I've always loved the actress that plays Dr. Hahn in "Grey's Anatomy." She is an extremely song supporting actress that has impressed me in films such as "In Her Shoes" and "Melinda & Melinda." I don't watch Grey's, but I was ecstatic to see that not only was she on one of the most popular shows on television but that her role was big enough to be submitted for an Emmy.
So my question is this...does she have a shot? At Top 10 even? Is she given anything juicy on the show, or is that left for the beautiful people? I've got my fingers crossed for her.
If you like Smith's film work, check out "The Silence of the Lambs" and especially "Series 7: The Contenders."
I too am a big fan of hers, but I don't watch "Grey's Anatomy." I'd much rather see her nominated for her excellent guest stint on "Weeds," for which she is also eligible.
"A movie is not good because it arrives at conclusions you share, or bad because it does not. A movie is not about what it is about. It is about how it is about it: about the way it considers its subject matter, and about how its real subject may be quite different from the one it seems to provide." - Roger Ebert, from the introduction to "Awake in the Dark" (2006)

Brooke Smith is great on "Grey's Anatomy" and has adapted well to the dynamics of the existing ensemble. I wouldn't expect her to get nominated this season, though she has a remote chance of breaking the top ten now.
