Sitting down? 'Cause you'll want to be when you hear what I have to say.

A major character on a show we are obsessed with will commit suicide before the season is over -- and no one will see it coming. The shocking death will send shockwaves through the show and the fallout will be immense.

Spoilerphobes may want to hit the nearest exit, because I'm about to give you a hint...

I learned of this death after I compiled my 2009 season-ending death chart, so it is not reflected on there. And it may never be. It's a DEFCON 1 spoiler, so I'm proceeding with the utmost caution. I may, at some point between now and when the episode airs, stealthily update the chart with this catastrophic development. Or I may not. Just to be safe, you may want to refresh the page at least once a day.
In the meantime, let's get those guesses flowing in the comments section. Just to recap what we know:

• Major show
• Not featured in death chart
Let the speculation begin…

Oh, and to my many sources/friends/family/EW bosses, don't waste your time grilling me for extra clues. This blind item's staying blind. For now at least.

It's Izzie from "Grey's Anatomy". George will help her with this "suicide". She dies and he will go to jail for helping her with euthansia. In this way, both will be out from the show for good.

I have a feeling it could be Olivia Benson from SVU. She hasn't been the same since she went undercover at that prison.

He's talking about a show that we're obsessed with. No one is obsessed with "SVU". And Mariska Hargitay loves to work on her show, not like Heigl herself. It's Izzie. Period.

everything considered would Izzie or George's death really be a shocker?

Anyone actually dying and staying dead would be a surprise for Heroes but no one is obsessed with that show anymore.

I'd say unless it is Jack no death on 24 or Lost would be shocking.

Really the clues here are ridiculously vauge as to what constitutes a major character and especially a major show are up for question and since the death chart never named any names that clue dosn't really help at all.

So it's all about "House"? Meh... I'm not interested in this show.

i'm thinking it's somebody from either Bones or Criminal Minds. My first thought was Agent Prentiss (Paget Brewster) who may feel kind of bad after last week's episode. Also this show likes to change up it's cast once and awhile.

With Bones my guess would be Angela (maybe she realizes she's all alone) or Cam.
