The blend of comedy and drama is flawless and I love the interns esp. "Jo".
I totally agree.

I thought it was great the way that they incorporated the Sesame Street characters into the first episode. It played into the show's absurdist tones really well. The storyline with J.D. trying to soften the tough intern with the lung cancer patient was another strong thread. The second episode with J.D. and Elliot relationship troubles felt a bit retreaded, and Dr. Cox becoming chief of medicine was telegraphed after Kelso tried to convince him not to take it. They should still be able to mine a lot of funny material from Cox being the new Kelso though.

I really liked the episodes last night. The three interns pairing off with the doctors and their disappointment in them felt very real. And the grover/elmo stuff was really funny.
"My ABCs": A-
The second episode was great and it was nice to see Jo(or whatever her real name is) grow in really small ways. I like that they are taking it slow with her and exposing some of JDs problems as a mentor. I really liked Jordan hear, she's always hilarious.
"My Happy Pants": B+
This season is going quite well. It's not as good as season 5, but it is strong. I wouldn't mind seeing a series nomination for the show, even though i know it won't happen.
Eliza Coupe is beyond awesome. The Josh Radin version of the Sesame Street song was absolutely perfect in this episode. Didn't like Cookie Pants as much, but it was still good.
Okay, Lindsay, are you forgetting that I was a professional twice over— an analyst and a therapist. The world’s first analrapist.
I thought "My Cookie Pants" was better than "My ABCs." It tied the stories together better, though I enjoyed the Muppets appearing in "My ABCs." The Eliot-JD plot didn't bother me in the second episode because it was legitimate.

I don't really follow the Scrubs fandom that much, but is JD/Elliot a really popular couple? Of course, it makes sense that it does have a big following, but I wonder if it's pretty evenly split with fans who want to see them together and those that don't.
At one time, I wouldn't have minded them to end up together, but it always seems like JD is interested in Elliot when she's with someone else, and then after they're together he realizes that they really shouldn't be together. I generally like JD, but when the writers go towards that direction, it's one of the few times that I can't stand him. I know Bill Lawrence said that he wanted them to have sex every season, and I would have been okay with that had they just remained friends with benefits instead of all the angst injected into it.
With Ross/Rachel, I didn't mind that much until they brought Rachel liking Joey into the mix which I thought was a bad idea even if there might have been chemistry there, but at least they had angst from the start with Ross pining for Rachel, and her being oblivious, to the roles changing, and then them continuing their on and off relationship until the end of the series.
Anyhow, this is all to say that I totally agree that the JD/Elliot pairing definitely needs to mature.

"My New Role" Something about this episode felt disjointed. Each indvidual storyline worked well(except for the janitor's which was only mildly funny) but they didn't mesh well together. However, the kickboxing nurse was hilarious. And I am so so so so happy that i got to see Elliot sing "Swing low, Sweet Chariot".
Grade: B
"My Lawyer's in Love" I really liked the Bob/Cox pairing. They're great together, it's nice to see they have chemistry in conflict and in friendship. I thought JD's reaction to the pairing was hilarious. I like the way cox was centered in this episode and how the storylines worked. The choices that he had to make felt very real and seeing him miss reading to his son was sad. I was shocked when the lazy doc got fired.
I really like the shifting of roles this season's taking with Dr. Cox becoming the new Kelso and J.D. becoming the new Dr. Cox. It's turning in some new character dynamics, and that's nice to see as the show's coming to a close. I liked the running gag with Janitor's painting bit, and then the sideplot of Carla running interference between the nurses and the doctors. The second one had some good scenes with Ted and the singing girl. I always get a kick out of Ted's acapella group and how they come running to start singing whenever he calls for them (and they threw in some Death Cab for Cutie and Kansas's "Carry On Wayward Son", yay!). I missed Donald Faison in both of these episodes though.

I wondered how they would work an entire episode without J.D. in it, but it was clever to have him on the phone the entire time with Elliot and pestering Dr. Cox like that. Turk and Carla's big news was fun, especially for the non-reaction that everyone had over hearing it and why. I loved the comedy show episode, and yay for bringing back Aloma Wright for a brief scene (Turk's impression of Laverne was hilarious, and her "I do love me some Jesus" line was awesome). The new interns are really growing on me, especially the tough blonde one (or as Kelso said, he likes her b/c she has "girl's balls" LoL). The touchy-feeling orderly was funny in his impressions too (these writers hate Dane Cook!). I liked Carla's scenes where she tricked the janitor into believing that he was making events up in his head too. The reactions from the staff to J.D. and Turk's "bromance" and the reprise of "Guy Love" might have been the best parts of both episodes.

And did anyone see the Courtney Cox & Christa Miller scene as a preview for Bill's new show?
I guess I got the answer to my own question. According to Mike Aussiello over at EW, Christa will be Courtney's BFF, along w/the underatted Busy Philipps (another friend) & Dan Byrd (Courtney's son), on Courgar Town. I can't wait for this show!
