Really a very well done finale -- those last minutes were really quite touching.

"Late Night with Conan O'Brien" has done relatively well at the Emmys, at least in terms of nominations, so I've never understood why O'Brien himself was never -- never -- nominated for the individual performance award. I think it's about time, and with this touching farewell show I hope it happens.

"A movie is not good because it arrives at conclusions you share, or bad because it does not. A movie is not about what it is about. It is about how it is about it: about the way it considers its subject matter, and about how its real subject may be quite different from the one it seems to provide."
- Roger Ebert, from the introduction to "Awake in the Dark" (2006)

I had recorded the show without knowing it was going to go over by several minutes so I missed the end of Conan O'Brien's farewell speech, and I assume some waterworks, so I will be watching the end on NBC.com today.

Love that they replayed the Old Time Baseball bit. I don't know if it was the best thing ever on "Lat Night", I would probably go with Andy Richter's "Patch Adams" sketch- a schlongascope was involved, but it's close and amazingly hilarious. I love it whenever O'Brian does his turn of the century Yankee act and if he adds a handlebar moustache it is all the better.

I stayed up to watch the Finale and Conan did an outstanding job with class and dignity. Andy Richter added such an amazing flair and chemistry with Conan that made Late Night With Conan Obrien successful. The two of them were back in their zone with each other.

The final minutes to give credit where it is due was the most impactful emotional part of the show. It came truly from the heart of Conan Obrien. He did not want to sign off and did his best to procrastinate and put off the inevitable, but came through at the conclusion of the show.

Giving each audience participant a piece of the set was really nice and a treasure to hang on to. The audience gave a LONG standing ovation and that was the standard in his final week too.

Of course, Will Ferell came out and put his mark of excellence on the show which made it more memorable.

It was a great ending to 16 years of hard work and dedication for Conan Obrien.

(Maybe Andy Richter and Conan Obrien should consider the possibilities of doing a film together sometime in the future)

I just watched his final episode. I have been a pretty loyal viewer of the show for many years. I don't watch every night, but most nights. Conan has always been a favorite. Funny to think that when he first got the job, no one knew who he was and no one gave the show any sort of chance to survive. This was an absolutely wonderful way to end his Late Night run in NY. Hard to believe he has never been singled out for Emmy consideration as host. Shameful. Hopefully he will get in this year, this would be a great submission.

I recorded the final episode as well. I remember watching the baseball bit when it first aired a few years ago, and I totally thought they would show it again on a best of show.

I love Conan, and I'm sure he'll do a terrific job on The Tonight Show. I'm a little in mourning for the 12:30 slot, though. Fallon will surely murder it.

I'm not excited about Jimmy, but I'm giving him a chance.

After all, people were pretty harsh on Conan when he first stepped into Letterman's shoes.

Jimmy Fallen might not be that bad. But good for Conan O' Brian moving up. I love Conan! He's awesome. I had an opportunity to see him, but unfortunately missed it. Sucks....but maybe once he moves to Tonight Show!.

I gotta say, I hope Jimmy Fallen gets used to hosting a show, His opening tonight is cringeworthy! It also made me realize how much I miss Conan O' Brian. Oh well, I hope he does his thing on the Tonight Show! I also hope the best for Fallen and Leno, who will be on even earlier.
