I wasn't complaining in my comments to PaulHan. I was addressing his complaints. I am largely happy with the nominees. I wish "Dexter" was up for nominee and as Jimmy Smits was in every episode I think he should be in supporting rather than guest. Also wish "The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency" made the line-up... but I always thought being little seen and people not sure whether to vote for it in comedy or drama would hurt it. That all being said I am thrilled as hell "Chuck" made it in comedy and "Breaking Bad" did so well. As such I am very happy overall.
And I did vote as I do every year but I watch mostly shows on cable so my choices often do not match the group as a whole. Shows like "24", "Brothers & Sisters" and "Lost" are a mystery to me.

Great nominees! Great to see bigtime recognition for Breaking Bad (F** YA: Best series!!!), but I too feel January Jones should've replaced Colbert in performer of year.
Voting is certainly your right... to participate or not is your choice.
I just want you to all be aware that some performers and shows made our nominees list by one single vote. Similarly, there were several others that missed out by one vote. A first place vote counted for 30 points, second place for 20 points, third place for 10 points. 30 whole points could swing two or three positions in some cases.
We generally have about 100 voters for our TV and film awards, so your vote can truly make a difference.
As for the negativity, it does not relate only to this specific subject. I notice it in practically everything discussed in all of our forums. You might like 90% of something (an episode, movie, awards, whatever), and yet often you focus your comments only on that 10% that you do not like.
It's not just on GoldDerby, but almost in every walk of life. I guess I am more of a "glass half full" person than the empty sort. Focus on the positives throughout every day, and your life becomes so much more enjoyable.
"In Treatment" should have been recognized more, but the "Breaking Bad" love is great to see, and then all the "30 Rock" nods. I was hoping Tina Fey could have made it into Variety Performer. I love seeing Patrick Fischler and Melinda McGraw made the guest acting categories.
Congratulations, Primetime Emmy Winners!

Oh my. I was joking when I said I was afraid my not voting would hurt Breaking Bad's chances. Now, I am not so much joking about it. Okay, I promise to vote next time around!
Although, I am mostly happy with this group of nominees. I think GoldDerby has done a great job with its nominees over the years. Often I like our nominees better than the Emmys.
I haven't been really following Chuck except for a few eps last season. So, I must say I'm quite surprised it made into the Series category. Definitely one show for me to follow.
And Party Down, I haven't seen at all. And of course, being a litte-seen show, I think it's not surprising it's not nominated.
And the Jeremy Piven love has finally died down, I guess, since he's not nominated this year. Haha.
Yay for Pushing Daisies! I hope it gets recognised too by the Emmys. And 30 Rock love too.

Comedy Series - Wow, DH is out for the first time! But this line-up is very nice. '30 Rock' has it.
Comedy Lead Actress - I was right about Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. I'm very happy that Eva Longoria Parker is in. Please, don't forget about Mary-Louise Parker's stellar job on 4th season of 'Weeds'.
Comedy Lead Actor - Great line-up. It's Steve Carell vs. Alec Baldwin all the time. Good to see Lee Pace.
Comedy Supporting Actress - Tough as always. I'm shocked to see Elizabeth Perkins and Vanessa Williams all again and Jane Krakowski finally is recognized.
Comedy Supporting Actor - Justin Kirk out again... Oh well! I didn't expect 2 noms for '30 Rock' here. John Krasinski should win.
Comedy Guest Actress - Wow, we snubbed Oprah Winfrey! And it's 'Friends' reunion (blind item was probably about Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox, wasn't it?).
Comedy Guest Actor - Yay for Beau Bridges and Albert Brooks! Jon Hamm and Steve Martin are overrated here. Dean Winters should be back.
Comedy Episode of the Year - 3 for '30 Rock' - that's huge! Great to see DH's amazing 100th episode among nominees.
Drama Series - Very strong line-up. The best in years, I think.
Drama Lead Actress - Fantastic group. I'm glad Ellen Pompeo finally receives her 1st nomination from us. And Calista Flockhart over her on-screen mother - now that's a shock! (after last year rain of noms, now only one for B&S!)
Drama Lead Actor - Just like last year with Cranston over Fox. Who's gonna take it?!
Drama Supporting Actress - My biggest regret is Sandra Oh's snub. But I have to say all nominees are deserving.
Drama Supporting Actor - I like this line-up too. It makes me wonder if Terry O'Quinn's decision to not submit himself to the Emmys costs him a nomination here.
Drama Guest Actress - Amazing 5 performances! I'm happy about Bernadette Peters.
Drama Guest Actor - Hmmm, no Eric Stoltz?
Drama Episode of the Year - I hope votes won't split and one of 'Mad Men' episodes can take it.
TV Movie or Miniseries categories - I think we picked the best.
Are you counting nominees in categories "Performer of the Year" and "Breakthrough Performer of the Year" into total classification? Because I can see 2 nominations for 'Parks and Recreation' while it has only 1 nom - for Amy Poehler and 'The Office' has 7 nominations without Steve Carell's POTY nomination. In the same time, '30 Rock' has 17 nominations without Tina Fey's POTY nom so I'm a little confused.

Is this really true? I'm gonna try this today. Boomer, you're like a virtual Dr. Phil. Thanks.

I'm happy about some nominee's, the only thing that upset me was the gabillion nominations of 30 rock, that's enough to make me puke, but other than that I enjoyed the nominations.
Hey moviebuff144. How the heck could you miss the voting notices for the Gold Derby Awards? The thread was pinned to the top of the forum forever and a day? "Last chance to vote," etc. etc.
By the way, I still can't remember which "movie" poster you are. That's still confusing me.
Nice set of nominees. Most of what I voted for got through.
FYC: January Jones - lead actress in a drama series and breakthrough performance Patrick Fischler - guest actor in a drama series The Office - best ensemble
No "Big Bang Theory" for Comedy Series? Tsk, tsk. Otherwise, I think we did pretty well.
Hemingway once told a friend he was considering giving up writing. "But Ernest," the friend protested. "You love writing!" "No," corrected Hemingway. "I love having written."

I know! I guess people on this forum do not watch the show as it is considerably funnier than 30 Rock whose season was mediocre at the very best.
Sorry but I have tried to watch "Big Bang Theory" and find it just to be a bunch of lame, dated, 80s nerd jokes (reminds me of "Revenge of the Nerds") and the acting is broad as a barn. I'll admit Jim Parsons gives an original comic performance but I think Johnny Galecki is flat-out bad on the show from what I've seen. The supporting cast annoys me. I've tried watching it three times, since some people rave about it, and I follow the "three strikes and you're out" rule so it has had all the chances I am willing to give.

Chloe Sevigny is the best female dramatic performer of the year along with Alison Pil and January Jones.
She was robbed.
In 2009 the three best TV female performances in a drama series were all snubbed. Shame to Emmy voters for not nominating January Jones, Alison Pil and Chloe Sevigny.
