i guess nobody else made one so here is an offical thread for this season of DWTS.

What is everybody's thoughts on the first episode of this season? any favorites yet?

so far i'm liking Shawn Johnson, That SATC guy giles, and shockingly Melissa Rycrof... I thought Holly Madison was okay on so little rehersal but not great.

I am rooting for Belinda Carlise though because i really want Jonathon Roberts to win this year. he's my favorite professional dancer and i think he should win... plus he's so hot.

and i thought Steve Wozniack was awful, the worst of the night. I can literally picture Kathy Griffin laughing her butt off about this...

I found this season premiere way more entertaining and fun than the last few... I'm rooting for Belinda Carlisle...

I think Steve Wozniack and the "Girl Next Door" could be the first ones to go.

LOVE that they brought on the SYTYCD finalists as pros. Dmitry is smokin' and Chelsea is great too!

I enjoyed the premier too although it seemed like they squeezed a lot into the two hours. I think Woz should go. He clearly is the worst dancer.

I am so far not liking Chelsie but i love Dimitry, he is definetly hot as hell and gives Maxism a run for his money in the sexy department (but Jonathon is still my #1)...

I really hope to see Belinda stay and either Woz, Holly or that rodeo guy (jewel's husband) going home.

i wonder why they didn't do a two day premiere this year like they usually do. it's weird.

I wonder why this season is having so many early injuries? It is getting crazy. Maybe they should cut back the amount of time they are training each day and maybe not give them 4 weeks in advance to start?

Hey who is everyone's favorite to win this season?

I'm currently gonna say that Shawn Johnson or Meylissa will win. To be honest either one of them or Giles or even Lil' Kim would be deserving finalist or winners. I'm secretly rooting for Ty Murray since he's trying hard to get the steps down lol. Also does anyone feel that this "dance off" sucks just as bad as the "veto" on American Idol?

I think we have to kind of wait and see what happens, but after the first two weeks I would agree with your four choices for possible winners. Although I wonder if the support for Melissa will drop as the Bachelor stuff starts to die down?

I'm not the biggest fan of the dance off as it just seems a way for the judges to alter the results by heaping points on someone if they want them to stay. It bugs me less though than American Idol because it is not just them saying "No America we gave you the right to decide and now we are taking it back" like AI is trying to do. If your going to let America vote then LET THEM VOTE and stay out of it. I have always thought AI should do their voting like dancing does...let the judges scores count half and America's votes count half. The dance off does seem unnecessary but I will have to see how the season plays out.

I think the final three will be Melissa, Gilles, and Shawn. It's aggravating that the judges always push someone right at the beginning. Let them dance for a few weeks before you crown someone a finalist!

Is anyone else bothered by the favoritism shown to the Hough/Ballas trio? Except for Adam Carolla, they always get partners who are thought to be able to dance, and Julianne and Chuck had an unfair advantage of not wasting weeks getting to know each other. A score of 20 for Chuck and Julianne's salsa??? If that had been anyone else, they would have gotten a score of 15. Steve Wozniak danced more than Julianne's boyfriend. Besides, Julianne's boyfriend is completely obnoxious, and I'm so over the "I don't want to be a girly man" attitude. Is this man so insecure and pathetic that he has to remind viewers that he's a "real man?" I was hoping someone would knock his teeth in.

Crystal I totally agree with you. Everyone knows that Chuck is a man's man, hell he's dating one of the sexiest women rising star. I feel that Chuck is unfortnately gonna be here a lot longer than needed. I feel that this season is completely split between four different groups the contenders (Lil' Kim, Gilles, Shawn & Melissa) the darkhorses (Ty & David) Fan Favorites (Steve-O & Chuck with the help of Julianne) and the Ducks ready to be elminated within the next couple of weeks (Lawrence, Holly, Deniese & Steve W.)

I don't think the Hough/Ballas trio get unfair treatment as far as partners that are picked for them. From what I have heard they give the celebrities personality tests to see who will work with who best. So it makes sense that some of the same dancers end up with the same type of competitors each season based on them being compatable. Remember Mark got stuck with Kim Kardashian last year, and I think last season was the first time Dereck made it to the finals. Cheryl Burke is someone else who always seems to get paired with good competitors (with the exception of maybe Wayne Newton)
