I am here! I was very bsuy this weekend but of course saw the show! Sofia did an amazing job, as did Arquette. I would like to see her get a nod for this...Arquette could even sue this as a tape...she is so damn good at being a concerned mother.... The mystery was not mysterious, nor was it really intended to be....the mystery was how they were going to save Ariel, basically....
This season is shaping up nicely.
The ratings were solid and Medium won the night in demos and total viewers. You can;t ask for more than that.
The writing has been strong this season, as the directing has been.
It is a good show and the whole cast is giving their best. Miss Vassileva is a tremendous young actress (she has already given performance of her lifetime in "My Sister's Keeper") and she showed her range in this particular episode.

Loving this season so far. The first episode was awesome, and the way they showed both Allison's struggles with her physical and psychic disabilities, as well as how the family was coping with it, was fantastic! Patricia Arquette was in fine form in this one.
The second ep was pretty good too, but just felt off to me. The performances were great, and the story was great, but the writing just didn't seem to feel right to me. But without a doubt, both Patricia Arquette and Sofia Vassilieva could use this as an Emmy submission. Patricia's portrayal of Allison's concern and fear was palpable, and there were a couple of great money scenes in it for her. Sofia Vassilieva continues to grow and impress me as an actress. She has an incredible talent and range, and does a fantastic job of holding her own with someone as talented as Patricia Arquette. I particularly loved the scenes with the two of them, when Allison was pleading with "Elena" to give her her daughter back. Jake Weber is phenomenal, as always. And how much did you love "grumpy" Marie, complaining about Bridgette's snoring and demanding her own room?! Too funny!
Can't wait to see the next ep, Painkiller, with guest stars Oded Fehr and Martha Plimpton. When Allison's friend dies suddenly, she suspects that a hospital employee may be responsible. Great story. Awesome guest stars. What else can you ask for?

In the 100th episode, an infant is kidnapped from Allison's neighborhood, and she becomes so determined to find the child that Joe fears she may have become obsessed. Meanwhile, Bridgette attempts to learn how to play the clarinet, but it turns out Marie is a natural. Airs: 10/23/09
Looks like a wild one! The previews show Allison spraying a woman in the face with mace...yikes!
Hey Guys! Baby Fever was wierd anf fun. I was thinking the mother was involved so I was thrown way off, which was nice. The striaght forward story actually WAS the twist, except for Allison's asctions causing the police to be at the house, saving the baby. I liked that.
Arquette was outstanding as usual. I am pleased that they are giving her emotional work to do this season (similar to alst season), so there is more connection between her and the people she helps.
'Night of the Living Dead'...."Bite Me" next week.
Great to see Medium doing well in tge ratings too, and winning the night!
