I love Marcia Cross, but I agree with jw79bull. I think Christina Applegate is the favorite to win the Emmy.

"Damages" - Best Drama Series

By now, I think the odds of Marcia getting nommed is 25%.

Unfortunately, ATAS has really forgotten that there's a show called Desperate Housewives.

I'm expecting for Mary Louise Parker to win now.

FYC EMMY VOTERS!!!

Please consider the following performances:

James Roday (Psych)
Julia Louis Dreyfus (New Adventures of Old Christine)
Marcia Cross (Desperate Housewives)
John Krasinski (The Office)
Steve Carell (The Office)
Hugh Laurie (House)

With regards to Marcia Cross, She is way overdue for a major award win. At this point it is ridiculous that she has not won a Golden Globe, SAG or Emmy for her work on DH. It's even more ridiculous that SAG has still never rewarded her with an individual nomination.

Somehow I think that Mary Louise Parker has not had that great a season, so this may hurt her a bit.

I am not feeling Christina Applegate at all. She's cute in the role on "Samantha Who", but I don't think she's deserving of an Emmy win. There are others who I think would be more worthy of a win next year.

if she submits well anything can happen. I've read buzz about her in magazines all season so she should at least be in the top 7. With a strong tape i think she can get a nom.

As for MLP, if she submits the right tape she's in. If she doesn't, she's out. Her show had a weak season and she isn't the best submitter. I'm expecting that spot to be freeed up.

But, could Brooke Shields or Lucy Liu steal a spots in the category if their shows become
hits?

I am not much of a magazine reader so that is interesting to know.

Not at all. Felicity Huffman is most deserving of a win from the Emmys now. Flicka has been impressive as hell, heaven and earth this season on DH. She is a true shining star and needs more award wins stat. Flicka is the true star of DH.

I don't agree with Felicity Huffman being the true star of DH this season....I think she has had lesser moments than Hatcher or Cross but I will give you that Huffman did well in the tornado episode and when she found out she beat her cancer.

As for Marcia Cross, I have given up. I will still support her yes but I am no longer going to keep getting my hopes up so basically this is me finally accepting the fact that Marcia's time has pretty much come and gone....same as the show itself, despite both being on Cloud 9 as of now IMO.

Does Marcia deserve a Globe, SAG, and Emmy? Yes, multiple ones each.

Does the show deserve to win an Emmy? Yes it does.

But I don't see it happening and I am accepting it. Would I love to be wrong? Yes....lol!!

At least I can support a good candidate in Christina Applegate....and Tina Fey has been growing on me as well.

Yes that is true but that doesn't matter too much considering many great actors/actress have been left off the ballot despite great tapes (Marcia in S2 and her slew of winning tapes; Elizabeth Mitchell on Lost having both "One of Us" and "Not in Portland", etc...."

the 2006 and 2007 emmy awards prove that tapes do help a certain amount. Mitchell's problem was that she didn't make the top ten. Cross is more than popular enough to do that. And Cross didn't get a nomination in 2006 because "Next" was a weak submission and it wasn't funny enough. The other 5 ladies had several funny moments whereas cross's only had one funny scene and a few small scenes that didn't leave an impact.

the emmys are usually more fair than the other awards. i'm pretty sure that last year the top 5 popular vote getters were the five nominated actresses in comedy, with hatcher and cross numbers 6 and 7. both hatcher and cross were fantastic this season, and both deserve the nomination over felicity huffman. i think ferrera, mlp, applegate, hatcher and cross would be the most deserving group, but fey is bumping one of the housewives most definitely, and in the end it's really between cross and huffman.

Hold up. You are saying that Teri Hatcher and Marcia Cross deserve a nomination before Felicity Huffman? NEVER in a million, trillion, gazillion years will that ever be the case.

Well if it is between Marcia and Felicity, then Huffman it is. Felicity has been the best actress on DH this season. She is also a multiple award winning, Oscar nominated actress. Go Flicka. Flicka has this nomination in the bag. This is tubular.

Whatever. Yes, I agree to vozas, Hatcher and Cross are much better than Huffman this season. Sure, Felicity has her moments but still this season is not hers.

Judging from some of the choices in the MVP thread many seem to think Felicity has done the best this season.

I'm catching up on this season's DH because of the glowing reviews for it. I haven't seen the tornado episode yet, but I think I've seen all the others now, and Teri Hatcher is kicking ass this season.
I don't know, watching it, everyone is still good, but I'm not "excited" by any others anymore. Cross and Huffman are still giving good performances, but it doesn't have that "spark" anymore. Somehow Hatcher has discovered that spark again and she is rocking it.

Emmy FYCs: (more to come)
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, The New Adventures Of Old Christine
Ellen Pompeo, Grey's Anatomy
Elizabeth Perkins, Weeds
Calista Flockhart, Brothers & Sisters
Best Drama Series: Damages
Best Comedy Series: The Office

Right now, I'm still hoping for Marcia Cross to get a nomination because there isn't much buzz needed to get a nom as compared to the Emmys and the Golden Globes.

She has the tapes to match it, and she's been nommed before but I'm not expecting anymore.

I don't think that Hatcher is kicking ass. She has been great this season, but she isn't far and away the best.

Because in your eyes, only Felicity is the one who can do all things. She's the only one great. She's the only one who can able to pull it off. She's the only one who deserves to get nommed. She's the only one who is consistent.

She's the only actress in the show. I guess Eva, Teri, and Marcia should move to Lead Actor because only Felicity is deserving of a nom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
