Is it just me, or does James Spader already have his category in the bag? Do you think anyone will be able to resist that long monologue, or will they consider it to be too "baity?"
Spader is going to be tuff to beat. He is 3 for 3 so far.
Since 2004 he has a fairly good track record at the Emmys:
2004 for the last season of The Practice 2005 for the 1st season of Boston Legal 2006 No Nomination for the 2nd Season of BL 2007 for the 3rd season of BL
He only been Golden Globe Nominated in 2005 and SAG Nominated for both Comedy and Drama and Ensemble but never their either.
Does he really need a 4th Emmy for the same character? Yes and No, Boston Legal is funny, smart, well written, and witty. It takes on socially important issues and shows both sides of them.
Spader has many of the best moments of the series and is front and center.
Hopefully this year his nomination will be reward enough and one of the other nominees can win. Since I am sure he will be back in 09 for the big ending of Boston Legal which should be an Emmy grabber for sure.

Actually, James Spader should and needs to win. Rumors have it that Boston Legal will stay on longer if it does well at the Emmys and the ratings go up in its new timeslot.
Personally, I love Boston Legal and especially James Spader on the show. Saying that, he has three Emmys already and I would love to see Hugh Laurie bag this up.

Personally, I can't stand James Spader, but I can see where people can actually like him.
As for him winning the Emmy to keep his show on the air, that is just BS.
I find it funny tho, people get mad when performers are given "Bait" to win Emmys. Maybe I am in the minority here, but isn't that what has gotten James Spader his three Emmy Awards? Pure BAIT!
i hope James Spader gets number four, he's brilliant in that show. he plays both comedy and drama, i'd say we get more from him than any other nominee.

Ooh someone that agrees with me lol. Who has the most Emmy wins for a role? Candice Bergen with 5?
He should win again. Larroquette, Bergen and Hunt all have 4 or in Bergens case 5 for the same show. Who knows how the next season of BL will play out. It is only scheduled for 13 episodes and then will be cancelled. I am concerned about where the 13 will air because of all the guaranteed election coverage and holidays.
WILLIAM PETERSEN: Well, this is a shock. The only explanation for this is that somehow in the last year, every one of you tried to act with rubber gloves and tweezers.
