Noah Newman Recast

Starting August 13, actor Kevin Schmidt will take on the role as the rapidly aged Noah Newman on The Young and the Restless. The actor is most famous for his roles in the Cheaper by the Dozen franchises as one of the members of Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt's growing brood.

As reported two months ago, the previous Noah Newman played by Hunter Allen's last tape date was May 20 and the character has been only heard offscreen by his parents away at summer camp.

No word yet on what his storyline will be but, some say the adult Noah may be involved with the 20 something sect on Y&R.

I'll comment first from the pic on DC he looks alot like Sharon & Josh so hand clap to the casting director, but lets hope he can act.

I was thinking the same thing, but that's too much to wish for.

I just hope they dump some of the 20 somethings they have on there now...Chloe, Amber, Colleen, Jana and bring in some new fresh characters.

Imagine some gold digging hussie trying to get her hooks into Noah and him telling her he's gay!

She uses that info to blackmail him and get some Newman cash. When Nick and Sharon find out Noah's trust fund is dwindling, they confront him only for him to "come out" to his parents.

See, Y&R doesn't need Hogan....i'll write the damn show.

He will probably become best friends with Devon or Daniel and may go after Lily or Amber.

I quite like the 20-set right now - although I think they could dump Jana and pair Colleen up with Kevin.

I like the blackmailing hussie idea - but I think it'd be even more hilarious and a tribute to Y&R history, if there was another "Sharon" type character, except this time it's a male. And then Sharon takes on the Nikki, insufferable mother role. History repeats itself with a twist. LOL. I could totally see gay Noah getting along with Phyllis - who is one big flaming f*g hag.

Schmidt is only 19 right now (turning 20 in August), which means they'll probably play him as 16 or 17. The 20-something set on the show right now are mostly upper 20's, so I would hope his interaction with them would be limited. They need to bring on a character or two more in his age range for him to interact with. And, yes, making him gay would be awesome. But I wouldn't count on it with Sheffer at the writing helm. He seems as homophobic as they come.

Remember SIerra? She was Cassie's friend before she died. They should bring her back.
