I've rewatched Season 1 of Boston Legal and I have to say it gets better the 2nd time around, especially William Shatner. He gives just knockout performances all season and he had two excellent tapes that he submitted. He definitely deserved his Emmy. He very easily could have gone lead with his tapes. BL is a very good show and I was surprised that it got better the second time around, it ususally isn't that way (at least for me) with David E. Kelley shows.

Yeah, I quite enjoy Boston Legal, too. Especially any and every scene that either Spader or Shatner are in.
Curb Your Enthusiasm, Fifth Season, "The Ski Lift" I have to admit, I've never really liked this show. Sometimes there are great episodes. This is not one of them.
The whole show revolves around Larry David going around town, and being a jerk to everyone he meets. I just don't find that funny. I don't find someone that insensitive to be amusing. Nor do I find manipulation of others to be funny.
In this episode, he selfishly doesn't want to give his friend his kidney, so he manipulates the head of a kidney foundation into getting his friend's name higher up the list. Along the way there are kosher jokes and jokes about "large vaginas" (which I really found offensive.
I dunno. I just don't find much to like in this show. Except Cheryl Hines, who is luminous and far better than this show deserves.

I rewatched this one and I absolutly didn't remember that Ellen Pompeo was guest-starring. Whou would have imagined that one year after she would have become the leading lady of the hottest show in television.
Season 10 wasn't a good season for Friends, but this episode was really good. Danny Devito was funny, don't know if enough to deserve a nod,but funny. The all girls/guys thing in the eighties of course was the best part of the episode, and I laughed really hard watching Monica and Rachel dancing at the party.Finding out that Ross kissed Monica was hysterical.
The weakest link was LeBlanc(as usual),and..this was his Emmy submissions. Perry with The Birth Mother and Schwimmer with the series finale would have been even competitive, but sadly he was the one nodded.
Overall grade: B+/A- MVP: Aniston and Cox Arquette.
In 2009 the three best TV female performances in a drama series were all snubbed. Shame to Emmy voters for not nominating January Jones, Alison Pil and Chloe Sevigny.
Lost, "?" (aka Question Mark) The episodes I really like the most of Lost are the truly spiritual ones, the ones that resonate with psychic stuff and the big questions. The ones I don't like as much are the day to day bickering between the natives.
Luckily, FINALLY, this was one of the former. The two most spiritual guys on the island (O'Quinn and AAA) hang out and solve some big problems. Or almost do.
Two things that I kept hoping would happen, but didn't: that Libby would squeek out more than just "Michael", and that the tape room that Locke found would have tapes from recent hours, and that they would see on the tapes what had happened. That would have been cool, but perhaps it's too modern a technology.
I think there are only a couple of episodes left, but I wonder if they really will be able to answer any of the big questions that came up. I also really hope that next season Lost doesn't get so far off track, like it did this time.
And anyone who doesn't think Jorge Garcia should be nominated should watch this episode. He's just heartbreaking.

While I love the show, just have to remember not to take it all to seriously Miche, I definitely agree with you that Cheryl Hines is the best part!

Six Feet Under - All Alone: i'm not sure if this is the episode's title but whatever...it's the episode with Nate's funeral.....I gotta say, I've always watched Six Feet Under and even understood when people turned their back on the show for going downhill, I didn't watch all of the episodes this last season because of the time slot on HBO Latin America....but whatever....this episode was amazing, it was the single best episode I've seen in a loooooong while from this show. Everybody was incredible, specially Hall and Conroy and Griffiths near the end....The episode was wonderfully written and I specially loved how funny it was at times considering all that was going on......
Really really great episode, just for this, I want them nominated for everything.....just 2 episodes to go...let's see how this turns out.....
Saw The Office's Christmas Party and I loved IT!!! Many Great Moments like at The Party. Loved the Ending when Meredith Flashed Michael and then he took a Picture A

Commander in Chief, "First...Do No Harm" This episode, for me, was where this show started to go south. Plodding dialogue, contrived plots, unbelievable subplots. It's all over the map.
And it's interesting that so much of the fabric of this show seems to be firing the people whom you don't agree with.
Also, I find it highly unbelievable that a woman would so strongly be advocating torture.
Were it not for the Emmy process, I would stop watching this show after this episode.
Grey's Anatomy, "Bring the Pain" Man, I love this show.
I love the way that you care about every single character. I love the way the romance of 21 years ago between Meredith's mom and the chief of staff resonates with elements of all the other romances. And you feel the weight of choices made, and paths not taken.
And in the midst of all that, T.R. Knight is just the cutest, hottest guy on television.
Every year, you look to shows to be of a piece, well-written, well-produced, well-acted. I never expected Grey's Anatomy to be this good, though.
I'm pretty sure that ER had the "must operate in an elevator with the power out" episode, but I'm also sure it wasn't like this. I just lovde this show.

24, Day 5, 1 am to 2 am The powerhouse season of 24 rolls on. The plot thickens. Great scenes with Itzin and Smart. Touching scene with Sutherland and Raver. Great tense scene with Sutherland and Weller. It's astonishing to me how every single episode of this season has been a knockout.
McGinley and Chalke could have easily won with this Season. McGinley With My Screwup and My Friend The Doctor or My Tormented Mentor, Chalke with My American Girl and My Porcelian God.

it's amazing how different these finales were in terms of quality...one was incredible the other pure crap....
SFU: I just can't believe how great this was. I didn't feel anything huge finale-like simply because I didn't know it was the final episode I thought it was next week. The whole episode was pretty great, even if closing shows is always unconfortable because nobody seems to know how to do it right or how to build on it, they always want to do it on a single hour, this one was nice. They did it pretty good and weren't too big on THE SHOW IS ENDING THE SHOW IS ENDING type of writing.
The final scenes were just amazing and some of the best (if not the best) I've seen on a final episode of a show. Everybody dying really blew me away, I think this is the best way to end a show like this because of its theme.
I didn't cry (I always cry when favorites end, even in the incredibly crappy Will & Grace finale) because as I said, I didn't know. I loved it and would LOVE IT as a submission....Everybody was great specially Conroy and Griffiths and Ambrose. Now, a snub for them would totally kill me.
It was nice to see W&G ending this past tuesday and now Six Feet Under, it just made me even more sad that W&G didn't go out incredibly funny like their other episodes...
SIX FEET UNDER FINAL SHOW: A+
W&G: first the good....The whole introduction of Beverly Leslie was the best thing of the show. "something fruity with lady fingers"....I'm glad they put him on the finale and brought him to the scene like they always did....it was one of the funniest. A lot of the Karen & Jack moments were also funny....
The rest. Pure crap. AGAIN! with the Will & Grace fighting.....LEO! AGAIN! it had to happen but common....Their kids are in the same position they were only that the boy is straight and now they get married like Grace wanted with Will....I could've written that in season 1.
It was the most cliched thing they could've done. It was STUPID! Nobody needed that and I can't believe EVERYBODY! thought it was a good idea. And I hated the audiences reaction "oh!!" when the kids met....What was that all about??? Nobody expected it....or did they want us to be surprised because other people were too???
The whole back and forth with the years was confusing and I don't know. I felt that they wanted to get it over with pretty quickly.
It was crap and to think they were doing o.k and improving on the last few seasons. To me, as far as I can remember, this was the worst finale for any of my favorite shows.
WILL & GRACE FINAL SHOW: C-

24, Day 5, 2 am to 3 am This season truly fulfills the promise of what 24 could be. So many astute little touches.
The essential back and forth between Jack being mean to get things done, and Jack showing his caring side by taking care of a passenger. That's really the element that they added this season, and perfected to an art. When 24 is all about things blowing up and getting violent, it gets very one-note. When we CARE about a person, it becomes a mix of things.
Like the final shots of this episode. Martha, now drugged out, calls Charles in a boozy haze, to get an explanation. We see his love for her, though he's impatient. He drops the call to her to get a call from his higher-ups (god BLESS 24 for doing this!), who tell him he must "shoot down the plane" (that Jack is on).
Just briliant, the way they do this. A shadow government stands up to fight the corrupt government. People who do the right thing against people only interested in furthering their own interests. Fascinating.
When I watch this show, it so deserves to win Best Drama Series. Course, when I watch Six Feet Under, I get the same feeling. Should be interesting. BTW, there is no doubt in my mind that Six Feet Under and 24 are the two final series in the list. No other possibilities.
I just watched "Haunted Leg" from season 3 of Gilmore Girls. My word, Lauren Graham was AMAZING in this episode in which Kirk asked her out on a date, her mother interfered in her relationship with Christopher and of course, the scene when Christopher showed up unannounced at Friday night dinner. What a powerful performance by Lauren who owned the scene. Seriously, it's a crime that she has failed to garner a single Emmy nomination and while I understand she's in the comedy category and there's a lot of drama in the show, quite a few comedy winning performances the last several years have been more drama than comedy(Huffman and Messing come to mind). Graham has deserved a nomination every year.
Okay, Lindsay, are you forgetting that I was a professional twice over— an analyst and a therapist. The world’s first analrapist.
I'm re-watching every single episode of "Six Feet Under" in honor of the fact that there will never be another new one. :cries: Anyway...
Pilot The beginning of the most brilliant TV show in television history!! What can I say? This was a great episode. Possibly the best "Six Feet Under" episode ever, besides "Everyone's Waiting".
Conroy was magnificent! Did she submit this? She's instantly likeable when she's talking to Nathaniel on the phone, heartwrenching when she's hear of his death, and FANTASTIC at the funeral! I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't submit it, though, because everyone else, including Griffiths (her competition that year), was also great.
Ambrose is pitch perfect, Hall is one of the most underrated actors working today, Krause does what 99% of male actors would like to do, but can't, Griffiths still stuns me with her layered performance as Brenda, even Rodriguez (great comedic timing!) and Patrick (the most likable person on the show, IMO) are wonderful. Also good is Richard Jenkins as Nathaniel.
I also watched The Will and The Foot, but I'm too lazy to write good reviews. All I can say is: how ON EARTH did this lose? I don't care if it was the almighty "The West Wing" or not, that was the year of "Six Feet Under". What did they get again? 24 Nominations?!
Drama should have gone to them, Lead Actor should've easily went to Hall or Krause, Lead Actress should have gone to Conroy, too bad Griffiths screwed up on submission, I wouldn't have died if Rodriguez won Supporitng Actor, and Supporting Actress belonged to Lauren Ambrose and/or Rachel Griffiths.

A lot of people say that the SFU actors always mess up on their submissions. I agree to a point. Griffiths (or whoever chose her submission) was absolutely out of it when chosing "The Secret" that year. As a standalone episode her character is completely out there and you feel no sympathy for her at all. In reality, when watching the other episodes that season - you understand why she does the things she does in "The Secret". She was in a lose-lose situation with that episode as a "standalone".
Conroy submissions in 2002 and 2003 were excellent (although I would have chosen 'A Private Life' instead of the pilot in their first year at the Emmys), but I can only think that she came in second with her submission of the pilot. The only aspect I can think of to her losing the Emmy is that, even though her husband has died, she is just completely over the top (Ruth not Conroy as an actress) with her emotion and that possibly put some voters off. Maybe they expected her to just go and cry in her room, but that would deface the entire Ruth character entirely.
Michael C. Hall submitted perfectly and the way Kim Cattral said "Michael...Chiklis", I am guessing, had both Hall and Chiklis on pins and needles.
Peter Krause submitted a good episode (there were some good bits of drama, but his 'main scene' - the moments before, during, and after the dinner - in the episode are pure comedy), but his submission for 2003 was PERFECT. If only "Whitecaps" wasn't in the running that year.
As a far as Ambrose goes, I haven't watched "The Trip" in a few months - but I don't remember her storyline at all in that episode. Nor do I remember what she did in "The Plan". I'll have to watch those two over to see what goes on with her character (guessing something to do with Gabe). If I had to pick from what I remember - I would have gone with "Back to the Garden" and "Crossroads". I do remember that the two episodes (Trip/Plan) she submitted are heavily centered on other characters in the show and if they both deal with the Gabe character could have been redundant for her character and her chances at the Emmy that year.
In 2003, she submitted a really good episode and really bad one based on her character of Claire. "Twilight" was excellent, while "Nobody Sleeps" and her Olivier moments weren't that good. I think she should have gone with either "Everyone Leaves" (I love her scene where Russell tells her his secret) or "Death Works Overtime" (where she argues with Olivier) along with "Twilight". Although, I don't think anyone was going to be Tyne Daly that year.
And I will go to my "Emmy death bed", knowing that SFU deserved the Drama Series award in 2003. The third season was the show's best and, IMO, the best show on television that year. Stop and correct me if I am wrong, but if I remember correctly, even EW (who isn't the greatest fan of the show) said in their Emmy predictions that SFU deserved it that year).

As a matter of fact, she did submit this.
I, too, am in the Third Season of Gilmore Girls. "A Deep-Fried Korean Thanksgiving". Someone please tell me WHEN this thing between Luke and Lorelei is going to become real. She's still in this "I don't even notice him" thing that is getting to the point of being nonsensical.
"Oh, is Luke hurt if we skip his Thanksgiving?" Come on, already! Sheesh.
Other than that, I love this show. Even Kirk's craizness with his new cat. All of it. Great, great stuff here.

Cat Kirk and Human Kirk had me rolling. Loved that episode and loved that season. You have a while before Luke-Lorelai become real. You still have to suffer through the whole Digger thing. Ugh, just thinking about that season makes me want to puke. Digger was just awful.
