It is my understanding that this year hosts of award shows will be nominated with the program in the category of Special Class Program. Assuming The 62nd Annual Tony Awards is nominated in this category, Whoopi would also be nominated.

Whoopi has been nominated for 6 Primetime Emmy Awards, but has never won. If she were to win she would join the prestigious group of a few individuals who have won an Oscar, Tony, Grammy, and Emmy. Whoopi has won a Daytime Emmy, but not everyone considers that as equivalent to the Primetime Emmys. But if she did win this year for the Tonys, everyone would agree that she has won all 4.

I think the odds of her finally winning a Primetime Emmy are pretty good, considering the Tony Awards have won the Speical Class Program category the last 2 years in a row.

It's a shame she can't win an individual performance award, she was a really great host.
