quote: Strangled. Car accident. Electrocuted. I'm surprised a swarm of locusts didn't come in at the end to finish her off.
roflmao Poor Edie/Nicollette!
Seriously was three deaths really necessary? Give the poor girl some dignity.
I am loving Orson's involvement in this though. Should make some great Bree drama later on. I've always liked Edie, especially when she wasn't being scheming and shady. When she was just a friend to the girls, she was always fun. I'm not entirely thrilled that they're killing her off.
I was expecting more from this episode. I mean we've known for WEEKS now that Edie was goin to be killed off, so I thought that Mark and the writers would come up with a good way to send her off..Guess I was wrong..
There are too many up-tight gay people on this borad..They need to get laid.. holla at me and if your in my area maybe I can help you out..
I was hoping for some kind of karmic retribution there with Edie hitting Orson with her car before dying b/c of Orson's past hit-and-run with Mike. Instead Orson's lame klepto storyline continues (and seriously, that old lady could have had a gun and shot him), and almost convincing Bree to give up her business like that just so he wouldn't feel so emasculated was outrageous. It shouldn't have taken Andrew to talk some sense into like her. The old Bree wouldn't have hesitated to put Orson in his place. Edie's "deaths" were unfortunate, and Nicolette Sheridan deserved so much more than to be sent off like that and caught up in this awful Dave's "kill Katherine in the woods" storyline. The only slight redeeming factors here were Susan and Karl's thread with his son's angry pictures (love it when they bring back Richard Burgi), and Lisa being a bitch to Lynette before Carlos and Gabrielle caught her being horrible to the maid and the kids. So much of the pacing and content was off and ill-advised. They'll have to do a great deal to redeem things when they return.
Grade for "A Spark. To Pierce the Dark": C-

Well I thought this episode deserved a grade MUCH better than a C-. Really? But to each his own because we all know there's no changing Atypical's mind LOL. Anyhoo my criticism of the criticisms with this episode;
First Bree is still the old Bree, she's been putting Orson in his place several times in the past few episodes thus his reasoning for stealing in the first place. She was thinking of selling the business to help her marriage and I think that type of sacrifice is exactly the Bree we know and love. I thought the scene with Andrew was needed and perfect to show that she was making a very selfless gesture to help her marriage but Orson was completely taking advantage of Bree's selflessness and Andrew pointed it out to her that giving up her dream wasn't necessary. And in the end she didn't sell, I'd say that is easily putting Orson in his place, but that's just me.
As for Edie's "deaths" all being disappointing..huh? It was a series of unfortunate events that led to only one death and I thought the scene(s) were more than serviceable.
Karl is easily my favorite male screen partner of Susan's. I don't think I've ever not liked them together. Plus how wild would it be with that ending if Karl and Susan reconciled?!
At first I was annoyed with Gaby in this episode with all the nagging about Carlos being gone all the time. I thought the same as Carlos that Gaby was the reason he took the job for all the money and things he could buy her, but I liked how they had Gaby say she was afraid of the path they were heading down as they were in when we first met them. Good job there, writers.
I think finally all of these storylines are getting much more interesting and I think these final 5 episodes are going to (hopefully) be great. The promos look fantastic.
This episode was easily at a B+ level

You shouldn't want or need to change anyone else's mind about their opinions in the first place.

But I don't think there is any harm in trying to give opposing opinions that may make you think twice about a certain opinion of yours. But apart from that I was just messing with you and I try and make sure I put those big LOL's in there to make it sure I'm not trying to pick a fight. I am serious though that I do think it was better than a C- but thats just me. It is what it is no biggie I ain't mad at ya.

Saying why you liked the episode when others didn't is one thing and perfectly fine, but it's another when it's childishly framed as why the negative critiques are somehow wrong and you're right instead. That's what that came off as.

I couldn't agree more. Episodes like this are too hyped and then I feel letdown. Edie deserved more than this. And frankly Orson has become such a joke of a character, I wish Edie would've run him over.
I really don't know what to say about this episode. We all knew what was going to happen to Edie (maybe not HOW exactly, but I did hear about the car and electrical wire a couple of weeks ago), but while it wasn't exactly a very hype worthy episode outside of Edie's presumed death, I thought it was a solid episode that had some slow points.
I am quite sad about what they are doing to Orson. They were able to redeem him, so to speak, for running over Mike but now they are having him be extremely selfish towards Bree and making him a kleptomaniac. I use to really like Orson but now I am not sure I do anymore thanks to this bizarre storyline. I do, however, love how he was involved with Edie's crash.
I love Susan and Karl together and I would love for them to reconcile. Their chemistry with each other is one of the best pairings I've seen of a couple on here and Hatcher works much better with Burgi than she does with Denton or like she has with Gale Harold or the guy that played Dr. Ron, etc....
I like Gabby and Carlos' stories a lot this season and this one was no different. Now Lynette is incorporated and it gives her some funny stuff to do instead of the drama involving Tom and his now-defunct pizzeria and their kids, etc....
I will miss Edie on the show, but I do think she will be back in flashbacks in the future.
A solid, but somewhat underwhelming episode.
Grade: B

This was a pretty good episode. I don't have a lot to say about it other than the scene between Gaby and Tom was one of my favorites in a long time. =)
I didn't have a problem with Edie's "series of unfortunate events". A bit contrived? Oh yeah. Entertaining? Yes.
I could see this as Nicolette Sheridan's tape, and maybe Teri Hatcher's...? I don't know. Probably not, but I did really like her in this episode. Richard Burgi rocks.
