Mo'Nique really seems to be on top of the world right now with her new late-night show and Oscar buzz for Best Supporting Actress for Precious.
Already she has guests like Steve Harvey, Chris Rock, and Soledad O'Brian scheduled for the show.
Discuss.

So tonight is the first episode! Her first guests are Steve Harvey, Monica, and Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin.
One more thing which I meant to mention, Mo'Nique makes history tonight as she will be the first ever black female late-night talk-show host! Good luck Mo'Nique!

You must be forgetting Whoopi Goldberg, who hosted the late night talk show "The Whoopi Goldberg Show" from 1992 to 1993.
Oops! Sorry. I read an article and it said that she was making history. I forgot about that though. I'm guessing that the journalist should start to worry about their job now!

Is the show filmed in Atlanta??? If so...I need to be in that audience. I wasn't able to catch the first episode last night, but my friend who saw it said it was a mess and that that's why they watch The Wendy Williams Show. Now...I've seen The Wendy Williams Show, and THAT SHOW is a mess (although a funny one), but if they thought Mo'Nique was worse than Wendy Williams, then YIKES!!! Can't wait to see for myself if its good or bad.
For Your Grammy Consideration: Kanye West for "Heartless" and 808's & Heartbreak Adele for "Hometown Glory" Taylor Swift for "You Belong With Me" & Fearless Maxwell for "Pretty Wings" & BLACKsummer'snight Kings of Leon for "Use Somebody" The Cast of GLEE for "Don't Stop Believin' " Mariah Carey for "Obsessed"
The premiere was a hot mess, but there's time for it to grow into something better I guess. As for Mo'Nique, she was all that I was expecting her to be, but there probably won't be a middle ground with her, meaning you'll either love her at level ten or hate her at level ten. Not sure I'd want Academy voters watching this yet (or maybe ever), which shouldn't be an issue either way, but still. She's a born entertainer, and you really can't take your eyes off of her. She's just . . . wow. You don't know what she's going to say or do next, and that I like.
Congratulations, Primetime Emmy Winners!

Hmm...yeah, I like Mo, so I'll probably tune in tonight to watch it for the first time.

I liked her interview with Steve Harvey. I think Mo'Nique is hilarious anyway though.

I don't mean to sound like a cynical jerk(well that's not completely true lol), but I pray that Oscar voters watch this train wreck show enough so that in a few months we'll all hear...."and the Oscar goes to....Judi Dench!"

Yeah, I agree with you here Atypical! I like Mo'Nique a lot, but I hope that many Oscar voters won't see this show either! I too think that the show will grow into something better as well and I will definitely watch future episodes here and there, but yeah, the show was just an all over the place "hot mess." Mo'Nique looks really great with all of the weight that she has lost, but I think she needs to like tone it down a bit... especially the yelling! Boy was she screaming with excitement too much! Mo'Nique is hilarious though, but I think you could tell that she was a bit nervous as this was her first taping. I've seen her in other interviews and she's seemed more relaxed and naturally funny (as oppossed to lines written on some que card and you could totally see her looking at that and not the camera). That's the Mo'Nique that I want to see!
