it got me thinking. Now and then I've heard it said that "Amazing Race" is one of those shows saved from cancellation by winning an Emmy early on. Is that true? Were CBS exex hovering over it with an ax?
Cause it's the best reality show on television. That's why.
Grammy FYC: Kanye West, 808s & Heartbreak; Black Eyed Peas, The E.N.D.; John Legend, Evolver; Paolo Nutini, Sunny Side Up; David Guetta, One Love; Kelly Clarkson, "Already Gone"; Jordin Sparks, "Battlefield"; Kings Of Leon, "Use Somebody"; Maxwell, "Pretty Wings"
I'm not aware that Sarah Jessica Parker is a fan of The Amazing Race. LOL.
And as much as I love Top Chef, Survivor, and Project Runway, The Amazing race is still the best reality show among the crop of nominees and thus, deserves to dominate that category year after year after year.
I hope The Office wins as Best Comedy Series for this year's Emmy Awards.

What's crazy is that she exact same show managed to survive this long. When it got saved I thought it would be for a year or two, how long has it been? Six, seven years already?
The show should have the Emmy in the bag already for next year after last night's stellar premiere. Between the "Wasabi Bomb!" and the ducks, this show never gets old.

I totally agree. They could easily submit last night's premiere as their tape next year, and there's still two whole seasons left for an even more Emmy worthy episode.
This show will deservingly continue to win the Emmy. The logistics to produce the show are astounding. Setting up all the challenges all around the world is a greater feat than throwing some people in a house or slapping them up on a stage. Also, the drama that ignites occurs naturally in competition much like a sporting event. They are not set up to hate each other and vote each other out.

Surprise! Tom once again lobs a grenade at The Daily Show.
I don't really really watch it much anymore, but everything I heard indicates that 2008 was TDS's strongest year in many years. SNL had those fabulous Sarah Palin sketches, but otherwise was as limp as it has been for the last decade.
FYC:
Drama Series: Big Love Drama Actor: Gabriel Byrne, In Treatment Drama Supporting Actress: Hope Davis, In Treatment Drama Supporting Actor: Michael Emerson, Lost

Cannot agree more. I just love to see them compete around the world and at the same time I have the chance to learn other culture from the show.

I looooooove the Amazing Race! And this season is off to a great start. It's certainly the best produced reality show on television and has been very deserving of its Emmy wins... However, I agree that it's time for them to bow out of the Series competition and let some fresh blood win...
"The Amazing Race" deserves every one of its Emmys. What kills me is that the bitter Jeff Probst has the nerve to say the show should pull out of the Emmy race after winning so many times.
My response to this is...let's see if Probst will withdrawl his name from Outstanding Reality Host since he won the last 2 years in a row.
I doubt it!
CONGRATS to "The Amazing Race" for winning Emmy #7 and for a stellar season premiere. No doubt, i see Emmy #8 in its future, and i hope Jeff Probst is the one who presents the award on Emmy night.
Love love love the premiere for The Amazing Race. What's good about the show is that we've memorized the formula already yet we're still surprised on what happens and we still get hooked.
I would love to see it win til Emmy#10 because it deserves so.
I hope The Office wins as Best Comedy Series for this year's Emmy Awards.

Why? Cause everyone is dying to see "Survivor" or "American Idol" win a Series Emmy? No thanks.
