My logic is this, it sounds like Glfan wasn't happy with the show last season and wasn't happy with the show's first season of the year. I think that is a long enough time for him to decide to drop the show. It bothers me that people are willing to drop the new shows after only 4 shows because the shows are still trying to find there groove. When a show is on for 6 Seasons, they should already have their groove.

^^^My bad. Okay I agree with you now, well somewhat. There are those die hard fans who keep thinking each season will improve, and I can't blame them for it (See Heores). However, I do see what you're saying.

Good episode..But i have two points to bring up:

1) Gabby and Carlos are both Mexican, so why is the Niece being played by an actress that looks Italian?

2) Lynette is 3months pregnant with Twins, isnt it too late for her to have an abortion?

3) How old is Drea, cause she looks like the older sister of the guy playing her son, instead of his mom.

1. She is Brazilian.
2. I dunno, maybe, but I don't think she is gonna have one.
3. Drea was born in 72, Beau Mirchoff was born in 1989, she would have been about 17 or 18.

Yeah, i think this show should be put out of its misery.

Here we go again with the same old tired plots. Lynette is distraught again because she has too many kids she can't handle. The character of Bree was once the moral compass of the show, now she is a bitchy, vengeful slut. Susan is still acting like a bafoon and Hatcher is nothing more than a slapstick actress. And now Gabby is back acting like the selfish wife now that she has money again.

To top that off, here we go again with another wacked out family who just moved into Wisteria Lane with " a deep dark secret."

If there is nothing else to do after i watch "The Amazing Race," i will watch DH. If there is, i can live without it because i could miss half the season of this show and they will still be telling the exact same story when i decide to tune in again.

Marc Cherry.....let it go!

Really, because I don't think a truly selfish person would have taken in a girl and tried to care for her as much as Gabby is doing. Yes she's kicking and screaming while doing it, but if she wasn't then it would be totally out of character. And, she did what she had to when she didn't have money, which is what she has always done(her modeling career). Now that she's comfortable she's going to reward herself, which is what any person would do.

Of all the characters on DH, I think they've handled Gabby's growth the most realistically.

What I loved about this episode is that it really showed off what great actresses these women really are. I would've expected Longoria-Parker to grow into such a comedic talent, but would never have imagined to be able to blend it with such realistic, dramatic acting as well. As funny as she is with her one-liners, she is believable and touching during that ending scene with Ana as well.

Lynette's character and same-old overburdened mother storyline may be getting old, but Huffman's delivery never does. She kills every moment, every beat. Her blazing speech to that poor pregnant woman was a riot, only to instantly contrast to that last bit about being lonely. Huffman definitely boasts the most range.

Delany is so wonderfully subtle. When tears well in her eyes, it's such a puppy dog moment, it breaks my heart. Hatcher has always been able to switch between physical comedy and earnestness, and Cross can make even the most annoying storylines interesting with her performance.

I'm hoping Drea DeMatteo will get some meaty material. This was a soft introduction for her.

I really LOVED this premiere. At first I was bored to death for the first half-hour and felt like this show was really turning a page for me. Then the second half hour rolled around and I quickly remember why I LOVE this show sooo much.

Okay gotta say everyone was pretty darn fantastic tonight but Eva Longoria Parker and Felicity Huffman were the standouts for me.

I have to agree with all the praise for Eva here. We all know by now she is the comedic tour-de-force on the show but her final scene with her niece was well acted. And it was well written as well. It was also nice to see that the writers are maturing Gaby somewhat. Her reaction in that scene – the blend between telling the niece off (which she had coming btw) and then adding the emotional context to it was perfectly acted for Eva. She really got me in that scene.

Another brilliant written and acted scene was Lynnette’s breakdown to Tom when she confesses she does not love her unborn twins. Gosh Huffman was sooo painfully authentic in that scene and I believe it kind of reminded me of DH in the first season. Someone said the show can’t shock anymore... well these are the moments and scenes that made DH such a hit with fans. It was these scenes where the characters would say something so painfully honest that created the shock value for me. I truly understood Lynnette’s pain in that moment. Her kids are grown and almost out the house and after all the financial woes and weight issues that goes along with having kids and pregnancy – I mean who would want to go through that all over again - especially at this age in their lives!!! I really hope they pursue this storyline because it sure does have a lot of potential as a lot of people can relate to it.

The Susan/Mike/Katherine stuff provided the comic relief the episode needed and it serve its purpose well. However when Mike scolded Katherine in front of everyone I thought the scene should have been played out where Katherine walks away completely rejected and totally humiliated. Dana Delany’s reaction to Mike’s public scolding of Katherine was soo heartbreaking and personally I would have loved to see the writers go truly dark with the character.

Well evidently it looks like that’s where they are heading and I am happy for it. But I would like to see the character go really DARK and not just be the jilted ex-lover doing stupid things for comedic purposes. Because let’s face it… as great an actress Delany is - after Katherine started getting along with the other housewives midway through season four – the character never served any real purpose on the show anymore. So I suggest make her go DARK and then kick the character off the show. I mean won’t it be a true shocker if it turns out that it was Katherine who is responsible for what happened to Julie at the end. Clearly it was a man who knocked her out but I’m just saying… be a little more creative DH!!!

Okay the whole Drea DeMatteo storyline… gotta say I am very intrigued and curious as to wanting to know what’s going to happen with this storyline. Someone wrote that it felt to them that the father was coming on to Julie and this is what my sister said as well when we were watching last night’s episode. However I had a different take on it immediately after I saw that scene. To me it came across as if the father was trying to carefully warn Julie about his son without really raising her suspicions.

And yes I agreed with the poster who thought it was weird that Julie would be tutoring the son. When the new neighbors moved in and I saw that they had a teenage son my first thought was: “well who are they going to pair this guy with because there aren’t anymore teenagers left on Wisteria Lane.” Then I remember Carlos and Gaby’s niece and I figured he would be paired with her. So the Julie tutoring him just seemed a little forced but then we got the ending and we understood why they had Julie paired with him. But that does not mean it was the son who knocked her out. It could be the father - so who knows at this point!!! I still think having Katherine be the culprit is the way to go. LOL

Finally I know this is an unpopular opinion but the whole Bree/Carl love affair is boring to me. I loved the fact that they are seemingly maturing Gaby. I mean as crazy as it sounds but I truly did get that Gaby is now a mother of two and would have her motherly instincts kicked into overdrive in her reprimand of her niece throughout the episode. But this whole nonsense of Bree even thinking that Carl might be someone she wants to get involved with just does not ring true to the character of Bree.

Every time I saw them together I couldn’t stop thinking about Susan. I mean Bree obviously knows how mean Carl was to Susan and what kind of a man Carl was and still is. Therefore her wanting to be with Carl is utter B.S.

I understand they are probably working the "just divorced, I'm lonely and want to try something new and different" angle with Bree - but for now I don't see this pairing or relationship (if you want to call it that between her and Carl) going anywhere anytime soon!!! And that's why I believe it's a waste-of-my-time storyline.

Overall another a fantastic premier for DH!!!

It was a good episode, on a par with the last season’s premiere and the cliffhanger at the end was really intriguing. And I hope Angie wasn’t some kind of shapeshifter since it will change the genre of the show.
I’m so happy they brought Julie back and link her to the annual mystery. What went down between Julie and Danny didn’t reveal itself much, so was it possible they knew each other before, judging from his look at the window when he saw Julie hugging Susan?
I want to see the interaction among the neighborhood teenagers and young adults, so put Ana and Porter in there too! And what about the twin who plays Preston? Does he no longer return?

It was an episode where Susan really stood out in terms of screentime and acting. I loved that Susan was the bride as I don’t want to see Mike being with Katherine just waiting for the time to get back with Susan before the show ends. And the wedding ceremony was totally different from the last one in season 3 finale, so it wasn’t redundant. Katherine was also good; I believe she will be critical and bitchy again like she was in season 4 as the boring Katherine in season 5 didn’t work.

Lynette was fantastic given the limited screentime she had. My guess about her pregnancy is that she put the twins up for adoption and later regretted it. On second thought, it might involve death in childbirth since Marc Cherry once planned to have Lynette deal with death of a child.

Gabby was as good as usual but it wasn’t as strong as the last season. And I think the writers successfully justified Bree finally having sex with Karl. But I’m not sure this storyline arc will work in the long run.

Last but not least, Mrs.McKlusky has a boyfriend! Is it significant to overall big picture of the show?

"Housewives" exclusive: Find out why Mike picked (spoiler alert)!
by Michael Ausiello

"Housewives" wasted no time resolving last May’s “Who’d Mike marry?” cliffhanger. In the opening minutes of tonight’s sixth-season opener, it was revealed that Mike picked soul mate Susan over Katherine. Surprised? Join the club. I thought for sure "Housewives" boss Marc Cherry would drag out the Susan-Mike romance for another season at least. Heck, he essentially threatened to do just that last April at Paley Fest ‘09, telling fans he would likely string us along for “a few more years” before marrying them off. So what happened to change his mind?

Cherry tells me he had a fan-driven epiphany over the show’s hiatus. “I originally was going to have Mike marry Katherine,” he admits, “but as I went out into the world on vacation and just started talking to people they were so determined that Mike and Susan should get together; they were so insistent on it. So I started to think, ‘What if I went that way.’ And it occurred to me that it might be a more effective way to go as opposed to frustrating the fans for another year by keeping Mike and Susan apart. The fans demanded it in a voice so loud I kind of was scared to go against them.”

There were creative advantages as well. Cherry says having Mike and Susan happily married “plays better for this season’s mystery.” It also gives Dana Delany a meaty woman scorned story, the beginnings of which we saw tonight. “Katherine has a breakdown,” says Cherry. “And it’s going to be one of the funniest breakdowns you’ve ever seen.”

But what about Cherry’s assertion at Paley Fest that happily married couples “are the death” of soap operas? “The truth is, Tom and Lynette have been married for five seasons going on six and I’ve managed to keep that relationship [interesting],” he maintains. “There’s stuff to mine there once we accept that they’re together as a couple.

“I don’t anticipate ever breaking [Mike and Susan] up again,” he continues. “So now it’s up to me to find out what’s interesting about that marriage. I’ve done it with other marriages on the show, I now just have to do it with Mike and Susan.”

"They made a porn movie about Sarah Palin, and the same actress, Lisa Ann, played me in the porn version of '30 Rock.' Weirdly, of the three of us, Lisa Ann knows the most about foreign policy."

My show is back!

And to think that I wasn't going to tune in. I hope that the writing and storylines are strong b/c this premier set things up to be really good this yr. But I cosign w/the ppl saying that the prerequisite season mysteries are played out and only worked for the inaugural season and imo for season 4. And as for the new family they are all meh and I can say that Drea will never have a role as compelling as Adrianna ever again.

As long as the show doesn't let the season mystery eat the show and insult my intelligence (Dave!) and the storylines are decent for the wives I am back as a regular viewer.

I'll never stop watching this show, I really really like it, but I get frustrated at the beginning of every season when the new mystery comes up...

Sometimes I wonder why the need of a mystery? Can't this show be about the women and nothing else? And wasn't last season enough of a proof that this is true? The Dave thing was a train wreck and was discovered the minuted it started and yet the other women managed to move and on create some good episodes (*some*)...

Why another new family, why another new mystery, why the same exact house?

I understand that it's always been Cherry's intention to have a new mystery each season, but since only ONE of them was any good and the following four have sucked, why the hell does he need to do it again?

The show has managed to stay strong and with lots of fans despite the fact that the mysteries have gone bad pretty quickly, why can't he have faith on his original characters and his cast and stop it with this sh-t?

I'm not saying Drea's thing is gonna suck, but I think at this point we're far more excited for her coming back to t.v then we'll ever be about this mystery....Hopefully, HOPEFULLY Julie is dead and that can bring some new cool drama to the show, but then again, it's clear we have two suspects and two suspects only, so half the fun is already gone...Seriously, do we really need a whole season of "it was the father...it was the son"???

The premiere was nice by the way, great job from Hatcher and Delaney who one seriously has to start asking "why is she still here?"...And enough with Orson...

I liked it. It's season six and I'm a fan of this show since its beginning, but there ahve always been little things here and there that bug the sh*t outta me. Things that have me annoyed while watching and I hated being mad while watching a tv show of all things. lol So I just made it a point to throw all of that out of the window and just enjoy the damn show for what it is. And I gotta say I really enjoyed all of last night when I wasnt looking for insignificant things to nitpick over. lol

Love Bree being a semi-adulteress tramp. Only she could make an affair lady like! She's got great chemistry with Richard Burgi but hell who doesn't? He seems to be an actors dream scene partner.

Lynette's hilarious interaction with the pregnant woman was balanced greatly with her breakdown over not wanting/loving the new twins. a pretty powerful scene there. very frank. I do hope though that they give us something new this time with her pregnancy. We'll have to wait and see.

Drea rocks. Pretty crazy reveal at the end there. It'll be fun seein her add some spice to the show and I love that she will almost definitely not take any crap from any of the woman and have no problem putting any of them in their place. I'm hoping the mystery isnt a letdown.

The Susan and Katherine stuff was fun. I like that theyre setting up Katherine to be Susan's new Edie. Susan is at her best when she's got a rival and Delany was as hoot last night playing Katherine already one step away from the loony bin with that wedding dress scene.

All in all good stuff. Here's to hoping it is a great season.

Felicity Huffman and Eva Longoria Parker were the standouts. But to be honest, the material for Marcia Cross was mediocre and the Susan/Katherine stuff was rather silly. The writers need to do a much better balance of material for all the actresses this season. Seriously.

Yeah all in good fun. I just had to comment too b/c the thought crossed my mind last night when I watched as well. When they showed a closeup of the bride's foot in the shoe, I thought to myself, "That has to be Teri's petite little leg, Dana's got a bit more meat on her." Cool

Wow Pats was Longoria intentionally skipped from the review? I know you don't like the character (or probably the actress) but I'm just shocked. LOL.
