Enjoyable. I was impressed tonight, the cast really gelled, and nothing felt forced.
OMG I remember where I know the cheater's wife (Maria) from. That ridiculously STUPID "Madea Goes to Jail" movie, by that talentless hack Tyler Perry. And once again she gets the shaft to a lesser woman lol. And now look the cheater is dead.

SPOILER ALERTS: DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SPOIL THE EPISODE:
Not a bad episode, but all too predictable. I will admit the only thing that shocked me was seeing Carlos's boss get killed. i didn't expect that at all... I do like the way the Tom and Lynette story was resolved, that was sweet. I love the Susan/Katherine stuff, even if it was treading on familar waters. I wasn't a big fan of the fact that we didn't see the camping trip that was talked about in the previous episode (i guess it's coming up later in the season?). The Orson story was a bit odd, but i suppose it's building up to something.
Overall Grade: B+

I liked the scenes with Gabrielle having to cover for Carlos's boss, and then her scene at the salon with Shayla ("This is why you don't get your hair done at a mall!"). But the ending, sigh. At least the ABC promos weren't as far-reachingly manipulative as with "Brothers & Sisters" last week, but the "housewife that kills" wasn't one of the main ones, but a disposable character with no genuine audience connection. That's too bad. Katherine and Susan's thread with the house-warming party and the painting were cute. Tom and Lynette royally blowing the interview dinner with Bree's publisher was the best part of the episode, and I get a kick out of seeing Christopher Rich in almost any show. Orson's klepto storyline is so eye-rollingly bad, I'm pretending that it didn't happen. Edie getting down the bottom of Dave's past should be interesting, but it's bittersweet that this is probably the gateway to Nicollette Sheridan's exit on the show.
Grade for "Crime Doesn't Pay": B-

I thought this episode was hilarious. Everything worked.
Most of all, the fact that they grouped so many of the housewives together worked really well. Katherine and Susan are a great comedic duo and they play off of eachother really well. If emmy voters were smart they'd nominate Dana Delaney. And Hatcher has been pretty good during the second half of this season.
I liked the twist with Gaby's storyline. It will be interesting to see how she's wracked with guilt.
I liked that they made the orson stealing thing funny rather than the weird dramatic way it ended in the previous episode. I really liked the way Cross looked at Orson when he spoke in that terrible italian voice. And when Tom walked in on Orson and Bree, classic. However the end of their storyline made me feel as if i was watching an independent film.
The table scene was one of the funniest scenes this show has ever had. And the comedic and jaw dropping line delivered by Tom was great. I liked how they got more and more competitive and that it continually got amped up. They felt like a real married couple in that scene and in the last one. Giving Huffman more scenes w/Savant, and ones that are funny but still have some weight, work best for her (and so much better than the dramatic stuff). That scene was well written.
I like that the progress with the dave storyline is being done through Edie.
Episode Grade: A- MVP: Delaney/Huffman/Savant

I loved that the writers constantly refer to the charcter's past from previous seasons: - Gabby cheated on Carlos when he worked with Bradley the first time around; - Edie once dated Carlos; - Edie dating housewives' exes leaded to the foursome ganging up on her right in her front lawn; - All about Lynette and Tom' work experiences; - Orson going to jail comparing to what Tom is going trough and much more besides.
I finally caught up with this one and thought the overall episode was a little uneven but for the most part it was great. While it was mostly a filler episode, it advanced some plotlines, and really brought back some great and important plots from the past. Here are my thoughts on the story lines from worst to best.
5.) Bree/Orson: Orson's criminal past was nicely brought up again, but the whole kleptomania plot fell flat and for the first time tonight I missed the old Bree who would have kicked his ass. 4.) Susan/Katherine/Mike: Susan's incredibly irritating pettiness hopefully finally came to an end with the final resolution, but I was reaching my breaking point here. Get a life Susan! And this whole plot progression feels oddly forced considering how Jackson had to be abruptly written out (due to Gale Harold's accident) and Mike and Katherine are waiting to get attacked by Dave. 3.) Edie/Dave: Knowing my days with Edie Britt are numbered, I probably enjoyed her plotline more than I should have because it really didn't go anywhere and the fact that she hasn't yet looked into his past is ridiculous. Also, how many damn opportunities has Dave had to kill Mike/Katherine/Susan/MJ or whoever he is after? Also, why no mention of the dead psychiatrist and the camping trip after being heavily discussed on the previous episodes? They can't drag this out for the remaining seven episodes. 2.) Lynette/Tom: If it wasn't mingled with the Bree/Orson crap, this would have been the best plotline of the night. Lynette and Tom's vicious competitiveness was absolutely hilarious and remarkably cruel, which made their makeup all the sweeter and more refreshing given how these two usually hold grudges. I, for one, can't wait to see Lynette back to work. 1.) Gaby/Carlos: Eva Longoria Parker sold this seemingly directionless plotline with perfect one liner deliveries and great physical comedy. As mentioned it drudged up some interesting past issues (the reclaiming of her old glamorous life and her old adulterous past) and the ending twist was a real stunner that in my opinion justifies what has een a less than thrilling plotline.
MVP: Longoria Parker (by a mile)

I haven't been into this show for a few months now, but despite some good qualities that the past episodes have had, the show is slipping.
I actually wanted to express how dumbfounded I am by the Orson storyline. I have been a Kyle MacLachlan fan for years and I am always love seeing him in shows, etc....and have been saying how much I wanted him to be on the show more for the past two seasons, but if they are going to give him storylines like this then I think they should let him go.
Seriously, I think this "Orson as a Klepto" is one of the cheesiest and, perhaps, worst storylines this show has had, maybe even on the level of the Zach and Gabby fiasco of Season 3. The character and MacLachlan deserve better writing than this!!
