"A movie is not good because it arrives at conclusions you share, or bad because it does not. A movie is not about what it is about. It is about how it is about it: about the way it considers its subject matter, and about how its real subject may be quite different from the one it seems to provide." - Roger Ebert, from the introduction to "Awake in the Dark" (2006)

I'll probably pick the winners sometime in late June. Until then, for any Emmy voters who lurk here, feel free to copy these nominees onto your ballots where applicable.

Love, simply love your nominations! From these nominees I'd give two awards to Billie Piper (definetely the best actrees on TV this season!), David Tennant for "Doctor Who" (no other actor is on his level), January Jones (Catherine Tate would be a very close runner-up) and Sigourney Weaver (sorry "Grey Gardens" ladies, you were fantastic but she pwns you). But these are your awards so to each his own.

This is a great list, but the thing I really want to happily point out is the mention of Kim Dickens as Shelby on Friday Night Lights. I was so impressed with her throughout the season and its someone who I never hear anyone else mention.
In playing the role of a woman who is trying to make up to her teenage son for abandoning him as a child, I thought she nailed it. She played the right amount of regret without being overly dramatic. The writing for the character was great as well.
Good selection, 742.

A combination of an extraordinarily crowded field of dramas and a season of "Mad Men" that was hard to love led me to leave it out of the drama series, lead actor, and ensemble cast races. (It placed about tenth in my final analysis.) But it's a testament to the show's quality that it managed eight nominations from me anyway.
Thanks for the comments and compliments everyone!

742; I havent even heard of some of these shows. I look at it as a guideline and suggestions from an astute analyst (and because we agree so often, lol).

Originally posted by ChargerFan: I love your nominees, but I wish you had more love for "Old Christine" (at least a nom for JLD). Great lists, though!
I love Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and though I don't think "The New Adventures of Old Christine" is always equal to her talent, I did find a spot for her in the lead actress category in 2007. And you'll be happy to know that JLD is already a two-time winner: for "Seinfeld" in '98, and for her guest star turn on "Arrested Development" in '04.

Chris Lilley should so win Best Comady Actor or at least Best New Actor in a TV Series. All 3 of his characters are hilarious even tho the show is a little old (well, at least in these parts it was shown two years ago).

I just got a chance to look at this and I have to say it's really comprehensive. Good work.
I'm really happy to see Jonny Lee Miller remembered for his great performance on "Eli Stone".
It's also nice to see Jaime Pressly recognized. I thought she was really strong this year, and she had some of her best individual performances this season.
I will begin announcing my winners on Monday. Since I have so many categories, I'll announce over the course of days and update the original post as I go along.

FUN FACTS: This is Ian McShane's first Sidney Award. He was previously nominated three times for playing Al Swearengen on HBO's "Deadwood." McShane's win sets two precedents: (1) he is the first person to win Best Actor or Actress in a New Television Series on his show's only nomination, and (2) he is only the second to win this prize for a show not renewed for a second season (following Andre Braugher for "Gideon's Crossing").

She is only the third person to win for new series acting for a 30-minute program, following Bonnie Hunt ("Life with Bonnie," '03) and Stephen Colbert ("The Colbert Report," '06).
