YES!!! This show is always one that can be fun to watch before going to bed. According to my DVR it will air nightly beginning this Thursday on Showtime2 as always.

Maybe Julie will broadcast from inside the house this year.

I didn't really watch last season, but I rather adore musclebod Jessie because he responded to last summer's mild earthquake by immediately taking off his shirt. Baby knew full well that quake clip would draw eyeballs. Gotta love that kind of craven self-promotion.

Honestly thought there's always a 13th houseguest in the form of the CBS Executives and the producers cause if this show isn't rigged than i don't know what show is.
I'm bumping this for tonight, but I also take issue with this statement. If we are to believe that the show is rigged, why would some of the last few finalists and winners have gotten to that point? I highly doubt that the show would have wanted Janelle to lose both times, and so soon we forget that Adam called the mentally handicapped children, that he worked with, "retards" the very first episode of Big Brother 9. Big Brother 8 is the most objectionable season, but it wasn't as though the producers knew that Dick would be the sensation that he turned out to be.

Umm yeah I agree with that. Jessica looked hot tonight. I also loved the house reaction to Jessie coming in the house lol. For now, I pretty much like majority of the cast. The muscular, athletic guys are more down to earth and the pretty girls aren't as ditsy and annoying.

Not always right, but no fool either

Worst looking season yet. The clique thing defeats the purpose of people forming natural or sometimes unnatural alliances, and works against individual play. The HGs seem vapid and way too overprepared for the show. And Jesse - ugh.

I may finally be able to quit this show.

I thought the first episode was fine. It normally takes 2/3 weeks to really see how the season will shape up. The clique things seems kind of silly. Eventually I think they will be playing as individuals. In the meantime it does allow the cliques to team up together.

I am not happy that Jessie is back. I hate him. His ego seriously needs to be checked. Hopefully whoever is HOH next will kick him out next week. I so wanted it to be Jessica!!!

other than the fact that Jesse is now in the hous i really like everyone on the show this season and i see a few people with the potential to really upset the game because they will fly under the radar for awhile (Michelle, Casey, Sheba) while others hog all the attention.

I'm not sure if anyone caught this little quote or not, but at the begging when Julie said the show motto "expect the unexpected" she said something along the lines of " so if you just expect the unexpected or if you are just expecting"---i don't know if she was reffering to her own pregnancy or if she might have been hinting at someone in the house possibly being pregnant?

Praying The Daytime Emmys air on TV in 2010!

Yeah I caught it...I just assumed she meant her own pregnancy. I wouldn't think someone who was pregnant could be in the game with some of the comps they have; needing to go to the doctor, etc.

I've been watching the feeds, and I was worried about this thing myself, but I'm happy to report that the cliques really aren't changing what would have happened if there weren't any. The people that were assigned to each other actually like the other people in their group-as people.

Also, it's important to note that even though you can't nominate people from your clique (which will probably change come jury time), when it comes time to evict people, you are allowed to evict whichever nominee you want to. That's good!

Anyway, coutesy of The Truth Hurts at SurvivorSucks:

BB11 Premiere draws 6.7 million viewers

The premiere of BIG BROTHER 11 won its time period in all key measures and topped last summer's premiere of BIG BROTHER 10 in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Thursday, July 9.

BIG BROTHER 11 THURSDAY (P) was first in households (4.4/08), viewers (6.68m), adults 25-54 (2.7/09), adults 18-49 (2.3/08) and adults 18-34 (1.7/08). Compared to the first episode of BIG BROTHER 10 (which premiered on Sunday, July 13 last summer), CBS was up +10% in both households (from 4.0/07) and adults 18-49 (from 2.1/07), +13% in adults 18-34 (from 1.5/05), even in adults 25-54 and added +550,000 viewers (from 6.13m, +9%).

Compared to the Thursday BIG BROTHER 10 time period premiere (which was on July 31, 2008), CBS was up +5% in households (from 4.2/08), even in both adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 and added +280,000 viewers (from 6.40m, +4%).

Compared to the time period live plus same day delivery this summer (rebroadcasts of CBS's crime dramas and sitcoms), CBS was up +42% in adults 25-54 (from 1.9/06), +64% in adults 18-49 (from 1.4/05), +89% in adults 18-34 (from 0.9/03).

For the night, CBS was first in households (5.0/09), viewers (7.53m), adults 25-54 (2.5/07) and second in adults 18-49 (1.9/06, -0.2 behind FOX).

That's actually good news. It's up from last season's premier and average. Cool

Except for Jessie being back, I'm mostly hopeful for the cast this season. Sure, there are the usual dingbats and bimbos, but at least we have a few new stereotypical characters (Michele, Lydia, Ronnie) to mix things up. The last few seasons have been so boring that I've given up partway through, so hopefully the brains and off-beats will last long enough to keep things interesting. Of course, that's highly doubtful...

I'm inclined to agree with SeanFlynn here.

The idea of starting them off in these alleged "cliques" takes away most of the organic interactions and alliances that weren't predetermined by the producers or the show's format.

I also have to question the purpose of making the first competition in the house a completely physical one. The likelihood of any group but the "Athletes" or possibly the "Popular" group winning was slim from the start. The show had to know this. It's common sense.

I do think an interesting scenario that could come from this setup are cross group "showmances" for the sake of self-preservation.

"Friendships" will be looked upon negatively via the rest of the group, which would seem a prime environment for some of the connivers to feign interest in members of other groups to try and "charm" some loyalty from them via showmances.

And regarding Jesse-- gag me. I'd rather have Jessica's nasal voice for the entire run of the show over his constant posing, less than intelligent ramblings, and his egotistical gloating. I'd also like to know how he qualifies as an "athlete"?

I'm with you on this one. Jessie is a complete douche. But he actually is an athlete... well, a "natural bodybuilder" if you will.

If the game is based on high school cliques, how is body building a relevant high school "sport"?

It's also worth noting that while weight lifting is a recognized sport, body building is not. Body building is based solely on aesthetics, not skill or sport.

Jessie is a douche and I really hopes he gets evicted again early. That would be poetic!
