Now I'm wondering if ELP can score a surprise nod. She apparently has more popularity with voters than many of us gave her credit for AND she submitted a tape that showcases her best work to date.
I just have to laugh that Teri is the only Housewife not to make it in. That's just too perfect. Yay for Anna Friel. Really great for Sarah Silverman and I'm so glad Patricia Heaton didn't make it.
Okay, Lindsay, are you forgetting that I was a professional twice over— an analyst and a therapist. The world’s first analrapist.
YAY for Marcia Cross, Christina Applegate and America Ferrera!

That's great news for Eva Longoria Parker. I'm glad that she's finally getting in the door to be considered along with the others in her field. She has an excellent tape with "In Buddy's Eyes" this year, so I'll wish her all the best at a nomination. It's odd that Sarah Silverman was on their radar when they snubbed Teri Hatcher like that. She was great this season and deserved the consideration, but she didn't submit well, so it wouldn't have gone further than this. The rest was expected more or less, and I never thought that Patricia Heaton would make it in.

I'm very happy to see that Pushing Daisies is going over so well with the Academy. I expected the series to make the top ten, but if Friel (probably the most unknown of the major cast members) gets on the list, that's great news.
Sarah Silverman is hilarious, but her show isn't. But I'm still happy to see her make the list. She had to be at the bottom of the list, though, and honestly, she won't do THAT well in the panel.
The Teri Hatcher snub is surprising, especially given that Eva Longoria Parker pulled it off. This is another sign that Housewives is officially out of the Emmy spotlight.
Friel may have an outside shot. The dialogue in Daisies is so fast paced and strong that she will stand out. And if the show is going over really well, she could be swept to a nomination.
I'm proud of Emmy voters for resisting the urge to nominate Patricia Heaton. Good call.
Predictions:
America Ferrera Julia Louis-Dreyfus Tina Fey Mary-Louise Parker Ana Friel
Next: Christina Applegate
Friel is my gutsy call in this category. She may be pretty low on the popular vote, but given DH's series snub, I think it's possible that Friel is higher than we think.

"Sandwich Day" is the funniest of these episodes in my opinion, Tina Fey could take the Emmy...I'm rooting for Marcia Cross,Anna Friel and Tina Fey...we'll see I guess!!

Originally posted by Boomer: Take note that Tina Fey has switched her episode from "Episode 210" to "Sandwich Day". What do you think of that move by her??
As we all pretty much said when Tom released word of the switch a few weeks back, it's a stronger episode overall even if she has an amazing scene in Episode 210 where she drinks wine on a treadmill and talks about buying a "black apartment."
Ugh, Sarah Silverman? Family Guy? What have we COME to?
Well, if nothing else, those two (and the omission of Terry O'Quinn) prove what I believed all along, that this year is gonna be a shock-studded scramble all the way through, and I'm excited. For the first time in well over a decade, we REALLY have ourselves an open convention here, so to speak. So much is up in the air just because there's so much wildly unexpected new blood in contention. Teri Hatcher's out and Longoria's in? I don't think Eva had been in this group since the first year, had she? I very strongly believe Cross is back in the final five this year, as she essentially has three tapes--she steals Huffman and Longoria's submissions from them, and she would've stolen Hatcher's too if she'd gotten in.
Applegate Cross Ferrera Fey Louis-Dreyfus 6th: Friel, or Huffman if anybody falls for that hateful bullsh*t tape that's a real contender for the series' lowest point, and that's saying a lot considering the tornado and Lynette pretending her kid had cancer so she could go to the gym
Well these Emmy lists get more and more shocking now don't they!
I think people are getting a little over zealous when they say Longoria-Parker has an outside shot for a nod now. She only made the Top 10 people, and probably low in the vote at that.
And how weird is it that these "stuffy, older skewing men" that we keep hearing populate ATAS includes Sarah Silverman, the queen of grotesque inpropriety??
How long til Teri Hatcher's face heals from the huge slap? Sad...she's on my shortlist for sure.
For all we know, Silverman didn't take Hatchers spot. But I'm glad Longoria Parker made the list. I have a feeling she could get in and she's probably 7 or 8 in the popular vote.
My best guess on Comedy Lead Actress on the popular vote...
1. Tina Fey 2. America Ferrera 3. Julia Louis-Dreyfus 4. Mary-Louise Parker 5. Christina Applegate 6. Felicity Huffman 7. Anna Friel 8. Marcia Cross 9. Sarah Silverman 10. Eva Longoria Parker
Wowza I love that list. No notable omissions that I can think of.
S it's officially Marcia Cross or bust for me with the Emmys this year.
