Word on who's in the acting Top 10s is starting to leak out. I'm hearing mostly the usual suspects, but there's one (nice) shockeroo: Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad")
See, this is why the leaking is more fun than them actually announcing them. We find out bits of information at a time. That's great news about Bryan Cranston. He's pretty brilliant on that show.

FYC: Mad Men and Damages, the two best shows to come along in a while
Are most people really calling him a "shock"? Maybe I'm a little naive, but I had always thought he had a decent chance of getting in the Top 10: he's a well respected actor with 3 prior nods, now on a show with a performance that got rave reviews.
No matter, I'm thrilled he's on the list. In a perfect world, he would not only be nominated, but would win!

I am not shocked at all the show was a critical darling and his performance is especially supposed to be mind blowing.
I am also not shocked because he is an Emmy favorite who was nominated multiple times for Malcolm in the Middle even when the show was in its not so good years.

I'm shocked because it's a excellent performance on an excellent show, and the voters actually acknowledged that.
I know the academy gets a lot of flack for some of their decisions, but they're the only body of the major awards shows that seem to think outside of the box. The Golden Globes and SAG awards just seem to follow suit.

Good. I dont remember if I have him in my top 10 but I had him in my early predictions in the top 10.
I'm predicting that he'd be the Eddie Izzard of this year and the top 10 will be his last show at the lists.

Kristin Chenoweth (Pushing Daisies) Julia Louis Dreyfus (New Adventures of Old Christine) Steve Carell (The Office) Hugh Laurie (House) Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer) Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother)

That's wonderful that Bryan Cranston was remembered and noticed for his role on "Breaking Bad". Content wise, his placement shouldn't be a surprise at all.

Glad to hear about BC. I predicted him to make the top 10 and with his respect among his peers I find it not suprising that he made it since he is playing such a proacative part.
I have not seen the show; is he good in "Breaking Bad?"

I've only seen a couple of episodes (the show didn't interest me much) and he's right up there with the favorites for a nomination. I wouldn't even mind him winning the Emmy, but that's not gonna happen 'cause, you know, James Spader collects them.
