I always thought that Mike has no family while in this season we're gonna meet his parents. His father is in jail but his mother isn't so there is a question: why she wasn't there when he was in coma? I hope that we'll find out. This episode looks amazing!

Kyra Sedgwick for the WIN!

Well I dont know what we are gonna see in tonight's episode or if Mike's mom will say she was not in the hospital for some reason. The thing is though they may not mention it at all. We may just have to assume she was there. TV shows cant show every waking moment of their characters lives. We have to assume alot as we only get 30-60 minutes a week.

It is entirely possible that she lives far away or she was there from time to time yet never met Susan because Susan may have been with Ian by that time.

Ugh.

The way Edie just found out the Bree/Orson/Benjamin thing was SO CONTRIVED and stupidly written.

Sh!t like that makes me not want to watch the show. Couldn't they have a better way for her to find out than have her HAPPEN to wonder by after Orson HAPPENS to write down everything on paper (Who does that IRL? NO ONE) and the door to his building isn't even locked so anyone can just walk RIGHT INTO an apartment without a key?

Really. I know there was a writer's strike but that sucked.

Has Celia Weston been sick?

She's experienced a pretty significant weight gain in the last few years.

What the hell?? I'm sick of seeing Katherine crying every week. I could care less about this crappy Dylan who's my daddy and did he beat my mama storyline. Marc Cherry and co. need to tone these characters down next season. I don't care for it.

Academy of Television Arts and Sciences: Changes need to be made regarding the Primetime Emmys. Having just ONE good tape in an entire television season should NOT be enough for a Lead Actor or Lead Actress to secure a nomination!

Academy of Television Arts and Sciences: Please don't just rubber stamp the well known names and/or previous Emmy winners. That's insulting to the other actors and actresses who have done great work and are deserving!

That was a fantasitic episode.

Episodes that usually lead up to the finale and set things in motion typically aren't my favorite, but this one was really great.

Susan- What a wonerful storyline. Very funny. I love the fact that mike's mom was southern and this storyline provided the most laughs of the night. I am however very disappointed that teri hatcher, slapstick queen, didn't get a birth episode. I think the writers really screwed her on that one. Celia Watson has been one of the funniest guest actresses this season. Her and Hatcher had alot of chemistry and i wouldn't mind seeing her score an emmy nomination.

Gabby-The way gabby found the drugs was very contrived, but as usual longoria's character got alot of great one liners. I really liked the interplay between her and carlos in this episode, and the ending was really touching.

Lynette - wow is that little kayla evil or what. I don't know how anyone could get mad at lynette for slapping that child after what she said. Bree would have had her over her knee from the time she said corn dog. The therapist scenes were really funny, but this storyline was mostly dramatic. I think it set up alot of great things and was really interesting to watch.

Bree/Edie - wow. I've never thought this before but Bree is really a bitch. I think it's wrong what the girls did to edie considering Bree was messing with the woman's livelihood. Screw over her life on wisteria lane, but don't make her miss out on profit and lose money and expect her NOT to strike back. Bree was really manipulative here and i didn't like it. The show did a great job at making Edie sympathetic, and best of all we got our catty manipulative edie back. I loved the scene where she told bree that she owned her. This storyline was well written and the opening scene from the three perspectives was GREAT. Funny and entertaining.

Katherine/Dylan/Gary Cole??? - i liked where this went. Gary cole was good here, and finding out that the child wasn't his was really hurtful, finding out that she wasn't the orginal dylan was even better. I'm wondering if the "grave" that katherine visited earlier this season's was dylan.

Overally this episode was entertaining. Lots of drama, but some great comedy too. The opening scene was really enjoyable and all 6 ladies storylines went in really interesting directions.

I wonder why Nicollette Sheridan didn't submit this though? Sure she has no chance since she didn't even make the top ten last year, but she was great here.

And why didn't they provide teri hatcher with an emmy tape. I would have loved to see her give birth. I wonder what's going to happen in the season finale with her character?

Episode Grade: A-
MVP: Nicollette Sheridan

At days end Edie is a whore and she didn't need to be scraping up her friends' leftovers. That's dang nasty. That's not a friend. It's just plain disgusting. I don't feel sorry for that loose woman whatsoever. Bree should have kicked her in the ass.

Birth episodes are overrated. I'm glad that they fast forwarded through that. Although given the fact that Cherry and co have given a ton of bait to Felicity Huffman this season (cancer survival, tornado wail, upcoming stuff) you'd think they could have spread the bait a little more and given Teri Hatcher something.

If I had been in Lynette's position, I would have beaten Kayla a long time ago. Tom is a wimp and needs to grow a pair or two.

Good riddance for now whore-Edie.

Um....she's a child.

There's no excuse, EVER, for assaulting a child.

I was glad that Tom stuck it to Lynette on that point, because she deserved it.

I do hate, however, the idea of Kayla as Patty McCormick.

Kayla is a manipulative little bitch. Kayla did make a threat about Penny to Lynette. After seeing how Kayla encouraged Lynette's idiot son to try to fly off the roof and injure himself, I would have been afraid for my other children too.

I hope Tom finally sees Kayla for what she really is because I'm getting sick of him defending her to Lynette all the time. I would have brought a tape recorder to get all the mean things Kayla said and showed it to Tom then he would believe Lynette.

Next year's Emmys, I want to see "The Shield" nominated!

If this is the sentiment that 'Desperate Housewives' is trying to encourage -- i.e. beating a child, i.e. " a little bitch" is okay, then that's just gross.

I think it was a given fact that Edie is a whore and that it was really hard for her to have friends in Wisteria Lane.

Plus, birth episodes are really overarted by awards-hungry. Jennifer Aniston, Jane Kaczmarek etc got nominated for brth episodes.

Are you serious?
She did not "beat" or "assault" Kayla.
She slapped her one time across the face because she literally threatened her daughter's life. The little bitch deserved it and more and if someone had ever said anything about my child, I would do the same thing no matter who they were.
And I'm not a Lynette fan either, but let's not be unfair and say this show is saying it's okay to beat children. That's plain ignorant.

Can we start banning people again? Some of the new posters in this thread should really calm it down a bit.

As for the episode, I thought it was great!

Susan - I thought Teri Hatcher was particularly funny towards the end of the episode. The fake labor in the restaurant was great and the REAL labor was performed perfectly by Hatcher. This woman deserves a nomination this year after being snubbed of a win in season one and being left out of a nomination in season 3.

Bree/Edie - I wanted more from this storyline but I thought what we saw was great. The opening scene was great! Marcia Cross and Nicollette Sheridan performed well together. I loved how Edie was the first to find out about Benjamin and the confrontation with Bree. I'm also glad they showed all 4 ladies still getting together at Lynette's and how they all teamed up together to confront Edie.

Lynette - I loved Felicity Huffman in this episode. She was hilarious in the scenes with the therapist, especially when Kayla came to give her a hug. She was also incredible in the scene when she and Kayla were shopping. Felicity gets my MVP for this episode.

Gabrielle - This was my least favorite storyline tonight but even it was pretty good. I like how they integrated Ellie into the Solis household and how she and Gaby have become friends...which makes the cocaine twist all the more interesting.

Katherine - The pieces of this puzzle are finally starting to come together. I have my own theories as to what really happened with Katherine and Wayne and who the real Dylan is. I can't wait for this conclusion. BTW, does anyone know if Dana Delany will be back next season?

Next week is the finale and I'm super excited to see what they have to close the season with.

Lynette hit a child.

That's assault, and it actually goes one step further and is battery.

Physically abusing a child, irrespective of context, is NEVER okay.

I just think it's so silly to go back from prior years and say people deserve make up nominations and wins. Are people ever going to get over the fact that Teri Hatcher lost? Maybe the Emmy voters saw something better in Felicity Huffman. Maybe not. 2005 is history.

Let's deal with the here and now. It's more fair to everyone involved. I don't want to see Teri get a nomination at the expense of another actress who has been terrific this season simply because she didn't win the Emmy in 2005 and because she was allegedly snubbed of a nomination last year. (To be honest, I think Hatcher submitted horribly last year so screwed herself)

Okay, well, here and now, Teri Hatcher deserves to be nominated for the work she has done on the show this year. I was not saying she deserves to be nominated because she was snubbed in seasons 1 and 3.

Wow! That was probably my favorite episode of the entire season! I can't wait until next week.

Susan - This was so much better than I thought it would be. I actually really liked Mike's mom being there, she was pretty funny. Remind anybody of Marie Barone? Haha. Anyway, I may just be stupid or something but I thought Susan was going to like, throw the club soda on Adele, lol, never even thought about faking that her water broke. Teri Hatcher was very funny in this episode.

Bree/Edie - First off, I loved the introduction! =) Loved seeing manipulative Edie from seasons one and two back again! That's what Nicolette Sheridan does best, and she was fantastic in this episode, as was Marcia Cross. I definitely didn't expect for Bree to tell the girls that Benjamin wasn't her son, but I love that she did. I love seeing all the ladies together... and poker's back! Even if it was only for about three seconds. On another note, I really, really hope that Bree and Orson get back together.

Lynette - Kayla annoys me sooo much! Grr. I get where Tom's coming from, but he doesn't see Kayla when she's being vindictive towards Lynette. The person who said Lynette should take a video camera is absolutely right. Good thinkin'. I would've slapped Kayla too if she said that about my little four(?) year old.

Gabby - I usually don't like Gabby's character or storylines, but tonight was definitely an exception for me. I, too, love that there's a relationship that has formed between her and Ellie, and I thought Eva Longoria Parker acted it out well. I also just like where this storyline is going in general.

Katharine - Very entertaining. See, I suspected that the grave Katherine went to was Dylan's, but then I kind of backed away from that when I saw that her dad wanted to see her again (mainly 'cause I thought that he was the one who killed her). Now, I'm back to my original theory, lol. I really do like this mystery, and there were some definite advancements in it, tonight. I'm glad that we finally know that Dylan's really not Dylan. Heh.

Episode Grade: A+
MVP: Teri Hatcher (Although I really think this was more of an ensemble episode.)
