"As the biggest Bratie fan in the universe, I think I am going to skip watching Brad’s death this week. What a dumb move, World Turns! You don’t kill off one half of your most popular couple — especially when you’re facing cancellation next year. Egos will destroy this industry just like it did GL."
I love Bratie as much as the next guy, but Nuke is undoubtedly still the most popular couple on ATWT- even if the show makes them annoying, whiny and boring... but I'll save all my Nuke complaints for another time.
" He speaks! James Franco was quoted recently saying that he’s become addicted to watching GH! Whew — thank God, the ABC soap is actually good these days! “I think it’s going to be a lot of fun,” Franco-licious says about his part-time day job. “I started watching [GH] a week ago and I love it.”
Glad to see Franco is liking GH. Hopefully more "superstars" will book these 3-day stints on soaps.
"Screw Canada AM! According to Mediaite, Toronto’s Cameron Mathison is possibly up to replace Good Morning America’s Diane Sawyer on the a.m. show. Memo to Cam: take it if ABC offers it to you, but I doubt they will. It’s unlikely considering Mathison is in the process of moving to LA."
I'm still undecided if Cameron will be too "perky" a la Kelly Ripa for my taste that early in the morning.
Awesome Suds Report as usual, Nelson.

Cameron Mathison to replace Diane Sawyer? I think not. I know GMA's second hour is more fluff that Mathison could handle, but the first hour is basically a news show. Somehow, I don't see Mathison conducting hard-hitting interviews with today's leading politicians.
ABC needs to go raid some of the lower level Today Show staff to replace Diane. My money is on either Natalie Morales or Erin Burnett.
The entire Lynn Herring interview was great. I like her a lot and she seems to really get it about the industry right now. I actually thought ATWT did a good job with her. They brought her in, used for the time they had her in an entertaining story, and that was it. That's the way short-term stints should be handled. Its interesting that she tested for the role of Jill on Y&R years ago before she was Lucy on GH. I'm glad Jess Walton stayed this last time, but part of me would have been very interested in seeing Herring as Jill if it would have happened.
I commented in another thread about ABC's promos for a returning Jonathan Jackson. The promo should say "Elizabeth's first love is back...from summer camp" since Jonathan Jackson still looks about 15 years old. I guess Lucky had some work done.

My first thought is that Deidre Hall is coming back to DAYS, but that's clearly wishful thinking on my part. Considering all the returns of late, and the praise for the show coming in at a low cost, I doubt they could afford to hire Hall back, though I'm sure she'd work for cheap.
Knowing if it's good news or bad news would certainly help with the guessing. But major news that is kept under wraps sounds to me like either a really surprising return or a really surprising departure. And who's departure would be more surprising than Eric Braeden's? So I think it's a return. Rowell?
I'm glad to hear that the people at NBC are pleased with DAYS. It really is one of the few parts of the NBC lineup that's working right now, along with the Thursday comedies and The Biggest Loser.
It's great to see all soaps gain viewers, though a little disappointing that the biggest gainers were the faltering Bell soaps.
Those quotes from Hillary Smith and Bob Woods regarding Bo and Nora's (Bora - HA!) upcoming kiss are funny. Even in print, they sound forced.
I loved the Lauren/Brad "Lady Boss" cover asm y fave SOW Y&R cover. It made me sad thinking how great of character Lauren used to be and now she's a boring housewife... and not even a desperate housewife. Just boring.
Nelson, thanks for the tidbit on the DAYS renewal ... I am really hoping they get the 2011 extension. It's a story that has been intriguing me for months.
Really, as sad as the loss of GL was, I think the renewal (being optimistic here) of DAYS will be the biggest soap story of the decade. To me, this verdict will be the bellweather for the soap industry. If a soap that has rocketed in quality - and more importantly (I guess to the bigwigs) viewers/ratings - cannot get its extension picked-up, then the fate of the industry looks grim indeed.
As a DAYS fan, I'm certainly waiting for this news, but I think everyone should be interested in this story.
*Fingers Crossed*
Nelson, any idea when NBC will break the news? Does anyone think it's possible that the 2011 extension will be extended beyond 2011?
Eric re-signed with SONY this afternoon. He's back for three years, bitches! Yes, that was my news. But there's a bit more to the story which I will reveal Monday.

Three years with an option for the studio to renegotiate anytime they want?? And what does this mean for MTS?
Quotes: Lynn Herrig is LOVED! & Rene Sofer is so on the money. GH is such a boys club.
AMC: FIRE PRATT! And as for the new opening I bet it is going to be some form of the Melrose opening. So get ready for JLu to do her signature hair toss and for Rebecca Budig to get a "Special Guest Star" billing or her face will be the first one to appear if they are still doing the photo montage.
ATWT: AS a Tom Pelphrey fanboy I am happy that his co-stars are in awe of his talent. Hopefully Kreizman will try to write his muse as diffreent from Jonathan as possible and yes keep him away from Marnie S. And if it was confirmed before it is now Terri & Austin hooked up, but anyone w/eyes could have seen that coming.
B&B: Poor Hunter and why is this show still #2?
Days: Congrats to Days and the team over there!
GH: That publicity department is shameless so I didn't expect less when that promo aired. And knowing now how the Frons feels about Becky Budig, that promo dissing my girl Sabine just reeks of his doing.
OLTL: I am intrigued at the Kim and Bo possible pairing b/c it is in the character's history to attract youynger women if I am not mistaken and Amanda Setton is one of the many finds of this yr. so for her to start mixing up w/the vets of the show will be fun to see.
Y&R: Again the behind the scenes drama and Mr. Kitty Story are the only thing entertaining about this show. As for the dual role, Stacy is bringing it.
Blind Item: Brad Bell is one.

Did Y&R punk everyone? This renewal drama reeks of a publicity stunt. Their biggest star leaves in a huff, mudslinging ensues, and Y&R garners media attention. After declaring the talks are thru, he's back? It would've been interesting how Y&R's ratings would've been affected and how Y&R would be retooled without the moustache.
Y&R still needs to clean house with all their useless chars like Amber, Deacon, Kevin, Jana, Daniel, Eden, Noah, Michael, Gloria, Jeff, Victoria, JT and should Dru not return then Neil and Lily should go. How awkward would it be when EB runs into Adrienne Frantz after her interview? eh, she probably wouldn't care since she seems to be so delusional and egomaniacal.
Brandon Beemer's such an awful actor, all he's there for is to get shirtless. They have really destroyed manwhore Owen in a similar way they wrote dante suddenly wanting a baby, and being critical of Jackie's past when Owen wanted Jackie for the monetary perks. Donna hosting The Catwalk? Jennifer Gareis cannot act as a trophy wife, so why have her act as a host? Why not have Lesli Kay's Felicia cohost it with her so they can both be bitchy and spoof shows like the View? Oh wait a minute, that would actually be a good idea, and LK is one of the few actors on B&B who can act, so of course Brad Bell won't do that.

LOL!
I'd actually prefer the big news to be Rowell's return to Y&R.
I haven;t watched B&B since shirtless Owen whined to his besty Steffy that Jackie was a prostitute, and then he rescued Jackie from being drowned by seagulls. I haven't watched Y&R since Patty was hiding in some shelter. Talking about soaps's behind the scenes and spoilers are far more interesting than watching soaps.

Thom Bierdz seems like a really nice guy and he's obviously a talented artist but an actor he is not. A gay Philip Chancellor is a great idea, but only if they recast.
I'm glad the Eric Braeden situation was resolved, though it is surprising, considering that there was a new interview from him every other day about how terrible the people at Sony were. I'm interested to hear the details on this one.

This is great news. EB is one of the very few superstars of daytime and we need all the star power we can get. Y&R would have been in some serious trouble if we had to depend on Boy Meets World dude or the laughably miscast Muhney to stand in for the iconic Braeden. Now if only the folks on Y&R would get over their own silly issues and bring back Victoria Rowell!
I am SO HAPPY that DOOL is on the brink of renewal! OLTL is my fave of the moment but Days has been great of late and deserves all the love its been getting. I can't help but wonder how Days would do in the ratings if it aired in Leno's time slot?
AMC is a joke. What an embarrassing story for David Canary and the whole cast. Chuck Pratt is far and away the WORST writer to ever darken daytime's door.
