Just when you thought Y&R couldn't get ANY WORSE, but in tomorow's US episode, Patty's doppelganger shows up.

This show is an uncreative and appalling mess. Yeah, because we needed ANOTHER doppelganger story on this show. Roll Eyes

This show is such a plot driven mess at the moment, it's time Maria Arena Bell, Hogan Sheffer, Scott Hamner, and Paul Rauch got called out for this mess and given their pink slips...

Plot driven with this show has become an understatement. I don't mind overlooking something here and there for the sake of a story, but these storylines are autonomous. They've completely come to life, and they do whatever they please. Stand up and walk around, trample all over characters and common sense and logic. They only care about getting to where they're going. It's pretty crazy.

I can't believe Patty has a doppelganger.

Bring Back Marlena!

Wow. Really? That's awful. First Carmen and John - now Patty. This is embarrassing. I hope it's not true.

^^^It's true I saw the show. Not sure why they are doing this. Why can't shows just hire an actor and let them go? The same thing happened with Greg Rikaart. Great actor, but they wrote him so psycho, "rehabilitated" him back into society and has character has been a bore since. Soaps need to know that there are plenty of talented people out there, and they will come and go, so use them wisely. Look at Sabryn Genet? Towards the end of her run she turned into a marvelous performer. Imagine if they had kept her around? I love Stacy Haiduk, but this is NOT the way to go. Stupid, stupid, STUPID.

What luck for rulers that men do not think.

Y&R has truly become atrocious. No better than Days or Passions at their worst. And the show doesn't even look beautiful anymore.. What boggles me most of all, is that critics are for some reason afraid to speak up about how bad this show is... And Maria Bell is delusional, DELUSIONAL about her "character driven" show. She is ****y and arrogant (as most Y&R actors are) about how wonderful their show is- impeccably produced, impeccably acted, character driven, daytime' best, blah, blah, blah, and the reality is, Days is better than Y&R is right now. Y&R is a plot driven, derivative, BORING- despite all of the plot development- MESS. I am really surprised that there are not more mainstream critical notices of the state of this show. And the Y&R actors are as delusional as Maria is. They all go on and on about how wonderful the show is. I vomit in my mouth a little. The show is soulless and I cannot believe what has happened to daytime's true "class act" show. The contrast between OLTL and Y&R is especially interesting in terms of plot that works and plot that simply does not.

I knew that this was going to happen when Hogan Sheffer took the reigns at being Head Writer. At first when he starts, he has all these great ideas but then he gets into a huge writers block and start creating the biggest crap ever on television.

After As the World Turns, Days of our Lives, and now Young and the Restless. He's done what no other person on TV has ever done, he's lead them to the downfall of their shows.

Maria Bell needs to fire him like yesterday.

I haven't seen the episode yet, and God knows where they're going with this, but as one of the people here who has defended the Patty/heart transplant story, I have to say that this seems like very disheartening news. I'm SOOOO over the doppelganger stories -- can anyone think of the last time a show came up with a really good one? I guess Will/Jeffrey on Y&R... Anyway, this is really bad news...
