Oh please, Richard Burgi was just quoted a bit ago as saying he loved working with Marcia and that he's had a crush on her for years. He said working with her was a "dream come true".

Really? When did he say that? I'd love to know the source so I could see the full quote, if you remember. I love the Bree/Karl pairing so much!

Sure beats the fire from last yr! -------------------------------------- 'Desperate Housewives' exclusive: Catastrophe rocks Wisteria Lane by Michael Ausiello That noise you hear is the sound of property values plummeting on Wisteria Lane. This November on Desperate Housewives, the most dangerous street in America will be the site of yet another calamity, this time a neighborhood plane crash.
“It’s going to be my cliffhanger for the first half of the season,” series creator Marc Cherry says of the tragedy, which, he adds, will “affect everyone’s lives.” Since the story is still in the planning stages, many of the biggest details — including who’ll be on board the small aircraft and who’ll be in its path — are still, as it were, up in the air. But this much Cherry knows for sure: The catastrophe will not claim the life of a housewife. “I’d love to kill somebody ’cause that’s just what I do,” he laughs. “But the truth is, right now I don’t have anyone major dying.”

At least a fire, tornado, and supermarket hold-up, were vaguely believable.
But, the big event doesn't matter to me. As long as the big event episode is well written(unlike last year's), that's all that matters and that's what will help them to get viewership up.

Not excited about this either. When DH tries to have a trend with their storylines [mystery, tragedy etc.], they only pull it off well the first time, all the following attempts were ineffective already.
I hope The Office wins as Best Comedy Series for this year's Emmy Awards.

I Actually continue to like this show every year. Most of the scenes were very good. Marcia Cross's eyes when Julie woke up was funny ass hell. Teri Hatcher was terrific and I loved the scene with Felicity Huffman when Lynette admits to her conversation with Julie. Eva Longoria has also come a long way. I think I see a nice little rivalry between her and Angie Bolen and her niece being caught in the lie was in a kinda clever way. Overall good episode but this mystery better not be some mob crap. B
MVP: Teri Hatcher
The Best Is Hopefully yet to come. DH usually does some great stunt episodes so this plane crash could either be as good as "Bang" or "Something's Coming" or really really tacky & bad like "City on Fire" so I'll save my opinion for when the episode airs but all these problems make this show very soap-ish.

That was a great follow-up to the season premiere. I don't know if they were throwing a red herring there with Julie possibly being pregnant or not, and that could throw in another person as a possible suspect in Julie's attack other than Danny. They've made Katherine pretty ridiculous and delusional now, but I don't think they'd have her do that to Julie. Drea's making a great impression so far, but it's funny and jarring at the same time to feel like you're hearing/seeing a grown-up, suburban Adriana. Bree and Karl's fling will hopefully have some major fireworks to them once Susan finds out. This was a nice episode for Kathryn Joosten with her bookends. I think they're leading to a miscarriage for Lynette just as she's beginning to accept being pregnant again. I was hoping in her heart-to-heart with Susan that she would just flat-out say that she's at least contemplating having an abortion, but at least it was sort of hinted at. Gabrielle's scenes with Ana were fun with her advice to get Danny to notice her, though now both Ana and Julie as possible love interests for Danny was a stretch. Either way, these are compelling openers for the season.
Grade for "Being Alive": B+

I don’t remember the last time I watched this show and left me asking for more! This episode was well-written and moving along smoothly. I really enjoyed every minute of it. With more of an ensemble episode, Teri Hatcher still stood out. From commenting to Bree on how sleazy Karl and his potential woman were to talking to Lynette about how motherhood meant to her was simply amazing.
So Lynette will no longer consider abortion, will her? I loved how the writers found the way to connect her storyline with the whole incident without pushing too much I’m-done-being-a-mother plot. I don’t see a miscarriage in the future, but it could be death of a child or something. I don’t think Marc Cherry will keep more infants around until the end.
Nothing related to the storyline, but I loved what they did with Bree’s hair; she looked even more gorgeous. Her scene with the doctor and one with Susan was funny. The chemistry between her and Karl was incredible, the law of opposites attract worked here.
Gabby didn’t have anything much, but the dynamics of her relationship with Ana weren’t a cliché after all. For a second, I thought it might have been Ana who strangled Julie. Linking Ana to Danny’s fake alibi made it seem inevitable that Danny did it as he had something to hide. Maybe the actual person who did it didn’t even appear in these episodes. And who did Julie get sexually involved? What they did with all the mystery characters so far has been good. I’m glad they didn’t have to make them look creepy and psychotic like they did with Dave or Orson back in season 3. With everything going for it now, please don’t let me down in the end!!!
Mrs. McKlusky’s love was strangely cute. I hope Katherine Joosten’s doing fine with her treatment. And did Katherine really go crazy or she only try to stir things up?
All in all, it was a great episode with nothing too elaborate. That’s why I’m afraid the annual disaster episode won’t match up again.
I'm calling it now, Drea's character is the one that strangled Julie. She saw Julie make her son upset and went after her.
The son is too obvious, as is the way they're writing the father, as if purposely trying to make him seem like the suspect.
When Drea's character was giving the pep talk to the son and made the quip about hitting the other mother in the face when he was little and was getting picked on or whatever, that's a classic Cherry hint.
It also explains why she was over-working the fake alibi for the son and acting very sensitive toward the rest of the street's perception.
