His road to victory last year helped sour me on this increasingly vile show, so I do feel some schadenfreude over hearing this:
Adam Jasinski, 'Big Brother 9' winner, charged with dealing drugs By Staten Island Advance Entertainment Desk October 20, 2009, 10:39AM CBSAdam Jasinski, the winner of CBS's "Big Brother 9," has been charged with dealing drugs.STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Adam Jasinski, the winner of CBS's "Big Brother 9," has been charged with dealing drugs.
The reality TV star was charged in U.S. District Court in Boston with possession of oxycodone pills with intent to distribute. He was ordered held in custody until another hearing Thursday, according to myfoxboston.com.
Jasinski reportedly had nearly 2,000 oxycodone pills on him when he flew on Saturday from his home in Delray Beach, Fla., to Logan Airport, where he was picked up by a Massachusetts man arrested for allegedly dealing drugs earlier this month. The two then drove to a strip mall parking lot in North Reading, Mass., to allegedly complete the deal, but he was arrested by DEA agents.
Jasinski allegedly confessed that he had been selling oxycodone pills on the East Cost over the past several months, using the $500,000 he won on “Big Brother" to fund the business.
If convicted, Jasinski faces up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
After Richard Hatch, it might be smart for all big money reality show winners that these days, with computers and such, the Feds might do an occassional double check on them to see that everything is OK.
Sure, he was a minor celebrity, but going into something where success requires being a bit discreet and under the radar likely was not the best career move for him.
This was a really dumb move. If he'd only won 50,000-100,000 dollars then maybe he should have spent money to fund a drug business. But with half a million dollars there are a ton of legitimate and profitable things he could have done legally with a little bit of creativity.
What a d*ck. I couldnt stand this guy. He was one of the(many) reasons why I stopped watching BB regularly the same season I started watching Big Brother regularly. LOL
