Well, we are nearing the end of another season of 'Idol', and we are now down to the final three performers standing. Obviously, most of us have been resigned to the seemingly inevitable showdown between the Davids for the finale all season. However, Syesha has deservingly made her way through this competition to the final three, and I am so happy for her to have made it this far! I've pulled for her each week, and have endeared myself to her. She is a very talented singer and performer on stage, and no doubt, she will have success hopefully long after 'Idol'.
So, the only true suspense this week is will we have a "shocker" of major proportions to boot out one of the Davids from meeting in the finale? Well, I have learned over the years to not be surprised by anything that can potentially happen on this show.
Is it likely to happen? No. However, Melinda was eliminated at this very point of the competition one year ago. All of this is simply just enough intrigue to hold your interest. That's the fun about this show, despite how maddening the process can be most times, especially with this ridiculous voting system every year.
You all know the format for the Top 3 each year. On Tuesday evening, each will perform three songs, with one of the songs being a choice from the judges.
Just curious. Is this all so anti-climatic at this point? What are your thoughts about the annoited one's dad being banned going backstage before this week's shows?
I haven't seen any more news yet about any special guests or live performances for Wednesday's results show on any of the blogs or from FOX or the main "Idol" site. I'll update this as soon as word comes, or definitely, one of you out there will post that news on this thread.

i think its funny about david achuleta's dad being banned from backstage?? maybe it would be a shocker if he was the one eliminated..man, i would i have a big smile on my face if that happens. bbut i kno america..so its unlikly that will happend!.. damn!! i wanna see a david cook/syehsa finale!!!
Like its likely that it will come down to the David vs. David showdown that the producers seemed to want since the top 12. Syesha is sorta in the same spot Vonzelle Soloman was in back in season 4. Nobody perdicted her to be in the final 3 but she managed but everybody knew that it was going to be a Bo Vs. Carrie finale during the top 3. I hope David A who I find boring to get the boot next but it wont happen. I really wished it would have been a Carly, David C, Brooke, Michael top 3(any combo) but w/e!

It'll be interesting to see what David. A is really made of without his puppetmaster dad calling the shots for his song choices and arrangements. It's the worst time for this to be happening for him.

David A. should be the most interesting to see this week because of the whole stage dad fiasco. You know damn well that will make somewhat of an affect on his performances. It should be interesting. I hope he pulls if off though.
As for Cook, we know he's not performing first, so he should be good. I think the person going home will be Syesha, but if there is a shocker, I think Archuleta will be the one. I don't see Cook being the one.

Well that was a stupid pick for Syesha...they just want to get rid of her...Randy tends to make the worse picks of all the judges every year.

I've never even heard that Billy Joel song I don't think...if its not on his Greatest Hits collection (2 discs!) with few exceptions (Innocent Man) then its not worthy. At least pick a Billy Joel song everyone knows!
Grr.
Simon's pick is great, as it always is.
Randy's pick sucks, as it always does.
I love when the judges attack them for song choice this week (always happens) even when another judge or Nigel or Clive picks the song for them. You just want to slap them.

You speak in ignorance. "And So it Goes" is a Billy Joel classic, and Paula was very smart to pick it for David Archuleta. It's exactly the type of ballady song his fans will eat up.

Excuse me, True Tenor, but I don't speak in ignorance at all. The song she picked peaked at #37; wasn't included on his biggest selling album (Greatest hits vol I&II compilation), and frankly, I doubt a lot of people watching will recognize it.
Compared to some of the other ballads from Billy Joel she could have picked (at least a half dozen others in the top 10s and highly recognizable), I find it a poor choice.
You are welcome to your opinion, but please refrain from calling other people ignorant just because you disagree with them.
I hope though, for David's sake, that you are right and I am wrong.
Here is a little more 'Idol' fodder...................
Yahoo.com picks for this season's 10 most memorable performances.
