I'm literally shocked at how many nomiations Philippines received. Wow! I didn't think that the International Emmys would nominate them.

I am so so so happy for Angel Locsin as she deserved a Best Actress nomination for Lobo (The Wolf). I don't know anything about her odds of winning but the fact that she made the top four is already a very big achievement.

I'm also happy that we have 2 representatives in the Telenovela category. I'm pushing more for A Time for Us more than Magdusa Ka since I watch the former and ignore the latter.

Overall, I hope this will open more doors for international recognition for Philippine programming.

I hope The Office wins as Best Comedy Series for this year's Emmy Awards.

"Capadócia" instead of "Alice"? What are these people on?

"Alice" is the best HBO series produced in Brazil so far, that's quite shocking to me.

I'm intrigued is "The Wolf" actually about a wolf? or a girl transforming to a wolf?

That's pretty good to have two nominees in the same category, The Philippines must have a good shot at winning that category, congrats isk and caresa!

Well, it seems they were quite taken with Capadocia since they also nominated it for lead actress.

Maybe "Alice" just didn't appeal to their tastes. What are the two shows about anyway?

"Capadocia" is about the life of a prisioner in a women's prison, that's also the mother of two and shows how little difference there is between people behind the bars and us.

And "Alice" is about a young woman who is about to get married that comes to São Paulo (even though she's never been there before) because her stranged father dies, and ends up deciding to stick around and enjoy São Paulo and learn more about life and have more fun.

She's a girl who can transform to a white wolf. She's believed to be the last hope of her fellow white wolves since there are groups who are against the wolves.

I hope The Office wins as Best Comedy Series for this year's Emmy Awards.

Plus the gay/lesbian/corruption/violence and many others situations.

I've seen most of the UK entries and they are actually very good and deserve to be there.
I think there is a very good chance for Ben Whishaw & Julie Walters to win, Walters was really good in A Short Stay in Switzerland where she plays a woman who chooses to go to Switzerland to die as she has an incurable disease.
The children's program Dustbin Baby is also very impressive and better than most adult drama in the UK.
I didn't think the Peter Kay program was that good in Comedy and if any of the other nominees are good they should really win.
The Ascent of Money was a very interesting well made (and timely) documentary series, but if there is a more personal or emotional nominee then that could beat it.
I've never really liked Spooks much and didn't see this series but I'm sure there are better drama series around the world.
The Shooting of Thomas Hurndall was a very good TVM and I would think it should win unless something else was really exceptional.

India was nominated instead of A Favorita, the best Brazilian soap-opera ever. This is a joke.

Was Epitafios nominated for its first season? Season 2 was really good, a bit iffy around the middle episodes, but the season finale was awesome! They really captured the anti-hero trend from American TV (i.e. Tony Soprano, Gregory House, Vic Mackey, etc.).

I was shocked that Magdusa Ka was nominated. Out of all the shows from the Philippines to get a nomination. Baffling really.

But A Time For Us (Philippine Title: Kahit Isang Saglit) was an excellent series. Beautifully filmed, strong, heartfelt performances, thrilling action, and a wonderful love story. A great representative for the Philippines. "India - A Love Story" seems to be big competition, breaking ratings records and such. No idea about the French nominee.

And Angel Locsin, as much as I love her and thought her role in "The Wolf" (Philippine Title: Lobo) was a real breakthrough performance for her career, she's up against tough competition. But a real achievement for her and well deserved.

Magdusa Ka, truth be told, is not a deserving nominee. Of all the Philippine shows, I'd rather have other else fill that spot.

And as for Angel Locsin, I know she's not the frontrunner per se, but I think even she knows it. It's just so flattering because she's the second Filipina actress to receive an individual nomination.

Interesting roles for the women nominated in Best Actress.

I hope The Office wins as Best Comedy Series for this year's Emmy Awards.
