As we have offered for several years, it is time once again for the GoldDerby TV Awards. Please read through the following rules and instructions before sending your nomination ballot.
2008 GOLDDERBY TV AWARDS RULES & INSTRUCTIONS:
1. The complete list of categories is listed in the post below. Any television program released in the United States for the first time June 1, 2007 through May 31, 2008 is eligible for these awards.
2. You may vote in as many or as few categories as you choose. If you choose to vote in a given category, you MUST offer exactly THREE (3) ranked nominees. Any more or any less will cause that category to be ruled invalid on your ballot.
3. Rank your THREE (3) nominees for each category in order of preference. In our tabulation system, your first choice will receive 30 points. Your second choice will receive 20 points. Your third choice will receive 10 points. The top FIVE (5) vote recipients in each category will officially become the 2008 GoldDerby TV Awards nominees.
4. Please send your complete ballot by Private Message (PM) to one of the following people. If your GoldDerby nickname begins with A-G, please send by PM to andrew. If your GoldDerby nickname begins with H-P, please send by PM to Rob L. If your GoldDerby nickname begins with Q-Z or a symbol/number, please send by PM to Boomer. The Private Message function can be located in your Personal Zone area. I am asking that each of these moderators post in this thread so that you can easily click on their name to send the PM.
5. All ballots must be received by midnight on Saturday, June 28. The nominees will be announced in a Chat Room ceremony and in a thread in the Emmys forum on a date to be announced later. Instructions will then be given on how you can vote during July for the final winners.
6. Please feel free to campaign for a few of your favorite choices in this thread. This can serve as a good reminder to your fellow posters about programs and performers you would like for them to consider. Please only list a small limited number of your favorites. DO NOT POST YOUR ENTIRE BALLOT IN THIS THREAD OR ANYWHERE PUBLICLY ON GOLDDERBY.
7. Thanks for your participation and one final encouragement... These are your votes for your favorites. Don't feel so locked into what you think others want you to choose or what you think is "appropriate". Vote for programs and performances you've actually seen and not those that you've only heard about. Your votes will be private and will not be made public.
