Can you believe we're up to Cycle 13 already? (The first debuted May 20, 2003.)
Anyway, this is the short-girl season. It debuts Wednesday, Sept. 9, 8:00 p.m.
CLICK HERE for the photos and mini-bios of the modelettes, including their height.
No word about a replacement for Paulina Porizkova. But otherwise, the prizes remain the same.
All of this season's guest judges have been revealed. CLICK HERE if you wanna know who they are.
Gossip: Nigel Barker has been quoted saying that every so often ANTM gets a crazy bunch of girls, and this cycle is just such a cast. (Sure, Nigel, like it happens by accident...)

This 'short girls' thing is stupid. Good luck finding a legit career in high fashion, ladies.
Looking at the pictures it looks like Courtney has the most polished, high fashion look. I could see a face like that in any Euro fashion campaign. She's a dead ringer for a young Natassja Kinski, too!
Nicole, Rachel and Laura have the most interesting looks, imo. With this year's focus on short girls it's kind of amazing that they only picked one Asian girl (Jennifer). And it doesn't look like there's a plus size model to be found in this bunch, which is surprising.
Brittany, Ashley, Erin and Lisa look like boring choices, but maybe they'll be interesting.
Kara looks like someone, I can't quite put my finger on...
Is Sundai Indian? Rae, Lulu and Bianca are pretty but I don't see anything that interesting about their looks.

Kara reminds me of Elizabeth Hurley, Patsy Kensit and Petra Bagust sort of rolled into one, together with the hostess from "60 Minute Makeover"

Skylight, I don't they've announced if anyone will fill the Janice/Twiggy/Paulina slot.
Here's an interesting tidbit from an Associated Press article on Tyra. A regular complaint for the last seven or eight cycles is that Tyra has been pulling back from interacting with the modelettes, which is part of what the show so watchable the first few cycles.
Here's the quote:
"Banks also will be front and center for the new run of her series 'America's Next Top Model,' which debuts with a two-hour episode at 8 p.m. EDT Wednesday on CW.
"This time around, women who are 5-foot-7 and under -- generally scorned as short by the fashion industry -- make up the field of contestants. 'I feel like it's my calling to open up stereotypes of beauty,' whether in life or on the runway, said Banks. She ended up feeling especially close to the aspiring models and spent more time with them than usual, which viewers will see on air. 'I wonder if it's because they're shorter and felt like little sisters,' mused the 5-foot-10 Banks, who's also a judge and executive producer for the show.

Some ratings numbers from Marc Berman/Programming Insider:
"A two-hour edition of deteriorating America’s Next Top Model on The CW averaged 3.24 million viewers (#5) and a fourth-place 1.5/ 4 among adults 18-49 from 8-10 p.m., with the half-hour breakdown as follows:
America’s Next Top Model (CW) 8:00 p.m. – Viewers: 2.95 million (#5), A18-49: 1.3/ 4 (#4) 8:30 p.m. – Viewers: 3.17 million (#5), A18-49: 1.5/ 4 (#4) 9:00 p.m. – Viewers: 3.40 million (#5), A18-49: 1.6/ 4 (#4) 9:30 p.m. – Viewers: 3.45 million (#5), A18-49: 1.7/ 4 (#3)
One year earlier, ANTM opened with 3.51 million viewers and a 1.7/ 5 in the demo on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, which makes this a loss of 270,000 viewers and 12 percent in the demo."

WOW! This cycle is proving to be one of the best cycles yet. Most of the girls had a good photo and I loved the theme of the photo shoot this week. Good job Tyra!
SYNOPSIS: "The president of Wilhelmina Models, Sean Patterson, gives the aspiring models a rude awakening with some real world advice. Meanwhile, the girls get one-on-one time with Tyra, as she teaches them to 'smile with their eyes.' This week's photo shoot takes the girls to Santa Anita Race Track where they give Lady Godiva a run for her money. This week's guest judge is 'The Hills' star and clothing designer, Lauren Conrad."

Last night's elimination had to be one of the most obvious ploys for ratings this show has ever pulled. Are you effing kidding? I was sure the model eliminated was going to last straight through to the end.
And good Lord, Tyra's craziness was on full boil last night. Loved the baffled reaction by one of the models when Tyra went off on that pepperoni tangent (you had to be there...)
And "smize"? No, Tyra. Just...no.

SYNOPSIS: "The ladies meet with Miss J for tips on how to perfect their strut to prepare for their first runway show for designer Kevan Hall. One girl opens up about a former abusive relationship, and petite supermodel Jaime Rishar is this week's guest judge."
