Wow on the no Ellen Pompeo that is a true sign that Grey's is really down hill. I know she was never a real nominee grabber but she was always on the list. Grey's is not going to do that well.
This is the year of non HBO basic cable, and am very happy Mary McDonnell finally made this list.
Oh and Mad Men and Damages are the shows come Emmy nomination day they are going to clean up.
This is going to be a tough category to figure out.
Please give us at least one more list tonight.

Yeah, please give us one more list. I am dying to see who made it into the top ten for two categories, Supp. Actress in Comedy and Supp. Actress in tv movie/mini. Do they divulge these two categories????
So, we are not entirely sure if this is the real list? It would be nice if Mary McDonnell was actually on it. I would love to have confirmation though.
Again, I am wondering if Grey's didn't score as high in the popular vote for Drama Series as I thought it was going to.
This list can't really contain too many surprises though. We all knew Arquette, Close, Driver, Field, Hargitay, Hunter and Sedgwick were going to be there. I sincerely hope that McDonnell really is one of the top 10 members.

After all the disappointment, seeing Mary McDonnell's name pretty much erases it all. This is the best news outside of The Wire making drama series top 10. I am absolutely thrilled.
Elisabeth Moss, wow. They really love Mad Men.
I'm also really happy for Jeanne Tripplehorn.
The rest of the list is the usual suspects, no surprise in those 7. I think everyone has pegged the nominees to be from that group.
Okay, Lindsay, are you forgetting that I was a professional twice over— an analyst and a therapist. The world’s first analrapist.

smartarse! The L.A. Times now wants me to unveil these in the mornings after they mull over everything endlessly at their editorial meeting, blah, blah, blah ... meantime, just watch us get scooped! Nooooo!!!
I've got the list for comedy supporting actor, too, plus some guest categories ... Don't know yet when I'll unveil them ...

We can wait. Thanks again, Tom. The Academy just doesn't know who they are dealing with!

Oh dear, it would be terrible to get scooped. Perish the thought!
Comedy Supporting actor could be fun. I thought Comedy lead actress would be boring, but it turned out to be more fun than I anticipated. Could Comedy lead *actor* be that fun?
If this is really the list, I'm disappointed. To snub Ellen Pompeo and Calista Flockhart is a shame. Especially when undeserving Holly Hunter is in and Mariska Hargitay who had a very mediocre season.
If it's based on a popular vote I can't fathom McDonnell or Moss getting in.

Moss is on the most buzzed about show of the year. McDonnell, who knows. Maybe the voters paid attention this year to her, they watched the show and decided yes, she is top 10 material(cause she is)? Maybe they read this board and didn't want to face the wrath of Paul Han? Maybe they realize she's an accomplished Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actress? Whatever the case, she absolutely belongs and I just hope this list is the real deal.

Yay for Jeanne Tripplehorn! I <3 her on Big Love and I'm glad she made the top ten, even though I expected it.
The only two surprises here are Moss and McDonnell. I can't believe the kind of support Mad Men is getting... I like it! Likewise, I'm very surprised that Calista Flockhart didn't even make the final ten!!!
Here are my predictions:
1.Glenn Close 2.Kyra Sedgwick 3.Sally Field 4.Minnie Driver 5.Mariska Hargitay
That fifth spot, in my opinion, is really a crap shoot, though. I could see Arquette getting in, or Holly Hunter. Or I'd love to see Moss or Tripplehorn nominated. Plus, I've heard nothing but great things about Mary McDonnell. So I don't know.
Thank you so much for all of these lists, Tom. They are truly appreciated! =)

I like this list. Of the 7 we knew would get in I've seen Close, Driver, Field, Hunter and Sedgwick, and they all deserve it. As for the last 3 spots I am really happy for Tripplehorn og McDonnell. Chloe Sevigny is sadly missing from the list, but I have no problem with Elizabeth Moss being there.
2008 Emmys FYC: Drama Series: Big Love Lead Actor in a Drama Series: Michael C. Hall (Dexter) Supporting Actor in a Drama Series: Michael Emerson (Lost) Supporting Actress in a Drama Series: Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights) Supporting Actress in a Drama Series: Mia Wasikowska (In Treatment) Comedy Series: Flight of the Conchords Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series: Jeremy Piven (Entourage)
It would be really great if someone like Moss or McDonnell could actually get nominated. What do we think the likelihood of that is? With Close, Sedgwick, Field, Driver, Hargitay, Arquette and Hunter in the field, I wonder if anyone else has a chance. Maybe the buzz of Mad Men gave Moss a spot higher up on the popularity list than I am assuming?
