Do you have some sort of personal vendetta against Bree/Marcia? Because your posts just reek of misogyny.

Well another great episode and a nice way to kick off this November sweeps month for DH.

After the first episode I had written on these forums that they should go dark with Katherine - make her evil. Well I am happy that they are doing this nutty breakdown of hers and not making her go totally dark. It's been a riot the last couple episodes to see Dana Delany be this crazy!!! However after Angie casually put it into Susan's mind that Katherine may have been involved in Julie's attack - I was on cloud nine. I know they are not going to make her be responsible for Julie's attack in the end but it would add a lot more drama if it actually turned out to be Katherine. Glad for this part of the storyline and hope it really develops into something great!!!

Gaby - when they first made Eva a mother on this show I really did not think it would work out and I believe they kinda realize that in Season 5 - hence the reason why Gaby suddenly became thin and attractive again and Carlos got back his eyesight. Anyway having seen the last couple episodes this season with Gaby and Juanita - I have to say Gaby as a mother is the best thing they have ever done on this show. And Eva Longoria is freaking fantastic in this role!!! Heck Gaby as a mother has been way funnier than anything Lynnette has had to endure from her kids over the past five seasons.

The only problem I am having is Lynnette's lying of her pregnancy to Gaby. I find it a bit insulting that they would expect viewers to believe that after all these years Lynette would actually believe she have to keep this secret from someone who she calls a friend. While I understand Lynette does not want to lose her job or promotion, it is still ridiculous for viewers to believe that she cannot go to her friend Gaby and explain her situation so that Gaby can fix things with Carlos.

Nope. Marcia's an actress that's inferior to Hatcher and plays Bree the skank. DH has had many sadistic characters (ex. Katherine's ex tortured her doctor hubby, Lynette made her elementary children dig in their garden like they were rodents, etc) so the show should have Orson torture whoreBree and Karl the skank as well.

Maybe orson can remove all of Bree's teeth like he did to that woman that Mike thought he had killed. That would help bree do one thing karl must like.

LOL!

They have always given Marcia material, yet sadly Marcia cannot deliver. She was always overshadowed by whoever plays against her, be it Rex or SUSAN or Orson, heck even Katherine outdid her when they were rivals when Katherine joined the show, and now Karl and even a one ep character like the cleaning lady can mop the floor with Marcia. And now tha she's playing Bree as a skank, Marcia still has the material but can't deliver. That's why Hatcher and Huffman have the awards, while ELP is the popular one outside of the DH fanbase.

I just have to say, I am loving me some Eva Longoria Parker this season--she's even cranked it up a notch from last year, when she was superb.

This was a hugely entertaining episode, Tom's silly frat-boy hijinks aside.

Hemingway once told a friend he was considering giving up writing. "But Ernest," the friend protested. "You love writing!" "No," corrected Hemingway. "I love having written."

Exclusive: "Housewives" pulls a FlashForward
by Michael Ausiello

"Desperate Housewives" is going back to the future, but this time it’s just temporary.

And imaginary.

An early January episode — the first following the Dec. 6 plane crash cliffhanger — will find the housewives pondering numerous “What If” scenarios.

Example: What if the plummeting jetliner had killed Susan instead of [sorry, too spoilery].

Two Wisterians featured prominently in the alternate reality sequences will be Gaby and Carlos’ youngest daughter, Celia, and Mike and Susan’s son, MJ. I know this because "DH" is currently casting thirtysomething versions of both characters.

Memo to Marc Cherry. Drop the plane on Julie. Trust me, everyone’s futures would be much brighter (mine included!)

The plane should land on Bree, that way there'd be 1 less redheaded, expressionless skank in Connecticut.

Will they cast a model thin actress as the 30something Celia, or a more rubenesque actress?

The should make MJ gay in his 30s.

She is a great choice, but I would rather see Ferrera as Celia.

Is the flashforward supposed to be only housewives' imagination or also a weird sense of foreboding?

Making MJ gay won't shock anyone, especially Susan who is desperate to be loved by gay people. From the spoilers, one child from one family will grow up being gay.

Looks like it's gonna be one hell of a comedic episode. I hope it works.

Episode Title: "Careful the Things You Say"

Synopsis: Susan thinks that Katherine might be Julie's assailant; Lynette has her own suspicions as to who did it; Angie invites a reluctant Bree and Orson to dinner, and she also confronts husband Nick about a secret he's keeping from her.

Discuss.

Is Susan desperate to be loved by gay people? She's just desperate to get any validation, not necessarily from the gays.

There was that lesbian art teacher that kissed her. Speaking of which, did Susan actually hook up with the bratty, annoying gay neighbor married to Tuc Watkins's char? I skipped eps from season 5 and there was a scene where Gabi was laughing about one of the gays getting so drunk that he'd kiss anyone with facial hair? Then Susan got mad at her.

So what happened? Did the trashy gay couple get into a fight, and then he got drunk and made out with Susan, who he hates? How was this resolved?

It's true that Susan wants everyone to like her. Regarding gay people, she clearly doesn't aim to be the next gay idol, but I'm sure she wants to show the world that she's totally cool with gay people. And if her son ends up being gay, it won't drive her crazy, at least not being close to what it did to Bree when she first found out Andrew was gay.

To me, making MJ gay isn't going to make an intereting storyline. Instead, if you make sweet little MJ grow up to be a womanizer, or a cold-blooded killer, all of which Susan so disapproves of, that'll be more of material for her.

It was another entertaining episode, even with some predictable outcomes. It was a great showcase for Angie. We didn’t really get to see who she is like apart from doing everything to protect her family and secrets like we had done towards Katherine from the get-go of her arrival in season 4. This episode made her character more interesting, not just a mystery character and that’s it. I can see her having more interaction with other characters in the future.

Bree’s storyline was partly similar to the lemon meringue pie episode. It was good to see Bree stepping out of her affair for a change and back to the basics; however, it was kinda hard to warm up to who Bree has become lately. I felt she had no dignity left but still got the nerve to pretend how dignified she was and to judge others. As a great storyline as she had, it was Angie who really shone. I hope they will do a plot revolving around Katherine when she found out she was replaced by Angie.

Gabby continued to have a fantastic storyline and so was her acting. Ana was nowhere to be found and nobody cared since Juanita was far more enjoyable. Susan’s storyline didn’t have much to offer but not bad after all. At least she and Kathy Najimy worked well together. The person who I felt bad for is Lynette. She had a filler storyline for the past two episodes and this episode was like she had no storyline at all. I think the writers may run out of hiding pregnancy stuff and just wait for the right time to reach its climax. It was so typical of her to take the matter into her own hands even if it was not her place and someone could get hurt from it.

The fact that Angie had known about the affair for a long time solidifies the notion of her being the attacker. But she had a lot to deal with her murky past already, why ran a risk of exposing it by committing a(nother) crime? Plus she seemed to let it go as what her family had been through was so big the affair couldn’t tear her family apart. Maybe the strangulation was random, or probably the person liable for it could be someone attached to the mystery and we didn’t get to know yet.

I s taking everything back of what I said about Drea, b/c after this episode she has won me over as Angie and of course she is looking pretty to be the one that strangle Julie (thanks Marc!).

Eva shines in this role and I hope she gets her Emmy nom either for this or something else b/c it is sad, but now looking back on her journey from here to now I am happy that she wasn't nominated in 05, b/c she has since proven herself to be worthy of a nomination in that category.

Something that was funny and I am surprised I still have an eye for catching these things, is there was a continuity goof at the dinner scene w/the Bolens and Hodge. One scene Bree took off her napkin and then when they were arguing you can see the napkin back on Bree and she takes it off again. Love these stuff lol.

I think someone else is the strangler. There are so many episodes left for the season I wonder if they'd string it out a bit more and have a little twist on it.

This episode was a little dull - okay a lot, but with 24 episodes a season, they can't all be gems.

I think they all shine in their roles. Well the main ladies: Teri, Marcia, Felicity and Eva. Emmy is a lost cause for the show so I don't even worry with that anymore. Doesn't make sense to set myself up for disappointment.

Exactly, Bree is such a hypocritical skank! The nerve of that redheaded witch. And as usual, Marcia's screen partner outshines her yet again.

Does anyone think that Lynette's twins will be put in danger now that she reported Mr. Bolen to the police? Maybe she'll get attacked and lose the twins?

Angie's corny. Susan's storyline was kinda dull, as was the whole ep, and this is sweeps! The actress that plays Juanita really shone when she thought her doll would be chopped into thirds, and her voice was all shaky. Maybe she could give acting lessons to Marcia.

Cross always gives a perfectly restrained performance that never feels like she's whoring herself for Emmy moments. They had Felicity crying over a dead pussom in that Helloween episode a few years back, yet it was Bree's quiet and subtle moment with Danielle after she gave birth to Ben that was most effective. Or compare that scenes where Danielle took back Ben to the one where Lilly was taken from Gabby. Eva really embarrassed herself in that one, and they've pretty much stopped giving her showy acting moments after that.

The best parts of the episode were with Angie and Bree with the Italian food. The dinner scene was great, as was Bree trying to convince that couple that she was Italian, and the end where Bree confided in Angie and hired her. Lynette's scenes with Julie were interesting. I thought it was contrived that Julie just happened to confide in Lynette off-camera about her possible pregnancy with Nick's baby, but now seeing their connection made that exchange a bit more grounded. Loved it when Angie socked Nick. That relationship is a bizarre one, and I like how the pieces are still in flux with the Bolen family at this point in the season. Kathy Najimy was pretty flat here. She's better playing the bubbly types then the vengeful ones. Her scenes with Teri Hatcher should have been more fun than what they were. It was all so whatever. Gabrielle's bouts with teaching Juanita were good, and I liked the scene where the maid was teaching Juanita at the other house after Carlos had her fired and Gabrielle was the one cleaning the floors. "You missed a spot." Carlos should have known better than to expect Gabrielle to be any kind of good schoolteacher to begin with.

Grade for "Careful the Things You Say": B/B-

For me, Eva Longoria Parker was the standout of this most recent episode. Gabby's crying scene with Carlos was IMHO a career best(so far)for Longoria Parker. Her acting is finally at the same level as Hatcher and Cross and I think that it makes for a better show. Runner-up is Drea DeMateo. I thought she'd be wasted on this show like so many other actresses -Alfre Woodard and Nicolette Sheridan most notably- but the writing and Drea's performance have elevated her to DH's best supporting housewife.

P.S. I noticed that the past two episodes were written by Peter Lefcourt who wrote a great gay baseball romance called "The Dreyfus Affair". I hope he stays around for awhile.
