Robin Williams will guest star in the 200th episode of Law & Order: SVU.

He will play an engineer whose life has gone off-track following a tragedy. Events lead him to start questioning authority, and encouraging others to do the same.

The episode will air in the US on April 29.

Guess Actress in a Supporting Role?

About the guests...

Comedy Guest Actress
Can Betty White get nominated? Wasn't that supossed to be against the rules? Playing herself?

I think Stritch, Falco and Fisher are pretty much locks. Specially Stritch. Having won last year and comming back to do the exact same thing.

I'd love to see Vivica Fox there, although I don't for what episode...

Guest Actor in a Comedy Series...
Freddy Rodriguez? Seriously? Ted Danson on Curb? I don't think so...Craig T Nelson? Yes please...Arnett and Modine could seem safe....

I think the 30 Rock people will do ok, it certainly had the best season for a Comedy Series and these people were pretty much a part of it. I'd love to see David Schwimmer in place of the horrible performance from Rodriguez, a fine actor in a horrible second season of a nice show. Much more deserving.

The rule is that "Cameo appearances in which the person plays himself/herself are not eligible for entry."

So Betty White can't compete if her appearance was extremely short. Otherwise, she is eligible just like Ian McKellen, Kate Winslet, Ben Stiller and Patrick Stewart.

Well I still don't know....I couple of weeks ago somebody asked the same question and they said that she was playing herself and the Extras people were all playing exagerated or different sides of themselves so it wasn't seen or qualified as a true real "her/herself", but an actual character somebody created for them.

Either way, I don't think White should be nominated.

I just wanted to see if somebody could clarify this...

Kristin Chenoweth guest starred on Ugly Betty last season, she's not eligible. Also I think that Eileen Atkins might be a contender in Supporting Actress - Miniseries/Movie for Cranford, she got very good reviews and recieved a BAFTA nomination.

No we don't know yet until Emmy season once again. But with the pouring love for Boston Legal last year, I know there's a part of her cringing that she didn't submit last year. LOL!

G'Day,
I don't think we ever officially found out, could be for similar reasons she withdrew her name for Murphy Brown, she felt like she has enough hardware. Then again dosn't explain why she submitted herself the previous 2 years - maby she couldn't bare losing again?
She had to know she was a fair chance of recieving a nomination so It wouldn't have been a "i have no chance anyway, why bother" (although she did have very little to do on the show last year, so maby she thought she had no chance to win).

In hindsight with Hiegel having won I'm disappointed that Bergan didn't submit herself, because although I wouldn't have voted for her she would have been a much more deserving winner and although she would have struggled to find a tape her with her name and the Boston Legal love (not to mention even when she hasn't got much to do she's great) she could have given Heigel a run for her money (in what turned out to be a wide open race).

Congratulations West Wing, Emmys most honored drama. 27 Emmys including 4 best drama series

I thought the official reason candice bergen didn't submit herself for consideration last year was because she felt she hadn't done anything emmy worthy all season with the material(or lack of) that she'd been given, prompting David E. Kelley to give her more material this season to work with.

Anyway, i think she is going to submit herself this season. She already has a great tape, a decent tape and she should have a tape coming up since they are casting her Alzheimer's ridden father.

I'd consider Jim Parsons of "Big Bang Theory" as a Supporting Actor/Comedy contender. He's the MVP by far, reminiscent of David Hyde Pierce's work on "Frasier." And "BBT" is one of the few comedy successes on the teevee of late.

The show is 1. Not that good in terms of awards (it's actually very very funny) and 2. Not that many people watch it.

I find Big Ban Theory funnier than How I met Your Mother for example, so if Neil Patrick Harris can get a nod, then this Jim Parsons guy can too, he really is that funny. But sadly Parsons is not a well known actor, he's not a recently outed gay actor (which was like 70% of his nomination last year, sorry) or in a decently rated show.

Yeah, Parsons is going to need a lot of help from the critics to overcome the fact that he's an unknown quantity. Hopefully he can break through; it's not as if his category is exactly bursting at the seams.

I don't see him getting a great deal of critic's support being that fellow newbies Lee Pace and Zachary Levi (I think he's lead) are on shows with far more buzz and acclaim. I also think that critic's have (rightfully) become anti-CBS.

How are they anti CBS when Two and Half Men got 5 huge nods last year (plus some others), and Dreyfuss and Harris?

Are there any other CBS comedies worth mentioning? I think they proved to be very pro-CBS, Mother and Christine were not going to get anywhere else than in those two categories, and Men got more than it deserved (Sheen) and they've let category fraud slide two years and will continue to do it (Cryer).

I think that has more to do with acknowledging traditional sitcoms and comedies that people actually watch.
