Why did The Office submitted a gazillion episodes? But I still think they'll get nommed.
My predicted noms so far: The Office (Goodbye, Toby) The Office (Dinner Party) 30 Rock (Rosemary's Baby) 30 Rock (210) Ugly Betty (Bananas for Betty)
I hope DH will get a nom here as they submitted their best episodes, and that How I Met Your Mother will steal a nom.
Once again helmetz, thanks!!

Please consider the following performances:
Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies) Julia Louis Dreyfus (New Adventures of Old Christine) Steve Carell (The Office) Hugh Laurie (House) Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother)

It dosn't help to give the voters so many episodes to sort out, but imagine being a writer on the Office and being told "we arn't going to submit your work because we think someone else's is stronger and he has a better chance of getting in if you don't run". I think ther Office is doing the right thing by giving all its writers a shot.
Thanks as always Helmz! Of the episodes listed that I have seen here are the 5 I think are best: 1. PUSHING DAISIES, “Pie-Lette” 2. THE OFFICE, “Fun Run” (Parts 1 & 2) 3. 30 ROCK, “Greenzo” 4. 30 ROCK, “Rosemary’s Baby” 5. HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, “The Bracket”
Congratulations West Wing, Emmys most honored drama. 27 Emmys including 4 best drama series "What's Next?"

"The Office" and "Samantha Who?" should have streamlined their choices some more than that. "The Office" at least will get in for something, but it might just be for one episode. "Californication" should have campaigned for "California Son" -- it's sad that they're not going to bat at all for that episode. Good choices for "30 Rock", and "Pushing Daisies" was very smart to only go for "Pie-Lette" -- they have a strong chance of getting in now. The overall list comes off as lacking though.

I liked those two episodes of Ugly Betty but I really don't get why they are not submitting for anything "Zero Worship". I think it was their best this season.
No Six Feet Under and The Shield in 2006, no Deadwood and The Shield in 2007, no Big Love in 2008..how the best shows don't even make the top ten list?

Because different shows have different numbers of writers the ammiunt a show can submit varies. The same way some shows will have more supporting actress submission than other shows.
Here is a confusing explanation from Page 57 of the Emmys rules and procedures 2008:
quote:
Entrants must have, either by themselves or in conjunction with other story or teleplay writers, at least 50% credit-share of the entered program. Some possible combinations: sole writing credit = 100% for sole writer; 2-person shared writing credit = 100%/2 = 50% for each writer; teleplay credit for 1 writer and story credit for 1 writer = 60% for teleplay writer and 40% for story writer; 2-person shared writing credit for a teleplay and 2-person shared story credit = 60%/2 = 30% for each teleplay writer and 40%/2 = 20% for each story writer. Entrants can put their credit percentages toward only one entry per category.

Ohh, I see. So the different writers submit the episodes they think they can win with, the way the actors do. I was thinking of it more of like a series as a whole thing.

The office wil be nommed for "Dinner Party" by far the best episode of the year. Melora Hardin deserves the emmy for that episode alone. I wish they would feature her more!
Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series Jack Burditt for 30 Rock ("Rosemary's Baby") Jennifer Celotta & Paul Lieberstein for The Office ("Goodbye, Toby") Greg Daniels for The Office ("Fun Run") Tina Fey for 30 Rock ("Cooter") Bryan Fuller for Pushing Daisies ("Pie-Lette")

Very smart move from 'Pushing Daisies', pilot was their best episode so far. I don't get why 'Ugly Betty' is always picking one of the weakest episodes of the season, 'Something Wicked...' and left out killer episode like 'A Nice Day For A Posh Wedding'. 'Desperate Housewives' learned they lesson from last year when they choosed too much episodes. 'The Game' is the best, 'Now You Know' and 'In Buddy's Eyes' are pretty good too. IMO, putting 'Something's Coming' here is wrong - it will take votes from another 3 episodes, while script isn't the most important there but directing, visual effects and a few awesome performances.

Where is English Teacher?
I'm sorry for my English. I know that I'm making stupid mistakes. "DH learned they lesson from last year. They choosed too many episodes then." Was that better?
