Hmmm, nice to see Kyle Chandler there.

Surprising to see Dempsey since Pompeo and Matthew Fox didn't make it.

I am really hoping Hugh Laurie can finally win. I truly think he deserves an Emmy for his brilliant work on House. Please Emmys, please? LOL

I really like Jon Hamm, too. But, I think he could win next year. I love Izzard on his show, but I don't think he will be nominated. Hall is great, but I am not sure the voters will go for his show. Of course, James Spader will probably win again, so all of this is moot.

Perhaps it will be:
Hall
Hamm
Laurie
Leary
Spader

Thanks for putting this up before I go to sleep tonight!

Very happy to see Byrne, Chandler and Cranston here. Dempsey is a huge surprise to me, and not a good one. Paxton, Rhys-Meyers or Fox would have been much better choices.

Both Hall and Laurie deserves an Emmy, and I really hope one of them wins this one. I also hope Byrne, Chandler or Cranston can get a nod.

No Matthew Fox or Bill Paxton. Ugh. At least most of the top ten is a strong one. Congrats to Bryan Cranston, Gabriel Byrne, and Jon Hamm as the newbies in the field. I hope that all three of them are nominated in the final cut. It'll be interesting to see what Patrick Dempsey's tape is. I'm glad that they're still remembering Denis Leary here.

Gabriel Byrne! sohappy
I bet he's going to be nominated, since he's HBO's only hope on the category. And I also bet Dianne Wiest and Blair Underwood will also be recognized in their categories.

I'm sad for Matthew Fox. One of the most underrated actors on the air.

And is Michael C. Hall going to be nominated? He must have done well in the popular vote, but can the nature of the show hurt his chances just like it apparently did in the Best Drama category?

My predictions:

1. Hugh Laurie, House (FOX)
2. James Spader, Boston Legal (ABC)
3. Jon Hamm, Mad Men (AMC)
4. Michael C. Hall, Dexter (Showtime)
5TH OR 6TH NOMINEE: Denis Leary, Rescue Me (FX) OR Gabriel Byrne, In Treatment (HBO)

7. Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad (AMC)
8. Kyle Chandler, Friday Night Lights (NBC)
9. Eddie Izzard, The Riches (FX)
10. Patrick Dempsey, Grey’s Anatomy (ABC)

For Your Consideration:

Outstanding Drama Series: Lost
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series: Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad)
Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series: Sally Field (Brothers & Sisters)
Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series: Zeljko Ivanek (Damages)
Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series: Chandra Wilson (Grey's Anatomy)
Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series: Glynn Turman (In Treatment)

Outstanding Comedy Series: The Office
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series: Steve Carell (The Office)
Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series: Christina Applegate (Samantha Who?)
Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series: Jeremy Piven (Entourage)
Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series: Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies)
Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series: Will Arnett (30 Rock)
Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series: Elaine Stritcht (30 Rock)

No Olmos, no peace. And no sale. My final five would have been:

Chandler
Hall
Hamm
Olmos
Dominic West, The Wire

But I think the profoundly gory nature of Dexter may work against Hall. Don't get the Riches love at all. Fox would have made my top 10, but the competition was just too great to go that extra step.

If Chandler gets a nom my thinking the emmy's are irrelevant will quickly go to the wayside! And if he were to win...God I couldn't even imagine!

Good list.

I'm suprised that dempsey made it in, although for the life of me i can't think of a tape for him to submit. He has always seemed more supporting to me. And, i suspect that he would have be going for his third or fourth nom had he placed himself in that category.

Chandler making it in is a nice suprise, but i can't see voters nominating him unless critics were holding guns to their heads.

Rhys-Myers not being here is ridiculous. He is fantastic on his show and got even better this season. The Tudors seems like a show that voters would love, so it's shocking to see it subbed in the two categories it had a shot at making it in. It's suprising because of the shows growing popularity and globe noms. Is he cursed because of his youth?

Predictions:
1. Hugh Laurie
2. James Spader
3. Jon Hamm
4. Michael C. Hall
5. Bryan Cranston

Those 5 should and will be the nominees. Laurie and Spader have great tapes and the academy's affection. Hamm has all the critical buzz and the globe (and voters are too scared of what critics would do to them if mad men didn't score a nom in this category). Hall is on shaky ground because his submission is better for longtime viewers of the show rather than newcomers. He should have gone with "An Inconvient Lie", but being the critic's darling should help. Cranston will have a decent popular voter (7th) because of his Malcom in the Middle days, but his tape should and will blow voters away and give him the nom. I think he can be this year's Michael Chikilis.

Dennis Leary has a good chance to score a nom, but i feel like he'll be left out because all the critical buzz he had has gone to hall, and i don't think the academy likes him that much. Gabriel Bryne could shock people and make it in (like Azaria in 2005), but i think underwood has usurped so much of his show's buzz that panel voters won't feel compelled to vote for him even after watching his tape no matter how good they think he is. His show being in the top ten would have made him a lock, but it isn't.

As much as I 'want' to see Michael C. Hall walk away with the Emmy, I will be happy just to see him nominated.

As for the winner...it's now or never for Hugh Laurie.

As for someone I would like to just see recognized with a nomination, that would be Eddie Izzard.

I think the nominees will work out someway like this.

Locks: Hugh Laurie, James Spader and John Hamm

Thos three are in and the reason I say say Hamm is because Mad Men is the new it show for the Emmy's and they know how to work critical darling, and it will become the show we all talk about like The Sopranos.

The nest two will most likely be Hall because it was widely regarded they snubbed him last year. I think this is most likely they did bring Dexter to CBS for a little bit which garnered it more popularity. The only reason this is not a lock is because of the material.

The fifth spot is up in the air, although there are a few people are out of contention fot this (Dempsey,Chandler, and Izzard)

This fifth spot could go to Leary he's been there the past couple year's and we know how the Emmy's are about their favorites.

Yet my money is on Cranston in that fifth spot with Leary as the spoiler.

So my my five nominees would in order of likeliness

1-Hugh Laurie-House
2-James Spader-Boston Legal
3-John Hamm-Mad Men
4-Michael C. Hall-Dexter
5-Bryan Cranston-Breaking Bad
-------------------------------
6-Dennis Leary-Rescue Me
7-Gabriel Byrne-In Tretmeant
8-Patrick Dempsey-Grey's Anatomy
9-Eddie Izzard-The Riches
10-Kyle Chandler-Friday Night Lights

Yes, Kyle Chandler!

Surprised there is no Matthew Fox or Bill Paxton, but other than that this is a pretty decent list.

I have a feeling Bryan Cranston will sneak into the top 5. Here's my predictions...

Hugh Laurie, House
James Spader, Boston Legal

I feel like IN TREATMENT could be this year's Huff; a low-rated but enjoyed cable show that got Oliver Platt, Blythe Danner, and Hank Azaria nominations its first season.
Everyone(including myself) has been predicting Hall, Laurie, Hamm, Leary, and Spader all year, which makes me think there could be a surprise. I don't see how Dempsey, Chandler, or Izzard can get in this year, so maybe Byrne or Cranston will knock out Leary. If Hall is snubbed again though this will be an outrage!

This is a good list. Wish Olmos was on here, but Chandler is great, as is Byrne and Cranston and the rest of the usual suspects.

Great list, asides from the ommision of Bill Paxton. Looks life the voters really didn't dig their "Kingdom Come" submission; it was submitted for Series, Lead Actor, and Supporting Actress (Zabrinske), and all three were left off the Top 10. It's sad 'cause it was one hell of a tape.

That said, I'm thrilled Bryan Cranston made the Top 10. That alone has pretty much made the Emmy season so far. Now if he can get the nod (and win) I'll be all set.

1: Hugh Laurie, House
2: Jon Hamm, Mad Men
3: James Spader, Boston Legal
4: Denis Leary, Resuce Me
5: Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad
6: Michael C. Hall, Dexter

I love Michael C. Hall, but he's the only guy I'm a little nervous about. Last year, everyone figured he was a lock for the nod after both SAG and GG nods. But alas, he was snubbed, as was the show for the most part. Here's to hoping voters warm up to his brilliant performance; it's about time the guy finally gets some Emmy love.
