First of all, we do not actually know for sure that this is the show's final season, but I am calling it the final season until proven otherwise because it is in the top tier of shows, busget-wise, it got a reduced episode order this year, has taken a critical beating going from Emmy-nominated for drama series in its first year to only one major publication (Entertainment Weekly) still following it this year (search "heroes season 4" on Google News), commercial support has waned, down around ten million from its peak and forty percent from the same time last year, while ratings have plummeted into the high two ratings in the key demographic. Second, the other part of this thread's title is a real spoiler.

If she does indeed become a lesbian, hopefully they show her kissing, compared to a (now cancelled) show on the air, in which its lesbian couple never kissed...

I can't wait for the day when Tim Kring calls everyone dipsh*ts again. I hope it's the same day the show gets canceled. It'll make a great moment even better!
Thing is, with NBC'e entire scripted lineup underperforming, Heroes is still, even with the ratings for Jump Push Fall, the new lowest-rated episode of the series (until tomorrow night?), it's still the #2 (?) scripted show they've got. Which only reflects on how much in the sh!tter NBC's whole schedule really is right now.

I will keep saying it, these writers are the dumbest people in the whole history of television....They had the most amazing premise ever, the support of pretty much everybody (viewers, critics, tabloids, Emmys) and what happened?
They decided they wanted to make a show with a stupid mythology nobody cared about, a stupid stupid story nobody wanted to follow and superheroes that got their powers constantly taken away and when they had them, they didn't use them, plus the most annoying set of characters in the world....
You cannot promise viewers a show about superheroes and then make it a silly attempt to have the sort of storyline that was going to bore viewers or make them wait and wait and wait for payoff...
Why wasn't this show done as a serial with 3-5 episodes focusing on a villain and having the super heroes fighting them in some sort of Justice League situation?
I'll never stop thinking how ridiculously easy it was to make this show succeed. It was so simple, superheroes, fights, powers, rays of light, freezing, wind, fire, morphing, claws, lighting, telekinesis, mind reading, villains, sidekicks, all the time, everywhere...
Freaking Smallville is doing a better job at it...
It was a f-cking show about superheroes and there are a million superhero comics and stories around, they could've copied anything and would've come out on top....but no, this thing they have right now, that's the better idea.
This premiere was as dull as the previous season was, nothing to see here and nothing to care about.
The worst part is that I'll keep watching until it ends...
I can only hope that somebody out there is thinking about doing another show about superheroes and doing it right AND SIMPLE because the idea is so easy and so slam dunk that people will forget about this train wreck automatically....

Thing is, they actually copied a lot of comic books, like "Watchmen" and "Rising stars", but problem is they actually went into just taking elements and mashing them together, they never knew how work the references into a convincing plot.
Plus, the writers did everything possible to make sure the powers were more then analogies for character driven storyline. Not only is that pretensious and sloppy (I know, it's odd they managed to be both), but made the show (that, to be honest was just fun, not genius or anything like it) lose any kind of chance they had to create the smallest amount of depth possible. It's another hollow sci-fi show.

I was expecting maybe one or two responses to this topic, so I guess this thread is warranted.

Two years ago, I had eleven friends who also watched this series; I am now down to two and we continue to watch it for its watercooler factor, albeit we laugh about and pick apart the show like most do these days.
*I love the random outbursts that the main characters make. Claire grunts in the middle of her silent class and Matt starts yelling at the wall during a meeting. Later, one of Matt's coworkers asks if he is okay to do an interrogation and actually just accepts his answer. And to top it off, the detainee admits to everything. Nice.
*I was a bit taken aback by Danko's appearance because I just assumed that he was killed at the end of last season like most single season villains in television.
*The dialogue for Nathan and Angela's lunch was creepy even without Sylar. "I'm sorry, where are my manners? *Kiss* You look lovely, as usual."
*Claire's roommate committing suicide was so random.
*What are Tracy's motivations and goals? First, she goes on a murderous rampage for some reason and then she stops with barely an explanation.
*How did that woman with T-Bag discover her powers. Like, one day, she realized that her back could tell the future when drawn on?
*Who is the main character? And why is Suresh going to be absent until episode 9?
Well, I haven't said this about "Heroes" in a long time, but that was a nice episode.
The new deaf hero whose power allows her to experience the world in a different way (I'm guessing) is a lovely twist on the usual recycled b.s. The actress playing her was quite good, and it was a kick to see Louise Fletcher, of all people, as her doctor.
I hate to think this character will soon have her head chopped off by Sylar or inked to death (ha!) by the new Big Bad villain.
Yes, it was outrageously stupid last episode for Claire to leap from her window in full view of surrounding apartments, and without at least locking her door first, but this episode's subplot involving her opening up ("My life has been a complex series of disasters"; yeah, no kidding!) to Madeline Zima's character was realistically done; Zima gives the character emotional shading that doesn't feel as if it's on the page.
I'm curious to see if the writer and director of this episode are new or regulars.

"Acceptance" Aired October 5 Season 4, Episode 4 Volume 5: "Redemption", Chapter 3 Episode 63 overall Guest starring Ashley Crow, Swoosie Kurtz, Ray Park, Saemi Nakamura As Hiro’s life continues to hang in the balance, he distracts himself with saving the lives of others. Meanwhile, Angela tries to help the new “Nathan” remember his past, at the risk of his remembering too much. Elsewhere, Tracy is determined to get her old job back, but soon realizes that she needs to make more of an impact.
Robert Knepper is promoted to the main cast later in the season per NBC Universal's website, so he will no longer be listed as a guest star.
If they don't end the 3-week series-low ratings in a row with this episode, then there really IS no hope.
Episode 4.5: Hysterical Blindness
Lydia cautions Samuel against bringing in new members to their clan. Peter tries to connect with Emma, who wants nothing to do with him, and Sylar struggles to find the person he once was. Oh, and two women kiss tonight, something NBC has taken stupendous pains to avoid pointing out in the run-up to this episode

Could these two be talking about the same thing? Probably. It's happened before.
Blind item: Fired actor's pink slip hidden in script! by Michael Ausiello
I get that there’s no easy way to lay someone off, but, come on, this is ridiculous: A male series regular on a one-hour drama — a onetime ratings powerhouse — learned that he was out of a job only after reading his character’s death scene in the script!
According to my mole, the popular and well-respected leading man — who tapes his final scenes this week — was blindsided not just by his ouster, but by the tacky way in which it was handled. “He was hurt that the producers didn’t tell him first,” says the source. “He deserved better.”
The real surprise is that, well, anyone was surprised at all. The actors on said show have long been frustrated by the lack of communication coming from the front office. Still, as the insider points out, “This was low even for them.”
So, who’ll be looking for work starting next week? And what show does he currently star on? Here’s the first of two hints: It’s not — I repeat not — Grey’s Anatomy. Look for that second hint in this week’s Ask Ausiello.

Holy Shocker! A Major Death Is Coming to Heroes Today 10:25 AM PDT by Kristin Dos Santos
Ouch.
This one is going to leave a mark.
Sources over on NBC's Heroes confirm to me that a major death is in the works, and this is not one that will go unnoticed by even the most casual fan.
It is huge.
So who is it?
Well, you know how these things go...We can't come right out and name any names. (Unless someone can hook me up right quick with the Witness Protection Program?)
However, I will tell you that this leading character is a male, and he is not necessarily pictured above. (He might be, he might not be.) And he is one of the original cast.
And you thought Hayden's same-sex kiss was surprising, eh?
Clearly the producers are pulling out all the stops this season in an effort to ramp up storylines and pull out a big watercooler-worthy surprise. (aka: they are desperate for ratings)
But I have to say that I, for one, will miss this guy. Big-time.
Now here's the fun and torturous part for you: Start guessing below...
Joe, the two stories are only 78 minutes apart; the two are obviously related. And while Sylar needs to be put down like, yesterday, he wasn't a member of the original cast, if you want to pick nits.
These are the top 4 candidates, IMO:
Adrian Pasdar Sendhil Ramamurthy Masi Oka Jack Coleman (??, a late surge for him in fan opinions)

Adrian Pasdar's character has already been "killed" three times, and he was/is being impersonated by Sylar. So getting rid of Pasdar would make logical sense for the storyline, but logic really doesn't apply to how this show operates anymore. If they do it, I don't know that it would upset fans.
Sendil Ramamurthy's character has had nothing notable to do for ages and hasn't even shown up yet in the current arc. I doubt anyone would care if he was bumped off.
The two fan-favorite characters are Hiro and HRG. Killing them off would *tick off the fan base and generate a lot of angry buzz, so I would lay money it's one of them.
* The word p.iss was blocked out (which I rewrote)! Really? We can't even say "p.iss" on this website now? Geez.
