Verdict:
A great season that I think is an improvent on the Emmy-winning first season. Definetely a major contender for another win this year. A great cast with Alec Baldwin, Tina Fey and Jack McBrayer as the standouts. Especially Baldwin's monologue in Rosemary's Baby was legendary. Also some great guest performances, especially from Scwimmer, Arnett and Falco.

Verdict:
One of my favourite shows at it's best, but it was a bit to uneven this season. Very much going on, which meant little progress in each of the different stories each episode. That gave me a feeling that the show was moving too slow. Then came that amazing last episode that gives be great hopes for the final part of this series. I think it will be one of my biggest favourites next year. As for the cast, McDonnell, Olmos, Hogan, Callis and Sackhoff all gave good performances, though none of them are amongst my favourites this year.

Verdict:
While it was good but nothing more last year, Big Love really kicked into gear this summer and delivered a fantastic season. The business storylines were good, but it was the excellent family drama that I really loved. There are several episodes that could give Big Love the nod, but I think “Take Me as I Am” is the best choice. The cast is simply sensational. My overall season favourite were Sevigny. Tripplehorn were great too, and I really hope at least one of them gets a nod. Goodwin really stepped up this season, but I don’t see her getting a nod as lead. A case could be made for her being supporting, which should improve her chances. Paxton also has some good performances, but I think he has more potential than he gets to show. Still, he is definitely in the running. Of the rest I really like Zabriskie who has a shot. The guest performances by both Burstyn and Place should also be in the running; with especially Burstyn as a major candidate. At last I think Bruce Dern has a really great tape and could earn a nod. There were some other performances that deserve to be mentioned, although I don’t think they have a shot at a nod: Stanton is great, but probably has to little screen time. Chase impressed me in “Rock and a Hard Place”. I really like Majorino too. Lastly Matt Ross had a solid and consistent season, but there were no episodes where he really stood out.

Verdict:
A fresh and enjoyable show that kicked off with a great pilot that unfortunately was the peak of the season. In my opinion procedurals can only get you so far, you need strong season- or multi-episode storylines to really excel. I thought they had that in the question of "Who burned Michael and why?", but to my surprise and disappointment this was pushed too far into the background. It ended up by mainly being a "villain of the week"-show, and while still worth watching I think that made the show too repetitive. I like the regular cast, but I don't think anyone really stands out. Bruce Campbell probably has the best chance of getting a nod, but that would still be a major surprise to me.

Verdict:
This show may feel a bit heavy in the beginning, but once you get into the characters and their stories it is simply mesmerizing. Great characters and an amazing cast. The whole cast deserves to be mentioned, but Mia Wasikowska was the standout for me, with Blair Underwood and Gabriel Byrne close behind.

Verdict:
I love HBO and had huge expectations for this one, and it’s safe to say I ended up extremely disappointed. It started out confusing and strange, but as most other HBO shows has taken a couple episodes to settle in, I thought nothing of it. In episode 3 and 4 it seemed that it was actually going somewhere, but after that the whole thing totally fell apart. There was no real storyline, either within each episode nor the season as a whole and I got the feeling they had no idea where they wanted the show go, or what story they were going to tell. There were actually a couple of noteworthy performances, especially by O’Neill, but overall they completely drowned in the mess this show was.
